American concrete and general construction

On 9/4/2022, I signed a contract with a gentleman who introduced himself as Jimmy Manno whose company he claimed was "American Concrete and General Construction". We connected via the Angi.com phone app. He said the total cost of the job would be $3800 but on that day took $1250 cash, which represented approximately 1/3 of the total cost. Jimmy said he wouldn't be able to start until late September or first week of October 2022 (now). My basic complaint is NOT being able to communicate with him, even after many texts messages for weeks now. When I dial his number it goes directly to voicemail, saying (in his voice) to leave a messages. I don't know where he is or what's going on. He responds to nothing. Frustrating.

I am extremely satisfied with the driveway and sidewalk repair. Jim was very professional and the work was completed within a reasonable timeframe.I am very satisfied with cost of the work completed and I highly recommend American Concrete & General Construction LLC.

I hired this company to install a new concrete sidewalk and driveway. I had already had the previous concrete removed and the ground was prepped before they were hired. On 5/21, they had the concrete poured and left me with a complete mess with mounds of concrete and a total botch job that has become a safety hazard and liability to me. On that date, the owner told me that he needed to do it over, stating that he couldn't get it done properly because one of his guys didn't show up. It was hot that day and his crew was not able to spread and finish the concrete before it dried up. He told me that he would be back the next Saturday to re-do the job. He didn't show up the next Saturday and then he stated that he doesn't know when he would be able to re-do it. Meanwhile, I have been left with a safety hazard and liability that was created by him, not mention a sidewalk job that needs to be re-done. He left me in a worse state that when he started. Before hiring him, I had already paid someone to remove and dump old concrete. Now I must pay someone to remove and dump concrete again as well as pay someone to install new concrete which is what I already paid this company to do. The last time I asked him when he would take care of the mess he left and re-do job, he responded that he couldn't give me a date as to when he would fix it and he texted that if I took him to court, he "can tie the proceedings up and your house will stay like that for at least two years. read the contract." Mind you, at that point, taking him to court had never even crossed my mind. Then after that, he came to my house when no one was there, entered my backyard without my permission and took wood that I had in my backyard. So not only did he take my money for a job he didn't do, he trespassed on my property and took my wood. My neighbors witnessed him doing it and I have video footage of him entering my property. I had to file a police report. My experience with this company has been a total nightmare. I chose them bc of the great reviews but I ended up feeling that I was scammed and stolen from.

They did a thorough job. They were very professional, the work came out nice, and quality.
