Tommy and crew came out and entirely revamped my system. He put the original one in 16 years ago and it still worked great, but I changed a lot with landscaping over the last 2 years and needed an entire overhaul. He custom built my new system and truly listened to what I was concerned about and made some great recommendations. Highly recommended and would hire again in a heartbeat.

I was looking for a reliable & reasonable lawn sprinkler contractor for a while . My previous contractor was a bigger company but over priced ,terrible & unfriendly service. Luckily I finally find American Lawn Sprinklers. Tommy and Lisa who owns the company knows exactly what you need for your lawn .Price was very reasonable & Tommy is very professional at what he does . I added a 1 zone with 7 heads on my front front lawn . So the Tommy & his crew came early in the morning around 8 am on time . I was so worry that my grass will be destroyed due to adding a new line from my back to the front of the house . I was so impress when it was complete within 2 hours like nothing happen . I am so happy from now on I don’t need to water the grass & plants my self . I will always use them in the future. Many Thanks to Lisa who squeezed in a schedule for me the last minute . Highly recommended!! Great Job??

I had them come look at the system I had. Tom came out and was very friendly and told me by the time he was done I would have a lawn that looks like a golf course. So over friendly and nice I should have known something was up. I got a referral from Angie's list and saw good reviews so I didn't even have anyone else give me a quote. (MY BIG MISTAKE) They came on time did the work and everything seemed to be fine. After a year my heads didn't seem to be working quite right so I asked them to come check them. My previous sprinkler company did that on opening every year. He sent someone that worked for him. I showed him the areas I was having issues with and the guy just shrugged his shoulders and then wanted to give me a bill for a service call. If he had done something or actually looked at the heads I would be inclined to agree but to just shrug his shoulders and not even consider looking at what I was talking about was absurd. I let it go thinking that Tom the owner would call me again but they didn't. So this year I am seeing that the water isn't hitting in the same areas and we requested Tom to come. His wife that answers the phones said she would make sure he would come. They said between 9 and 12. They called at 7am and said we are coming in 30 min. I said no because they said between 9 and 12 and she said ok I'll tell him. Then we got a phone call a little later saying someone got hurt on the job and they had to reschedule. So we rescheduled for today making sure to be very specific and say after 9 correct? Guess what...got another call around 7:15 saying can Tom come now. We said give us a half hour. I was very happy that he was coming. When I answered the door I could tell he was already in a bad mood....he wasn't all happy and charming as when he was selling me the system. He tried to tell me it was over watering and fungus on the front of my grass. Then when I showed him in the back where sprinklers weren't going off and water wasn't hitting anything he said you never asked me to put heads there. I can't believe the response. Why wouldn't I want heads to hit where my vegetables ALWAYS grow? Don't you think a better response would be to actually see why the water isn't hitting or perhaps offering to add some heads..even if there was a charge? I can't believe the 180 on the attitude. My lawn looks worse than it has ever looked. So very frustrated beyond belief. I am sure he is going to write some kind of comment back to this. But feel free to contact me if you want a real review. Who knows how many friends or whomever he got to write good reviews for him. STAY AWAY from this company!!!!

"The system was put in 5 years ago. At that time, we did exactly what you wanted. Since than, you changed your landscape design and that will effect you sprinklers and what is covered. Also, at that time you did NOT wants sprinkler heads behind the shed and now are complaining that the grass is dead. I try to accommodate you with but unforantely things happen and the route was changed and I can NOT have the guys waiting around for 2 hours because you want to sleep. Last year you yelled at one of my guys and treated him like garbage and we should have NEVER come back to your house but we did. It seems you are just an angry person."

Sprinkler installation was completed recently and so far, I am happy with the choice to go with American Lawn Sprinklers. The whole process from estimate to completion was very smooth and professional. The office was very easy to get in touch with and always helpful and clear in answering all of my questions. Pricing was fair and reasonable (and better than Pacific Lawn). Overall pleased with the job.

They arrived early and were fast and efficient. The pricing was reasonable and they did a great job finding the 3 breaks in my sprinkler line and quickly repairing it.

The owner was polite and explained every detail of the installation. They were on time and worked hard throughout the day. My lawn was left spotless, with no debris or holes, etc... I would have never known they were there. The price was very reasonable, and worth every penny! I would highly recommend this company.

The first appointment was canceled due to weather and the next day they showed up 3 hours late. The valve for the zone needed to be replaced. The charge of $250 plus service fee for a roughly $20 valve was ridiculous. I will not be using this company again because they gouge their customers.

"Yes, we did have to reschedule due to rain. As far as showing up 3 hours late, we do not give a specific time. You are given a timeframe. Yes, it is $250 to change a valve, you can call any reputable company and the prices are all the same. Changing a valve requires plumbing and that is a service that you pay for."

Top notch installation, done with quality parts at a fair price. Highly recommend. I now have a system with a Wifi Hunter controller, which they recommended, so I can control the system using my smart phone

Great everything was installed quickly and neatly. I asked them to return and add two more sprinklers that I originally told them I didn't need. They responded quickly and did not charge me.. The system is up and running with no problems and the town approved the work

We had our front and side lawn set up a couple of years ago. They were friendly, professional, neat, accommodating and did a great job. They set up the back yard to save extra work once we were ready to finish the back yard landscaping. We did that this year and they noticed the company that poured our back yard cement patio poured it over one of our sprinkler heads causing a leak under the concrete. I never would have noticed this. They had to dig under our patio to fix this for us. They also noticed another leak in the front yard where we had other concrete work done a couple of years ago, that could have been there this whole time as we turned this system on ourselves last spring. I recommend always having them come back to turn your system on in the spring! I never would have noticed these two leaks as all is usually dry by the time I look at the yard during the day. They go above and beyond! Last night I called them concerned about new tress in the back and whether they were getting enough water. I couldn't sleep last night I was so worried they were going to die. They rushed out today at no charge to check on them for me and adjust my settings for these new trees until they take. They are the best!!!

Men showed up on time. They were very professional and friendly. They replaced the lawn sprinkler heads and one just needed to be cleaned.. They were honest to tell me so that helped keep the cost down. I would use them again!!

This company has a “the customer is NEVER right” and “defend the company at all costs” attitude. Every single time that I have ever dealt with them, I have had a problem. One or two relatively small problems isn't so bad, but by the fifth or tenth problem, I'm wondering why I am still a customer with this horrible company that never takes responsibility for its actions. Among other problems I have had: 1.) They left cigarette butts all over my yard when installing sprinklers. 2.) The owner, Tommy, repeatedly asks that payments be made by check "To Cash" (so he can defraud the IRS). 3.) The ground in my yard wasn't properly pounded down after sprinkler installation, so that my yard was full of peaks and valleys. 4.) No sprinkler head was installed next to my shed, as I had specifically requested. 5.) The sprinkler electrical box was installed in such a bad place in my garage that I cannot even open the lid fully. 6.) Lisa (who answers the phones and is Tommy's wife) is rude, and I have to repeatedly remind her to do things (like “PLEASE call me back to set up an appointment,” “you forgot to mail me a document,” etc.). 7.) Tommy is demeaning to women (e.g., said to me, among other things, "You mean you seriously don't know where your water shutoff valve is?"), but he got along with my husband well. 8.) They usually arrive too early or too late (rarely within their prearranged timeframe). I called to discuss these issues with Lisa. Shockingly, her initial response was, “well you should have told me about these items earlier.” She then went on to find excuses for every complaint I had (and I have no doubt that she will continue to do so in response to this review). Lisa NEVER offered any apology or any way of making things right. This treatment is absolutely unbelievable. I try to support “mom and pop companies,” which is why I chose this sprinkler company and not the much larger company that I now wish I had chosen. I write this review in the hopes that other people will not have to deal with what I have had to.

The day that the job was installed you were over joyed with the job and NEVER said that there was a problem. Call me crazy but that is NOT a complaint. I have NEVER had someone complain to me about being on time. If we were late and didn't call than yes, you would have every right to be upset, but that is NOT the case. If you were so uncalled unhappy with the way the job came out, which there was nothing wrong, than you should have called IMMEDIATELY not [Member Information Removed] years later. Now you are saying that you do not like where the box was installed when this is where it was agreed on upon the installation of the job? I apologized for you being unhappy and offered you my email so that you can send me your complaints and I would handle them with the workers, but you just HUNG UP on me. I can tell you, that from day you, you ALWAYS sounded like you were ready to explode. It is obvious that you are never happy and want to complain. If you look at all of our reviews, you can see that we are very accommodating and I have NEVER had an issue with a customer or been nasty with any of them. I am sorry that you feel the urge to make up such non sense."

I first checked to see if they serviced Valley Stream since they are located in Bellmore. Lisa scheduled us for the following week at a time convenient for me; Tommy the owner called shortly before arriving at the appointed time and took care of everything seamlessly. He even called to tell me the appointment had been completed. I could not be happier and the special price advertised on Angie's list cannot be beat. I would not hesitate to recommend them.
