Ameriserv took my deposit and never installed a garage door. Ameriserv rescheduled my appointment numerous times and blamed it on parts not arriving for the install. After a year the manager at Ameriserv that I had been communicating with “Chaz or Chas” was let go and the new management stopped returning phone calls after a couple months. I debated filing a police report for theft or fraud, but wasn’t worth it over 500 dollars. DO NOT hire Ameriserv!

Basically it took 14 months to complete the work. The work started July 2015, which turned out that it was the wrong door or incorrect size (it has been so long that I don't remember what the problem was). Then 6 weeks later the brought another door and it turned out that it was not insulated. Then another 6-8 weeks of me calling and begging for some attention. They would setup appointment and not showing up. Finally I decided to get Angie's list help with them. So few weeks later they showed up with insulation for the door and installed it. At that point they needed to put the fixtures back on and the technician made a mistake and screwed to wrong location. So then for the next few months, I had 2 managers showing up to see what the problem was. Each time I had to explain and show them the problem. They would agree that they needed to replace the parts. But then I would not hear from them. So long store short, it was over 14 months before the work was done. Last summer, when we had a big storm and power outage, I tried to open the garage door manually with no success. I could pull on the cord and pull up the door, but it never lock down in the lever lock. I had help from one of my neighbors and he couldn't lock it either. So, in order for me to get my car out of the garage, he had to hold the garage door while I drive my car out! So, in summary, I am not happy with their work style or quality of work. And, I would not ever use them again.

Unreasonable charges for trip charge, time on location and work performed. Service tech related "untruths" to his supervisor...left grease on doors...did not tighten springs as indicated on invoice...false time on invoice Customer service representative unwilling assist. We hired this company to repair our garage opener early in the week of August 7. It took three weeks, and we still do not have all that we need Initially, they arrived at a time when we were not expecting (which would become typical of them). Then we were told that they did not have the type of opener in stock and would need to order it. I explained that we would be gone for the weekend and coming week and asked if we could have it asap so as to have our home secure while we were gone. We were promised by a man named Mike that they would overnight it and due to this request we would need to pay the full amount which I did. We never received the opener until over one week late, and once again they arrived at a time when I specifically said I would not be home. They installed it without my being here and left one car garage opener thrown over with some shoes that we have outside our door. We were also told that because it took so long we would be compensated for our earlier than usual payment. We never received any compensation. We requested a second car garage opener since we have two cars and have had to call twice to remind them of this. We have yet to receive this, and we are now in our third week of dealing with this company. This company is filled with incompetency and unprofessionalism. Obviously, we will never deal with them again, and I would advise others to follow suit. There are too many decent garage opener companies in this area. Go to one of them!!

The sales person was very nice and professional. He gave me a quote, and I told him that was in-line with other quotes that we had gotten. I also told him that I would need to discuss this with my wife before we made a decision of that magnitude. He understand, but he said that he needed to call his sales manager. He got the sales manager on the phone, and the sales manager tried to pressure me to commit on the spot, and he did so by reducing the price a significant amount (approximately 45%). I told them that my wife and I discuss all transactions over a few hundred dollars, and of course, this qualified as one of the transactions that my wife and I needed to discuss together. They told me that I could lock in the quote by putting my credit card on file and could get back with them tomorrow after discussing with my wife. This is a nation-wide company, so I did not see the harm. I gave them my credit card number, and I will not do that again. My wife and I decided that we were not comfortable going with a company that pressures potential customers like a used car lot, and we were concerned that they were able to reduce the price on the “same product” by approximately 45% off from all other quotes. So we went with another company. After a week, I noticed that Ameriserv charged my credit card. In fact, they charged my card for several hundred more than the quote amount. I called their corporate office three times over a two week period, and they would not get it resolved. So I contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge. This has been a mess to deal with such an unprofessional company, but it has been a good education for me. I never post online, but hopefully, this post can be an education for you as well and maybe help you avoid an unpleasant situation.

we were not completely satisfied & had to have our handyman add a piece so that the bottom of the door met the driveway. They told us that our driveway was uneven & we would have to hire someone to add more concrete to even up the driveway. In fact, all that our handy man had to do was add an extra piece to the bottom of the garage door. Our previous door formed a seal with the driveway when the door was closed. A little over2yrs later, the door went off track, they charged us $200.00 to fix it.( It was something our neighbor said he could have done for free.) The company said it was our fault, & it was due to the door opening & closing a lot. Only one of our cars is in the garage, & most days is only in & out once, occasionally 2X. Some days , not at all. Isn't a garage door meant to open & close?

Scheduled service on December 9, 2016 for installation on December 29, 2016.
At approximately 1:00PM (the latest time they were supposed to arrive) the company called me to inform me that the doors at the warehouse didn't contain all the parts required and that they would need to reschedule the install.
Install was rescheduled for January 9, 2017 between 10:00AM and 1:00PM. The tech did not arrive until 3:45PM. He promptly began removing the old doors and installing the new doors. After 4:30 I walked outside to place some items in my vehicle and noticed that the wrong doors were being installed on my home. They were not the right color and they were not the right size. The installer called his superior (Chas Allison) who told me they would make it right and order the correct door but I would still have to pay the full amount today even thought the work wasn't done.
The tech continued installing the door and finished at around 9:00PM. During my inspection I found that he had split several floor joist while installing the new doors. This would render the anchors for the door dangerous since they could fall out of broken wood. The tech quickly got to work moving them after I noticed the split members. After the tech left I noticed one of the doors was not installed leveled and that one of the door openers was not fully operational.
The following day I was contacted to schedule a new date to get the top panels replaced with the correct size They wouldn't be able to do it until later in January... I was then contacted again saying they would need to reschedule for February 4, 2017... Saturday was February 4 2017 and I got yet another call telling me that the parts were not in the warehouse and that they would need to...again reschedule my install for a later date. So over 2 months since I ordered the garage doors and I still haven't received a completed job... but they've been paid...

Initially the install was flawless and I was extremely please. 18 months later, we were having an issue and needed service that was under warranty. Four service calls later, two of which were no call, no show, I have been charged $400 for a repair and the doors are still not working. It is disheartening to see this has happened to numerous individuals prior. I have messages into Joel Cobb and Bob Signore, both listed as principals, but expect to hear nothing. If I do, I will inform all of the outcome, good or bad. It just a shame their ineptness forces me to take the time to warn others. Buyer beware!!!!

He pressured my husband to order right then and indicated our $300 service charge would be credited if we ordered at that time. so my husband paid the $750 deposit required to place the order and the technician indicated it would be ordered and installed in 2 days. He could not provide a receipt until he got back to the office. Upon getting back to the office, he emailed the receipt that stated there was a 50% restocking fee (we were not told this at the time of the order and payment). The two days pass and we never received a call to schedule so my husband called to check on the status of the door, he was told by a lady in the office that it had not arrived but they would call us when it did. Meanwhile, we got a second opinion and found out that the bottom panel could be replaced and installed within 1 DAY and would only cost $350 (for the second company). We called Ameriserv back the next day and spoke with Loxley and she indicated the door would not arrive until 3-6 weeks since it was a custom order. She indicated the technician should have known that. I explained that we couldn't wait that long since our door would not close and we no longer wanted the door they supposedly had ordered. I asked her to cancel. She indicated she would and said she would send the notes to the CEO and ask for the refund given the circumstances. She called back the next day to say it had been denied. We asked to speak to a manager and spoke with another lady (Brittany?) who indicated she would also escalate considering the misinformation we were given and the pressure to order without the technician truly finding out that a replacement was available. She was supposed to call back that afternoon. Two days go by and we don't hear from them. We call back and speak with another person (a male) who indicates he can't find any notes on our order and no indication that it was ever cancelled. We have been given the run around and are EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED with their lack of customer service and deceptive practices. No one seems to care about their quality or reputation. We had used this company earlier in the year and what we thought was a shipping mixup, I now know is just their practice of telling the customer they can repair in 2 days when they know that it will be at least a week or longer. TERRIBLE experience with this company.

Good: Right on time, professional, and quickly changed out the springs. Concerning: Initial quote on the phone was anywhere between $59 and $189 to repair a broken spring plus service call fee. When technician arrived, it was recommended both springs be replaced, which makes sense but this was not mentioned on the initial estimate. Since the part number and length/gauge of spring details were left by the technician, I browsed for the same springs on line and found the pair at a third of the cost (>$100) but Ameriserv did not directly explain why the spring cost was so high compared to what I found online. I received one email reply after about a week later and it only asked if we had spoken via phone. After I replied to that response, I received no further communication. They also offered a warranty for the springs/door for $89 a year, but after five years, that equals the amount of replacing both springs. Typical life for a spring is about ten years, I did not see the benefit in a warranty at that price.

Terrible. I signed a contract on June 2, 2016 and paid a $740.54 deposit on garage doors. The installation was supposed to be on June 24, 2016. I received a call on June 24, the installation date, explaining that my entire order didn't come in. A new date of July 5, 2016 was set. On the 5th I received a call telling me that all of my order didn't come in. This time I was supposed to get another call with a new date. I never heard from anyone. At this point I just want my deposit back, and I will obtain someone else to install my garage doors.
