This was a continuation of work done with American Stone. <br /> <br /> Steve's work is excellent and service is fantastic, I highly recommend American Stone.

Steve came to our home several times, as well as a few gentlemen that work for him. We also visited his shop which has a terrific selection. All high quality marble was installed well, looks and fits great. Fireplace mantle had to have some wood cut from back to accommodate marble. Steve provides great customer service and terrific installation service. <br />

<p>I originally contacted Steve because of a promo running for Quartz countertops. After speaking with him we decided to use him for the countertops as well as kitchen cabinets. We had a quote in hand from the place we originally were going to order the cabinets from and he said he would beat it by $500 for the same exact cabinets. His price for the Quartz we chose were about 30% lower than any other quotes we received.</p> <p>From the beginning Steve was responsive. He came out to take measurements of the space the day after I contacted him. The only knock on the whole process would be with the cabinets. Let me start by saying that most of this is not Steve's fault. Some cabinets came damaged. Steve  always responded to my concerns quickly, but the process from start to finish seemed a little drawn out. Once a few of the cabinet headaches were settled, it was time for countertops. He had the countertops cut,  delivered and installed the <strong><em>day after</em></strong> my cabinets were installed! From my experience, this process usually takes about 7 days. This was awesome and greatly appreciated.  The kitchen came out great and the countertops are gorgeous, we are extremely happy with the outcome.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>All said and done, I would use Steve for my next project and I would recommend him in a heartbeat.</p> <br />

Not only is Steve Young one of the nicest guys I've ever met, he was the most knowledgeable about stonework. He's the owner of the company but came out on a Saturday morning himself to work on my countertop. We will definitely be calling again. Outstanding service! <br />

It went really well, they were on time, on budget and it was incredibly clean. <br />

I had a signed contract with Home Depot to install a kitchen counter top but could not find a granite slab that we liked.  Steve came recommeded to me by a good friend.  He took us to couple of places and then recommended a couple of places that we can go visit and pick out slabs.  His guys came out as scheduled to make templates and then can and professionally installed the counters as agreed to.  They were very professional, and cleaned-up after themselves.  What I liked and respect the most about working Steve was his honesty and the fact that he delivered as agreed to.  <br /> I have highly recommended him to many friends and family.  I will never go to another counter guy again. <br /> <br /> <br />

Steve came out to my house the same day I called to provide an estimate. Once I gave the go ahead templates were done the next day and the countertop and sink were installed five days later. Installers were fast and efficient and they left our kitchen as clean as they found it. Sink was installed with anchor clips which my plumber told me was correct and something he rarely sees. I would recommend Steve and American Stone to anyone looking for a high quality and economic kitchen remodel. <br />

All was done well, as promised. I could quibble about the $200 removal charge which just meant taking off old countertops - probably 30 minute job max,  (did not even take them away). Overall experience was positive however. <br />

Steve/American Stone are true professionals who will work hard to make sure you are 100% satisfied with the work.  We went to so many disappointing yards and shady fabricators before finally landing on the goldmine that is American Stone.  It is full of incredible remnants at fantastic prices.  Out of all the yards we visited, his was by far the biggest with the best colors. <br /> After we picked out the slab, Steve came by personally to measure the space.  It was fabricated the next day and installed the day after.  The turnaround was incredibly fast at no cost to the craftsmanship.  Most importantly, the countertop is STUNNING.  Words cannot describe it... you have to see it in person.  Steve had a great eye for placing the designs just right for the countertop and backsplash.  He was also incredibly communicative and accommodating throughout the whole process.  There was a misunderstanding about the type of faucet (4 in vs 8 in) we had and Steve took it upon himself to reimburse us for the difference when we had to buy new faucets.  We had some trouble installing the faucets because of our sink's very thick flange.  Steve called on his men to come the next day to drill the faucet holes more so we could install the faucets at no cost to us.  Steve and all of his employees were courteous and professional at every step of the process.  I could not recommend them more highly and will definitely be returning to American Stone for all my future stone needs! <br />

Steve was a pleasure to deal with.  He was easy to reach and very accommodating.  He made picking the stones  very simple and his prices were great.  Delivery and installation went very smoothly.  The guys showed up when they were supposed to and I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly and easily they were installed.  I will definitely call American Stone for my next project!

American stone responded quickly to my request for extensive countertop fabrication. They came up with some good ideas to make the most of a relatively small kitchen. The work was completed within a few days subsequently receiving a call to set up an installation  date. Steve Young, the owner of American stone, coordinated with the G.C. & flooring contractor and installed our tops within 2 weeks of our initial meeting.  My wife and I were more than happy and would certainly have no problem using American Stone on future projects .

<p>First and foremost, the countertop portion of my kitchen project went incredibly well thanks in whole to Steve and his company, American Stone.  Here's why:</p> <p>Steve came by recommendation from someone who previously used him.  In all honesty, he was one of two recommendations I got.  We chose to visit him first since his store and hours were more convenient at the time.  My wife and I first went to his store to chat with him, check out his inventory, and to get initial pricing and timelines.  He stayed with us offering recommendations on what we should choose based on our kitchen layout and palette.  His recommendation of absolute black granite on top of our all white cabinets was a great recommendation.  He kept his distance as well so that my wife and I can chat on our own here and there.  We did not feel pressured to commit.  Also, while we were there, he helped us draft a rough blueprint of our kitchen so that he can give us a rough estimate.  His initial estimate was priced, as we felt, right at market price for that grade of granite and with the guarantee of NO SEAMS!  In fact, he gave us his personal cell phone number and told us to call him when we're ready and he'd come out to measure the next day.  And that's exactly how it went.  We called him Sunday.  He came out on Monday.  Amazing!</p> <p>At this point, we have still not seen the other company.  Steve came to my house prepared with what he needed to measure.  Along the way, he explained each measurement and why it must be the way it is.  He also offered multiple options on cuts such as round, bullnose, outside and inside radius, etc.  He also helped me read the dimensions required by my farm sink in order to get the cut right.  When he was done, he was able to give me a price, on the spot!  In fact, his price, which included several freebies, was revised to below market price.  But here's the kicker... he guaranteed installation in 3 days.  3 days!!!  With the price, stone grade and cut, and the guaranteed install date, we decided not to see the other company.  That's not what we or anyone should normally do, but it really was that good.</p> <p>Almost there now, and here's the best part of the project... his crew of 3 arrived at my house early on Thursday, right on time.  They came in and began laying out their tools on top of all the drop cloths they put down.  They took final measurements, as a double-check, and confirmed that it's right on.  They first helped me bring up my farm sink from the basement which was very heavy in order to measure it for fit before they dropped it in.  They used a state-of-the-art dolly to wheel the large pieces in.  It left no marks on my floors.  They carefully placed the slabs down on top of the counters first before securing them so that they can be aligned properly.  They then dry-fitted the farm sink and made not of the notches which needed to be made to accommodate the sink.  They removed the sink and began the notching process.  What impressed me was the level of careful detail they used to make their markings, on top of masking tape of course.  At the same time when the one guy was making the cut, another was holding a heavy-duty shop vac to collect all of the dust.  I'll tell you, not a spec ended up anywhere other than in the vacuum.  The cuts were perfect, the sink fit great, and everything was aligned.  They then proceeded to secure it all using a bonding agent (probably silicone) to the cabinets.  Nice beads, you can't even see it when you look up from the bottom.  Finally, they gave it all one final polish and cleaned up the entire kitchen with the shop vac as well as a broom and dust pan.  They were extremely efficient, clean, courteous, and professional.  Nice job!</p> <p>Finally, Steve called to ensure that everything was to my liking.  After I confirmed that it all went great, he took final payment and sent me a receipt via email.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> </p> <p>Just a side-note, and one I did not tell Steve beforehand out of my own fear of an inflated price.  After all, I still don't know him.  My kitchen project required that the counters be installed by Friday.  Based on my projected deadlines, if they counters came in beyond Friday, I was not going to complete the kitchen before a major party I was throwing the following weekend.  I didn't even make mention of any of this and he offered and install date of Thursday... with the good price!  Wow!</p> <p>All-in-all, there are no worries when you deal with Steve Young and American Stone.  You can be sure that you're getting a rock solid price, great quality material, a super-professional installation crew, and an incredibly aggressive schedule.  He's a good man to know!<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> </p>

Steve and his team were great! They were very helpful and patient in assisting me as I chose the perfect granite stone to install in my newly renovated bathroom. It was a last minute order and I requested that Steve expedite the installation, as I had family visiting from out of the country. I wanted everything to be completed on time and perfect for my theme. Steve totally accommodated my request and completed the job in a short amount of time! I was very pleased and so was my family. I received so many compliments on the bathroom (including how pretty the vanity top was that Steve installed!) I appreciate Steve's services and will certainly be using him again for my upcoming kitchen renovation! J.C.O.

It went great. From the first day i met Steve, I knew I made a good decision in calling his company. He was very professional and knowledgeable. His pricing was very competitive. They are were on time and did a quality job on the install. Ive been recommending him to all my family and friends. Great experience!!!

I cannot thank American Stone enough! We absolutely adore our new counter tops! We cannot wait for our next project (our bathroom) we will definitely be going back to American Stone very soon!

They installed my counter tops perfect. Everything I ever wanted and more!

Very poor workmanship. Seam line visible from 6 ft away. Residue left smeared all over the granite, visible scratches, left gap at wall, two pieces did not meet properly at the edge, counter a bit short of cabinet. I was to sign off with the workman after installation. Told installer I wasn't happy and he walked straight to the door and left while I was talking, he did say, and I'm parapharsing, before he left....I'm to clean it up myself. Called the office and was met with surprise, seems no one ever complained about the seam line before. Sales Manager inspected the workmanship and agreed it was 'sloppy.' Customer Service was scheduled for 1/9/09 (Friday). They didn't show up and never called; this was scheduled at least 2-1/2 week in advance. Another surprise when I called the office that Saturday and spoke with Jose, no one knew Customer Service didn't arrive as scheduled or called to advise they weren't coming. Of course, Customer Service doesn't work weekends. Called Monday and spoke with Kris Boehler as she's responsible for scheduling appointments. It seems she was told by another employee my situation was 'all taken care of'. Kris was again surprised it was NOT. Now tell me, when was this to be 'taken care of' Sunday? I scheduled another appointment for 1/23. If they show up I will be surprised!
