Due to our busy schedule, at the moment, we are unable to take any smaller projects. We are focusing on major remodelings, additions, and full kitchen remodelings.

After 20 years, our home's original front porch had served us well, but the wood decking, railing and trim all needed to be replaced. We decided to rebuild it using composite materials everywhere, so it will last even longer than the original and will be as close to maintenance free as possible. We picked out exactly the materials and colors we wanted for our new porch and then started looking for a contractor. Based on recommendations, online research and Angie's List, we requested quotations from three contractors. All three responded and we had a chance to discuss the project with each of them. J & L Contractors stood out among them, with the best references, most experience and they were ready to do the project promptly. Working with J & L was a pleasure. Anytime we needed to communicate with them, they answered promptly and handled everything professionally. J & L's work was of high quality and was completed on time. We highly recommend them.

Excellent Quality of work and materials, Very professional group of men, work was completed in a timely fashion with fair honest rates. My husband and I are very happy with everything. Leo and Junior take the time to explain the process and materials and offer professional advice. We are planning to have them back in the spring to complete the basement. Very Happy :-)..

Leo and his team were hired to save my bathroom renovation after a nightmare experience with another local contractor who we had to part ways with mid-project. This meant picking up the pieces and re-doing work where someone else left off... Leo was up for the challenge! Overall my husband and I had a very positive experience and are thrilled with the final product. What struck us most about Leo was his determination to get the job right. He came back several times to work out specific design details and millwork profiles until we were 100% satisfied. The only hiccups we had were involving the coordination of other trades like the glass/mirror company. We were under the impression that he was coordinating for us and vice versa. A simple communication error, but it did cause a slight delay in our project. Leo may not have the most experience, but we do think he offers a great price-point, quality work, and is an honest individual. That certainly can't be said for most contractors these days. We would definitely hire him again!

We were very impressed and pleased with the work done for us by J&L Contractors. We got several bids for the work and chose them in part because they were highly recommended by a friend for whom they had worked extensively in the past, but also because they were so knowledgeable about what needed to be done and how best to proceed. Throughout the month long renovation they were efficient, reliable, honest and a pleasure to work with. Their work was meticulously completed, on time, and within budget even though we made a variety of changes along the way. I would recommend them without hesitation!

Leo did a fantastic job with the front steps at my investment property. Leo acted quickly to obtain an emergency permit, demolish rotting old steps, and build a new stairway outside. Having tenants, the cracked steps were a big liability for me and I was very grateful that Leo acted quickly and performed the entire job in less than a week (even less time if you count some of the rainy April days that can't be worked).

We could not be more happy with the work that was performed. Leo was very responsive and great on text and the quality of the materials and the work exceeded my expectation. I would hire him again, for sure. His attention to detail and pride in his work is not often seen. we will be looking for other projects for them to do in the future.

The work was impeccable! I waited to write this review because I wanted to get feedback from friends and family who saw the finished area. I have had so many compliments and I think this is from the workmanship. Really good job done here. The J&L workmen were professional and respectful of our property. They worked in the basement with minimal noise and we hardly knew they were here. They cleaned up after the work which was great for me! Leo was great to work with and gave us exactly what we wanted. I highly recommend this team.

The finished porch looks great. Leo also went out of his way to get us material samples so we could pick something we'd be happy with. And he is very responsive over text and email. We are very satisfied with the work and will be hiring them for our future construction jobs.

These guys did a really nice job. They were professional and communicated really well with me on questions i had for this project. The price was good and the quality of work was excellent. Typically I'm very cautious about hiring people because i don't want to get screwed but J&L communicated with me the whole way through. I've already hired them again for a the next project.

Excellent. Job was going to take 2 days but I said I needed access to cellar so they calling in extra help at the last minute and completed it in one day. I went to work, came home and it was is if they were never there (cellar was spotless), except we had a brand new beautiful staircase. Did exactly as we asked!! Great job!!! They also fixed a roof leak, no more water in the garage entry!!! Another excellent job!!

Leo and Junior are easy to work with, they listen and hear customers wishes, they are professionals and don’t cut corners, they follow the various steps needed to ensure a professional result and care about the result they produce. All inspections were passed easily without a hitch. The working conditions were hard because the summer was so hot and so humid, yet they stayed on schedule. We have already recommend "J & L Home improvements" to friends and co-workers and plan on using them again.

Leo's papers were all in order, license, insurance, proposal,diagram, copy of permit application. Everything presented without being asked. Leo kept in touch, did as he said he'd do, when he said he'd do it. He came recommended by Ace Contractors in No. Reading whom I trust. Leo also did not find extra work to raise the bill, he did as I asked him to do.

Jr and Leo did an amazing job replacing my two exterior doors and fixing another one. My old doors didn't work well and were hard to lock. The framing was a mess. They also fixed a door that was scraping my floor and had to physically be lifted by the handle to dead bolt it. All my doors work with ease now and I couldn't be happier. They replaced all the framing and I am so pleased with the quality of their work. My house now looks beautiful and I've had many compliments. I would hire them again and highly recommend them.... Good work guys!
