American Sprinkler was prompt to book a winterization for my sprinkler system and this was to be performed on November 1st. Overall, I liked the service, with the "B" rating due to a lack of communication on the window and being unable to contact anyone to see when I could expect the crew to show up. They gave me an 8 AM - 1 PM window for the appointment. The crew arrived at 3:15 PM. The man I spoke with who performed the service apologized and said the paperwork got mixed up for the appointment. It was frustrating to plan my day around that window and I am glad I was home when they did get here. I left voicemails at their office, but it appeared that no one was on call to answer any customer questions and I didn't have the crew's direct contact info. Other than that - I was impressed with the service. The two men that showed up were friendly and thorough. They answered my questions about my system and I asked about getting one of my zones redone next year. I'm inclined to go with them again next year when the sprinklers come out again.

Terrible company to work with. Reached out to them because of their good reviews here. I needed an estimate for repairs to the irrigation system at my new home. At no time was I told that I would be charged to have some one come provide an estimate. $150 for an estimate is ridiculous and I didn’t know about it until the bill arrived. They completed some repairs and as soon as they left I found multiple issues with heads not working and breaks int the system even though they “fixed” everything. When I called to have them come back and complete the work properly, they wanted to charge me again! I will never do business with this outfit again.

The startup went well until it was discovered that two heads weren't getting sufficient flow. Determined that after many years, the line to the two heads was being crimped by tree roots. Scheduled service to pull a new line to the zone and extend another zone at the same time. All went as planned and the system is fully operational.

The team sent out was punctual and professional. They went to work to understand how the system was working, how if would work best (for lawn coverage and head locations), eliminated zones and repaired broken heads. I was very happy with their service and will be using them going forward!

Short version: don't pre-pay them a penny - they'll take the money and run. Detailed version: On September 8, 2017 I paid for a fall shut down, at the same time pre-paid additional for a 2018 startup/shut down. Their fall team marked a number of heads with damaged seals or repairs necessary and said they would have them repaired in the Spring startup. During the same discussion they advised I install an outdoor timer so I wouldn't need to take time off work for future appointments. I said that sounds great and they recorded the info on my work order and left. This year Monday March 12th we emailed back and forth to confirm 8am Monday April 16th to handle the startup, head repairs, wiring, and controller replacement. The morning of April 16th Jane at the main office emailed me a cancellation because of weather - it was an ice storm with good reason - but they could have completed the interior wiring, controller move, and prepped everything for quick startup in the near future. When I called they wouldn't do that, and unfortunately it only got worse from there. Rather than keep their cancelled appointment at the front of the line, they pushed my startup to six weeks later at Thursday May 24th at 8am. My second vacation day wasted for American Sprinkler. Their truck arrived almost two hours late after I called the main office. They didn't have any of our fall shut down history, previous tech notes on the heads / zones needing repair, or the emails from March with their main office itemizing the work required. Their crew claimed no knowledge, no equipment, and no time available for the repairs and controller move. They spent about 25 minutes at our house turning on the water, marking flags on the heads with low pressure, and explained they had to leave for their next appointment, understood I was losing patience, and that we were going into a heat wave that would destroy my landscaping without functioning sprinklers. The crew promised me the main office would call me shortly. I never received a call, so I called a few hours later and got the same response that they were too busy to make it back out until June 23rd. I told them it was unreasonable and unacceptable, that my plants would die in that time, and their office staff said they would have the owner call me back to see if he could adjust the schedule. He never called, so I hired another company to come out and fix their mistakes. I emailed Jane at the main office that I wouldn't need any of their services in the future and to cancel my June 23rd appointment. I was never contacted back, wasn't refunded for the no show 2018 work, and topped it off by calling miss dig on Friday to spray paint and flag my front drive concrete/yard for the non existent appointment. I called to remind them that I was forced to hire someone else and the appointment was cancelled, in reply I heard plenty of attitude in their tone that yeah they knew I was off the schedule.

Luckily the previous owners had winterized it, so it was a matter of turning it on and checking the sprinkler heads. The guys were very knowledgeable and were able to answer all the questions that I had.

We had a few rough spots to start. First, they sent someone out to do a spring start up for my sprinklers but i was out of town. Second, they seemed to have a disconnect at the office on what i signed up with on angie's list and what they were to provide -- their technician thought it was for a sprinkler start up. I also think their window of technician showing up in a 5 hour bracket is way too excessive. However, when John and Joe arrived, they clearly knew their stuff and worked quickly and diligently to not only inspect my existing system but to replace 4 heads. If i was rating them on their back office and scheduling, i would only give them a C but because of John and Joe's expertise, i will give them an A.

The start-up was fine. The reason I didn't give them an 'A' rating is because even though they claim to handle emergencies, they couldn't come to fix my broken water line. The "next opening wasn't until nine days later". In the meanwhile, I had to completely shut off the main water valve to the system, and get another contractor who could come out sooner.

After purchasing their spring start up special I received no contact from the company. I called them to follow up and was told that there was an issue with the communication between Angie's List and the company. Once I did contact them the repairs were done as scheduled. Very happy with the service.
