AMERICAN PAVING CO OF MORRIS COUNTY

I originally gave this company a D because I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, which you can see by my the first half of my review, but that has since changed at the end of this review. part 1..... .I am a little conflicted on how to write this review and hope I can edit it if David ever resurfaces. David was great and patient the entire way through the process. Answered all my questions, concerns, worked around other projects, etc. i never had a reason to think he isn’t the right guy for the job, heck, he may still be if I ever learn the backstory. The issue is, I cant get in touch with him now that I am having a slight issue with the driveway. One, that will only get worst if not fixed, I have called numerous times and sent at least 5 messages via Angie's List since roughly July 3rd. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt (sick, out of the country, on vacation, busy season, etc). However, it is almost going on a month and I’m stuck wondering how to proceed as he hasn’t responded. Even other contractors dont have anything bad to say about him, but do suggest the driveway wasn’t compacted with a “heavy enough” roller. Thus, the cause of the slight indentations in the driveway (have gotten worst since originally typing this). The entire point of paving my driveway was to get rid of those and much, much worst damage that the driveway had. Everything else is great - pitches good, survived the scaring, no damage to my new fence or patio pavers, WAS (before he got all my money) a great communicator, started/finished on time. I am hoping you see this review and resolve the issue so I can leave the review I was going to originally leave (all great comments). Anyone else reading this, take it for what it is...maybe something else is going on that is more important than work right now..who knows.. I just hope the one year warranty is honored. part 2) I changed my review to F because I have been waiting for over a month and I now know the company is active and still around. I have simply been ignored and what appears to be ripped off. All of American Paving Company jobs come with a warranty and mine is not being honored. I expected better from a company that has been around for 60 years and initially seemed very legitimate. thanks for ripping me off and not honoring your work. very unprofessional and I will be reporting this issue to the state and town. This is why I suggest people don't pay contractors with a check, which is unfortunately only what this company takes. I felt comfortable enoaugh paying via this way because of his previous great reviews. Now, the only recourse is small claims court and the attorney generals office. all emails, phone calls and fax messages ignored since July 3rd. It is now August 25th, 2019. To make matters worst you redid a driveway 8 houses down from me and still didn't stop by or leave a note. You probably got the business from the sign you left at our house. I hope you sleep well at night knowing you screwed me and my family out of $3500.. .so much for my 7 year old having a smooth driveway to play basketball on, which is half of the reason I fixed the driveway. You should be ashamed.

I have been meaning to write this review for quite some time. David was wonderful to work with, he came to my home to give me an honest (and fair) quote. He also returned after I brought up concerns with the viability of my driveway/retaining wall to listen and offer his advice. The job was completed in a timely manner and looks amazing. After pitching my driveway away from my house, the amount of water in our basement has noticeably lessened. I would absolutely recommend and use again!

Can't recommend these guys highly enough. They did a beautiful job repairing and repaving my beat up 20+ year-old driveway. The owner, David, was very responsive and a pleasure to deal with. They showed up on schedule and completed the job in exactly the time he said they would. And their price was the best by far to boot. Would use them again in a heartbeat, although I think that's gonna be a while if the initial quality is any indicator.

American Paving was completely professional in both quoting and completing the work. It was clear to me that David was thoughtful in assessing how best to restore my driveway and he discussed all the steps with me. He and his crew arrived on time, were professional in every way, including clean up. I had consulted with other companies and American Paving came out ahead in every way. My driveway looks amazing. A pleasure to work with this company.

Dave Bini came to my house and left an estimate the very next day. He offered two quotes, but suggested the cheaper one was the best choice. No need to rip out everything that was there. I called Dave the next day, and he quickly returned my call and answered my questions. I waited weeks for another estimate, and after receiving it, could never reach anyone for questions, or ever get a call back. Both estimates were within a $100 of each other. Given his promptness, and my conversatons with Dave, I decided to give him the job. He scheduled it for two weeks out, and called on the given Friday to say he would be there on Monday. He and his crew were here promptly Monday morning to do the prep work, and returned Tuesday morning to do the finish paving. After he was finished I inspected the work and am quited pleased with the result. They were prompt, pleasant to work with, and Dave was there every minute of the job. Nice to have the owner oversee the quality of the work. I would highly recommend this company.

Except that the city paved our street at the same time . The company responded well. Worked with us and followed directions meticulously

American Paving of Morris County did excellent, quality work with attention to detail. The workers were pleasant and efficient. The owner, Dave Bini, was a good communicator throughout the project. He was available for all of my questions. The timing of the project was great. I got it done with within a week of my first call to him. I am very satisfied with the work and I would highly recommend them. My driveway is very nice, and better than the original one I had when it was new. I will be calling them back next year to have the driveway sealed.

Extraordinary responsive during initial set up to discuss project and give estimate. Work was done ahead of schedule and on budget. They were extremely professional and did a great job.

They were able to do the work sooner than expected, and did not mind working in light rain. They also patched a hole in the existing driveway for no charge.

I contacted American Paving based on proximity to my home and Angie's List reviews. My initial call and every call afterwards were answered the same day. The estimate was given within a day. The team came promptly at the agreed upon time and finished that day. Old railroad ties were removed from the sides of the old driveway, shrubs were trimmed back where needed and the workmen were careful not to damage the existing plantings. They removed all debris. David checked to be sure that water flowed away from the house and gave me some tips to prevent damage to the new driveway. It really looks great. Bonus was the coupon discount. Thanks, Dave!

<p>I got the estimate and agreed to the job via email without meeting Dave Bini based on the reviews and reputation. Once the job started you could tell he has been doing it for many years. The work turned out excellent, accurate border. He tested the water flow to make sure it flows away from the house. He created a gentler angle to the road so a low car wouldn't scrape the road.</p> <p>The only minor issue I had was that he used my garage to park the compacting machine without asking. It probably didn't damage the concrete in my garage but I prefer outside jobs stay outside.</p>

They did a good job and they were willing to accommodate my schedule.

I can't say enough about the company and Dave Bini's commitment to quality. Other contractors gave me lower estimates and told me I would have everything done in a day, but Dave explained that due to my town's high groundwater levels that the driveway would need time to settle and harden before applying new asphalt. After putting down the initial layer of stone, they came back twice more to add more stone to fill in tire grooves that were forming in the driveway. Dave monitored my driveway and then came back to apply the new asphalt only when he was satisfied that the ground had sufficiently settled. Dave handles the large equipment himself and his attention to detail is evident as you watch him work. His crew was professional and friendly, After each visit they used blowers to clean not only my sidewalk but the street as well, and after putting down the asphalt they swept away any stray pebbles from the area. I have already been getting compliments on the new driveway and I would happily refer them to anyone looking to have a paving project done. <br />

Called Mr. Bini to make appointment.  He came, looked at our driveway and left us an estimate in the mailbox. Called him back to say we were satisfied with the estimate.  A few days later he called and came the next day with two trucks and four men.  They were very pleasant and professional and they finished the whole work in about 3 hours.  It looks great and we are very pleased. <br />

Dave was very responsive to my request for a quote and communicated throughout the process.  He was even able to get the job done before the date that he had originally given me and the work.seems to be top notch.  I would definitely recommend American Paving to anyone who needs this kind of service. <br />

<p>First, the owner came for an estimate. Detailed all the work they will do and how long it may take.  I gave the approval to star the work two days later. They had three works in my area starting already as I saw their signs. Their estimate was the chipper and the references, beside Angie, were very good, They started ripping and braking the old drive way, which really was in bad conditions. Once the finish doing the preliminary work etc  they left it in dirt condition so it will settled by itself. Came a week later to check it did some leveling and two weeks later came to finish the paving etc. The wait did not bother because it did not upset of getting the cars (3) in or out. We could use the drive way normal, in and out, until the asphalt time came. That last works was finish in about 5 hrs. They put a cloth line across the drive way, to avoid the use of it till 4 days. Is good to mention that they with all they needed since the very beguining and always cleaning after. Really satisfied with their work. </p> <br />

I contacted American Paving of Morris County after seeing his sign in my neighborhood, and he had done some work locally. After talking to some friends that said they he had a reputation for doing quality work,  and reading his reviews I decided to have him do my work. He is professional, stayed in contact with me, called back within the workday with any questions I had. The work done was neat, clean, and professional, he even sent me pics of the job as it was being done! I would highly recommend using them for your next driveway or paving job. <br />

Hi Everyone, <br /> Dave did an excellent job in building a new driveway for me.  He and his team were punctual.  Dave came and gave me a fair estimate and began the work as stated. I would recommend his company and actually have already recommended him to three people who need pavement work done.  <br /> I told my friends and family about this project and word of mouth spreads.  I would hire Dave and his team again for any pavement work that needs to be done.
