I hired them back in 2014 and wrote the review. Well, the Milgard window screens they installed were not able to be removed. The screens are too big. I only discovered this this year. This seems to be more a problem with the manufacturer, though the installers should have noticed this. I have been dealing now through American Reliable since June and Carlos has been polite and attentive. I've called this company 4-5 times though about this and Milgard still hasn't come out to replace or fix the screens. Still waiting as Carlos contacts Milgard.

The whole experience was awesome. We were working with John and he was a thorough professional. Their rates were competitive and the process was smooth. They got it done in no time and without any issues. Would refer them to my friends and family any day..

It went very well. I am very pleased with the entire process - from when they came out with samples and brochures for advice of which windows would work best with what I've got existing, to the scheduling, to giving me names and numbers of references, to my having to re-schedule the install date to the actual install date.
On the day of install, they were here from 9-12 and they got everything cleaned up and removed and new windows installed. I wish the workers had paid a little more attention to detail by taking off a few of the existing screen holders on the outside or cleaning the finger smudges on the panes or not stepping on the plants on the outside, but as far as the window install itself, it was fine. I was present the whole time.
band We really liked our rep Tony from American Reliable Windows and Doors and the price and service guaranty they he laid out for us was really way better than the other two estimates we got. We got three estimates and each of them had something unique to mention specifically. All together we decided to go with American Reliable Windows and Doors because we felt that they were a large enough company to give us a the best deal but small enough to give us the service we were looking for. We were about to go with another company that has numerous radio adds on the radio, but luckily we got the third estimate from them after I got a recommendation from a friend to call them....and we saved over $3000 for a much higher quality windows- Sierra Pacific windows which are much nicer than the other brand we were about to buy.
When we got our windows installed we were very happy with the timing and attitude of the installers. They were clean, polite and they finished in 1 day. The process from making appointment, getting our measurements and having them installed was very easy. Dianna the receptionist was very accommodating to be able to schedule the installation on a timeline that I was comfortable with. My husband is especially pleased with the windows and the money I saved. I still can't believe I was about to spend 3000 more for windows that weren't as good. I would definitely recommend this company to my friends and family.

American Reliable Window (ARW) came to our house to give us a bid to install windows in three openings (new construction) and french doors in another opening (again, new construction). I knew nothing about window installation at this time. The ARW representative recommended certain windows and doors, and they looked ok in the sample/book, so I hired ARW. However, ARW brought "box" windows and installed them in new construction. Box windows can be used only for replacement of pre-existing windows. The reason is that new construction (basically, holes in walls without windows) requires "flashing" around the opening - flashing draws water away from the openings as opposed to water (rain) coming into the house around the edges of the box windows. When existing windows are replaced, flashing was done when the original windows were installed, because this is required by the code - failing to install flashing is not just a code violation, but negligence because rain will come into the house and cause damage to the house as well as risk mold. So ARW put box windows in new construction, and then a rain storm came about 2 weeks later, and rain was dripping into my house, like a little shower. I have a video of the rain dripping in, and I have photos of water coming in all around all of the 3 windows ARW installed, as well as the french doors (the "shower" coming into my house is at the top of the french doors). I sent the video and photos to ARW, and John, the owner called me. He stated that he was sorry and would like to resolve it, but we have not resolved it, so I contacted Angie's List. I always prefer resolution to a lawsuit, and really would like to resolve this with Angie's List, and we could always pursue a legal remedy if we cannot resolve this through Angie's List. We will have to pay someone to get rid of the ARW windows, then flash the openings for the 3 windows and french doors, then install new windows and new french doors. The reason is that, after the flashing is done, the openings will be smaller, because of the flashing materials that go around the edge of the openings. Since the box windows ARW installed fit very snugly, they will not fit after the windows are flashed properly in accordance with building code requirements. Accordingly, the ARW windows are useless to use. Another contractor came here and told me that it will cost us between $30,000 and $150,000 to correct the work done by ARW and to install windows and French doors correctly, after installing proper flashing. He said the scaffolding alone, needed to reach the windows that ARW installed from the inside with no flashing, will cost about $20,000 to rent. Please let me know if you need any more details.

They installed 7 windows and 2 sliding doors. Everything seems to have turned out well. We had 1 window that leaked a little during a big rain storm, but they came right back out and repaired it for us.

Ordered the doors and paid for 1/2 of the cost in AUGUST OF 2013 doors were promised middle of SEPTEMBER, By middle of OCTOBER, I CALLED THEM, since they had not had the courtesy to call me for an update. The customer service rep said she would check on it and call me back, a week went by and she NEVER CALLED BACK. called again twice in November, finally a response and the door arrived in DECEMBER. Scheduled installation and the company changed the date on me twice!! Called me the morning of the installation that was scheduled for 9am to let me know the crew was stuck in traffic. 3 hours later , the crew arrives!
During the installation there were many shortcuts taken.
The wood that was used for the frame was completely different from the door.
The hole for the deadbolt was not made deep enough
Missing screws for the hardware in 4 different areas, all the hinges, the floor hardware, one on the lock
The hardware on the lock was put on backwards.
The next day when my carpenter arrived to stain the door, he pointed out all the flaws and shortcuts. I asked him not to begin work and I took photos of the problems and emailed them to the sales rep. I let him know that this was a huge flaw as it shows poor craftsmanship and attention to detail. After three calls later, and letting him know that if this was not corrected, I would put this on Angies List. I can provide the pictures of all these flaws and I would Never Use This Company. Not only did they waste my time, they have no integrity .

. It actually started when the sales guy came to the door selling windows. Normally I tell all sales people to go away before they even start but I did need some new windows. I let him give me a quote. I thought it a good deal, and after making a couple calls I couldn't ind better (though he said he would match). A few weeks later (windows are all custom sizes), they came and installed. They said I wouldn't have to repair any paint or stucco. I really didn't see how this would be possible (a few of the windows were replacing 2 windows next to each other - with frames and stucco between) but they pretty much did it. A team of about 4 or 5 guys put all the windows in in a few hours, took away my old windows , and it looks great. Where 2 windows were replaced by one, minor painting is required, but so minor nobody would notice who wasn't looking for it. I'm very happy with their work.

They knew exactly what I was talking about and what I needed. The man that came out to talk to me name John about the windows was very good, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. He made recommendations to me that saved me money. He worked hard to make sure that my windows were ordered and in as soon as possible.

I had interviewed more than 10 companies. I am very happy with the results. John was clear, consistent and delivered excellent windows at a fair price. I had hard to fit 1950's windows He even advocated with the manufacturer, allowing us to create our own window design, as all the stock designs were not working in the space. Pleaseant, honest. Workmen in and out on time. Recommended.
Word to the wise: I was careless about preserving the wired alarms, which cost me a LOT to replace.

They charged $6000 for 13 windows, which I considered a good price. There were a few little minor things, but for the most part everything went very well. They did it in 1 day. They cleaned up. They didn?t show me how to do the cleaning. It turns out we have to raise the lower window up a little bit before releasing the part that comes in. If not, it gets stuck about half an inch. I had to get them to come back out. They came out the next day. They did put the screens on backward. They were a bit late, but they did call to let me know about that. At least one member on the crew was good. I have recommended them to my handyman. My handyman works for a contractor, and they may actually contact him for possibly doing some work with him.
