AMBASSADOR CONCRETE

The smaller of the 2 bridges was completed but is now deteriorating.  Work on the larger bridge was never finished and it has now collapsed again.  We have learned that this company is unlicensed and should not be doing home improvement work in Maryland.  We have filed a complaint with the Maryland Home Improvement Commission and criminal charges have been filed.  We are also pursuing the company and its owner, Carlton Alexander, in civil court.   I can no longer find it on Angie's List but the company was listed in the past and the lack of negative reviews about its service was one reason we used it. <br />

He did a very good job. Came by himself and did a wonderful job. He was outstanding!

Overall I was well pleased with the job performed, and completely trusted the employess.

Carleton came for an estimate on a Friday morning, provided a quote that afternoon which was 40% less than any other of the other 4 competitors we had come by, and had his crew on site by 7am the next Monday morning.  Job was completed in full by close of business on Thursday.   A remarkable job!  The house was extremely clean after their work was completed.  Almost all dust had been removed.  Recommend Carleton and his team at Ambassador to anyone who needs similar work done.  

All went smoothly! We would use Carlton for any future projects!

The basement walkout looks brand new and the work was guaranteed.  The mortar was replaced on the brick steps and the brick landing.  I would like to have them come back out to clean the mortar off of the bricks, but I will probably have to do that myself using some muriatic acid.

The work did not hold up long. The cap, in particular, was clearly not meant to last. I had to have the work redone a couple years later by a different mason.

Ambassador did a great job pouring the concrete in the back of the house over the old concrete. It was a straight forward job but they did it well and at a very reasonable price.

My property manager called him. He gave an estimate that was fair since we had already talked to another person abot the job. He was patient even though we didn't get back to him for 1 week. He did the job as soon as we called him (after getting a deposit) and sent pictures via picture text of the completed job. I have a 1 hour drive so that was very helpful in saving me time and gas.

The owner arrived and dropped off two workers. The owner left to go get a support piece to use for the brick, which he knew he needed before the job started as he had inspected the fireplace and gave me a quote in person prior to my hiring him. The two workers began tearing out the brick which because of its deteriorated state immediately began falling down. They proceeded to sit on my back patio smoking for 2 hours plus waiting for the owner to return with the needed support. Once owner returned, the three worked for less than an hour and felt they were done. The brick was uneven and more was removed than was requested. The owner chiseled more of the brick off but stated this was as good as he felt he could do. I was not satisfied with either the level of professionalism or the quality of the work performed and would not hire this company again.

They did a good job and I think the price was good. It was hard to schedule so I would say the owner that does the scheduling and estimates is busy.

Stucco was peeling from my chimney (50 year old house) and the first estimate I got was off the charts. I received what I thought was a very reasonable estimate from Ambassador, and they started and completed the job in one day within the week of the estimate. I was very pleased with the result and would highly recommend you call them for stucco work.

They did a great job. I will be using them again in the future.

Overall, Ambassador did a good job, and their prices were much lower than those quoted by a competitor (a competitor who also received good ratings on Angie's List, BTW). My only complaint was that there was a significant amount of over spray when they applied the stucco, and they didn't clean up all of it as well as they could have. Also, some of the stucco got on an outside faucet, making it impossible for me to screw on a garden hose. But generally speaking, I was satisfied with the work and the price was very reasonable.

Amazing. Ambassador finished up brick repointing that was left undone by a previous contractor that took too long. Got them to brick up windows in order to fit my new windows that were coming in. Got them to fix my chimney, initially it looked awful because of the soot and it was indented strangely. Fixed it by cutting bricks in half and making the chimney and wall flush. Got them to acid wash and seal the brick. Got them to do stucco and the back side of my house. I did not know Ambassador prior to hiring them. I was desperate because of the previous contractor. I went with them and they exceeded my expectations. They were very professional. They were very reasonably priced (couldn't find a lower price). They were quick and efficient. They were not argumentative. They had integrity in every sense of the word. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

After receiving a quote from another mason that was out of our budget, I contacted Mr. Alexander. He offered to repair the brick steps and landing rather than replacing them. By doing this, I was able to save money, but the obvious trade off is that I would not have beautiful new steps. I was a little unsure, but since this was the only in-budget solution, I hired Mr. Alexander. He showed up on the appointed day and began work immediately. I didn't even realize he was on the premises until he asked me where he could get some water. Mr. Alexander worked very hard and is also quite friendly! He finished in one afternoon and I am more than pleased with the work one year later. The mortar between the landing and steps is a little wider than you might find in a "perfect" situation, but as he promised the steps look fine. Considering the alternative would have cost me close to $1000, I am still happy that we went with Ambassador Concrete and the very good repair vs. the expensive replacement.

I tried to go through Angie's list to find a mason to do this job, but I could not find anyone willing to handle a small job like this. I had one quote of $3,500 for the job and finally I got in touch with Carlton. Carlton came in at 1/3 of the price. His crew worked had and efficient and had the job finished in two days, just to my specifications.
