Stamped Concrete Installation, Driveway,

About us

"Most of what we do is full tear-out and replacement. We remove the old cracked, settling, or spalling concrete, rebuild the base the right way, and pour new. We also handle driveway extensions and widening, aprons and curb cuts, stamped and decorative concrete, and concrete repair. Our crews have poured more than 38,000 residential concrete projects. Every job gets a dedicated project coordinator, up-front pricing with no surprise change orders, and a final walkthrough before we call it finished. Licensed and insured. Need a new driveway? Request a free estimate and we'll measure your property and give you a real number — not a range."

Do not hire this company. They will destroy your property and use their contract as an excuse to do it. The company they hired to pour the concrete dislodged my basketball goal, tore up the yard and dumped the left over concrete right in front of the concrete pad. Then the crew packed gravel on top of it so i had a dome in front of what was going to be a metal building. When I complained that the grade of the driveway was changed by the dumped concrete, they told me they didn't do it, it was the concrete delivery, so it wasn't up to them to fix it. Since I didn't contract the concrete delivery myself, I pushed back. They also owed me a couple tons of gravel and trash cleanup. Their solution was to send a crew out without notice, while we were out of town. They dug up an ATT line and severed it, yet they didn't remove the mound of concrete. So now the gravel is higher than the building and it funnels rain in. HORRIBLE

If I could give this company negative stars I would. Tried to hire them, paid a large deposit, and they never showed up. When they tried to reschedule I told them I wanted to cancel. They informed me it would take 4-6 weeks to get my refund. We are going on 10 weeks and no refund. To make matters worse, they have stopped communicating with me. Time to get the lawyer involved I guess. Do not do business with these people. Criminals.

I currently have a case with the attorney general for the state of Indiana ongoing. The company subcontracts to another smaller company of individuals who are non-English-speaking, and this is how they get you into raising the price of the job. They were drinking alcohol in my front lawn, and I have photos attached for confirmation. The attorney general is seeking a resolution as of September 2024 and I will let you guys know The outcome. I have a newly built home, and the contractors that were subcontracted to do the work, drove the concrete trucks onto my lawn, the lawn and wrecked into my mailbox, dripped concrete and heavy amounts and ripped up my beautiful front lawn. The patio developed four foot-long cracks within 10 days of the job being completed In the company, now fully paid, will not bother to contact me or meet with me in person. They stated that the crack has to be a full Half inch wide before they will come and do something about it. They offer me one quote and by the end of the job the quote had increased by about $4000. Buyer, beware but trust me I am going to fight this with the attorney, generalâ s office to the end and put this review on every site that I can possibly put it on. I believe that when you pay for a job, you should get it done by the company that you contracted and not a subcontractor. Donâ t use non-English-speaking individuals to renegotiate the contract, Repair the damage as it happens, and most important DO NOT DRINK ON THE JOB BECAUSE THAT IS HOW you get bad outcomes for the quality of the work. I am an honest, working mother, who simply wanted to beautify my home with a backyard edition that allows me to relax in this terrible economy, crazy, new cycles, and high demand to pay through the nose for everything. Concrete driveway co. Defrauded me in my opinion, raised the price, and never physically did the work just used subcontractors. It should be noted that I have images showing that concrete driveway, company, formally Madewell, supplied the alcohol that the subcontractors were drinking. They drank even on the church parking lot across the street. I would not use them to work on my home. My stress just begins, but I will continue to update every week.

The scope of work was a stamped and tinted home patio and cart path with a concrete pour of approximately 15 cubic yards. The cost of the project ended up 10% higher than the contract with some scope not completed. A follow-up meeting with the MADEWELL CONCRETE CEO ended with a verbal agreement to color the concrete work after the fact to compensate for the incomplete scope of work. THE CEO continued to promise this agreement for a month and then has gone silent for several more months. No follow-up correction work has been done. The basis of my dispute with MADEWELL CONCRETE is what I believe is a poor understanding of a portion of the project by the sales representative and the Project Manager. The patio slab turndown slab was fully discussed by me to them but apparently not discussed internally to know that additional forming materials were required; none of which were brought to the site until later during the prep work. The bobcat access to the patio was also not determined internally before the work. The problems in my view got worse when both the Project Manager (PM) and the concrete foreman left the project during the prep for the concrete pour. The PM to get forming materials for the turndown slab and then again to get color materials, approximately 2 hours. The concrete foreman left for an hour for an unknown reason. The following priorities were explained to lead personnel before the pour day: Patio to be stamped and tinted very close to a former project of MADEWELL CONCRETE. An area in the slab to be level for a hot tub. Cart Path to comply with COE requirements and to be colored. A curb to be placed to channel rainwater away from the patio area. A stair landing area. The plan of getting on site at 8:30 AM with concrete coming at 1:00 PM while Project Manager and foreman left the site during this time was aggressive. The schedule and the leaders leaving the site without providing adequate direction caused the owner to have incomplete work scope per the contract agreement with a 10% higher cost than the agreement. Coupled with concrete color problem - totally not what was asked for which happened to be exactly like what they had previously installed on an earlier MADEWELL CONCRETE project. The team showed up without thorough knowledge of the scope, without proper formwork, telling me in one case, that they had not been told about the flat slab requirement (clearly on the scope document). The crew arrived between 8:00 and 8:30 AM for a 1:00 PM pour, no prior work had been done. The immediate problem of no forming materials for the turndown slab was realized. The complication of getting the bobcat into the patio area was also realized. My complaints are as follows: • Due to the Project Manager leaving the jobsite, decisions were made that ended up with a bad looking and low patio subgrade. An extra load of fill was ordered but the PM and the foreman left the site and were not here to direct where the fill was to go. The crew meanwhile closed access to the patio before fill arrived. The extra fill load was wasted on site causing several more yards of concrete to be required for the patio slab. This ended up being a subsequent charge to me. • One mandatory requirement was to have a level area for a hot tub. The crew foreman fought with me on this, he said he was not told of this and could not do it. The slab area for the hot tub is not level and has to be shimmed by owner to be level. • The in scope 4’ x 4’ concrete stair landing was not installed, creating a significant extra cost for a contractor to be hired for a wood and composite landing. • The in-scope concrete curb was not installed creating water drainage onto the patio. • The in-scope cart pathway turnouts at existing drive were not installed. • Extra fill was poor quality including very large basketball sized chunks that were left for the owner to manage – Many of these were wasted to the landfill by the owner. • The crew let the tandem dirt hauler down on existing concrete – twice; and a crack developed at the large corner where he dumped. • A 30’ tall tree was hit by the bobcat and has died causing permission requirement from the COE to cut down and at more owner expense. • The in scope colored concrete (Deep Tan) is nonexistent except in some areas. In fact, the bulk of the concrete slabs seem to be hardly different than uncolored concrete and in fact whiter.

Initially, everything seemed fine, although when it came to the actual work day, problems arose. The new driveway was never graded properly. While the gradient did improve from leaving the left side flooded, the right side now floods. Stress lines were installed but not in two wider portions of the driveway, which have led to massive cracking (more than 1/4 inch) within the first six weeks. Multiple attempts to contact the company, also filing a claim online. No resolution has been provided, sitting at 70 days now. Customer service is atrocious at best. I wish they were as eager to fix their mistakes as they were to receive my money.

Buyer Beware. Check the BBB Rating for Madewell. It has been REVOKED. These guys are crooks. I am a senior citizen and they took my deposit of $2,750.00 kept it and never did any work. They are currently being investigated by the Indiana Consumer Protection Division of Indiana for Fraud. I have not received one cent back from these crooks since they baked out of the contract to enlarge my driveway here in Avon Indiana. Where are all of these great reviews coming from? Check the BBB website and see how many times they have ripped off and stolen from their customers.

The company should have been more knowledgeable about customer service and developing the project. They did not do a good quality job, they did not clean after themselves, and did not come back to fix their mistakes.

I had serval bids on the job and Madewell was the only one that made an effort to earn my business. They also offered what no one else could: quick installation. All the other companies said that they could get the job done sometime between next March to maybe May or later but Madewell got the job done in just a few weeks. The work was awesome and quick. The Project Manager did an excellent job communicating and keeping me informed throughout the day. I could not be more pleased and I have recommended Madewell to my neighbors who came to marvel at the beautiful work!

The west end of the driveway is sloped toward the house. The Contractor has not responded to several attempts to contact them nor to a claim submitted on their website.
