They did it wrong and stomped my neighbors garden all to pieces. Caused a little friction but it has been resolved.

Our neighbor decided to replace the fence between our properties. Our gate is attached to that fence (which was ours' - the rules about who's fence is who's is very unclear). Anyway we decided to change our part of the easement fence which was a strip of fence three feet long and a gate perpendicular to that. The work was good, and the workers were very nice. But it hasn't even been a month and the gate has settled to such and extent that we can no longer use the lock. The gate is now grazing the house and taking off the paint. The other issue we had with them is that in mixing concrete to use on the posts, they splashed concrete on our NEW paint job. Getting them to come and fix it was not working so we settled on fixing it ourselves for a small discount on the job they did on our gate. Not the best experience, but the workers were very nice and easy to work with. <br />

The young men who installed the fence, and they started on one end and the other end at the same time, and they ended up with a small slack in the middle of the fence 40 feet down. I called the company, and the salesman came out, and they came back, tore out half the fence and had it redone. I was very happy with the overall job.

My husband and I met with Steve, a salesman from Amherst Fence on September 5 for an estimate. Steve was knowledgeable about fencing and gave us a reasonable estimate for work to be done. When Steve left out meeting (1/3 total cost deposit in hand), he informed us that the office would call us in four weeks to schedule; this didn't happen. Instead, we called the office six weeks after paying our deposit to ask why we hadn't been contacted. The company seems to use an answering service and nobody responded to us within two days of our call. Luckily, Steve gave us his cell phone number, so my husband was able to get in touch with him to schedule work. According to Steve, he had been on vacation and there had been a "scheduling mix-up" in his absence. Work was then finally scheduled to begin the week of October 28 (about four weeks late). The crew came to remove old posts and install new ones, and were supposed to return one week later to complete the fencing (taking into account that we had scheduled tree service, thinking that this fencing would have been completed weeks earlier). The crew did not come back as promised, so I called Steve (who was not as polite to me on the phone as I would have liked) to confirm that the crew would finish the job by that Friday (5 days later than promised after installing the posts). After this ordeal, Steve contacted me the very next day to collect the balance and was 20 minutes late. <br /> Ultimately, the fence is of high quality and looks very nice, and the crew who did the work (and as I understand it, have no control over their schedule) were professional and pleasant. Based on quality alone, I would recommend Amherst Fence. Unfortunately, considering the entire experience, I would not recommend doing business with this company. <br />

house in Kenmore, NYI called for an estimate in June. Being their busiest season, it took about two weeks to meet, consistent with other companies at that time of year. I was told it would take about 4 weeks for the job to begin and would take two days to complete. I was warned that rain could set them back. It was 7 weeks until they actually began, as there had been rain. I hadn't known for sure exactly when they were coming though. I had said Thursday or Friday would be fine on a voicemail, but I guess I still expected a confirmation. <br /> The work was done over three days (two halves and a whole). I am very pleased with the fence. The men who put it in were very professional, hard working and respectful. Overall, I was pleased and would use them again. <br />

They were very good. They did improve on the fence. There was a fault in the fence and the salesman came back and he had them actually tear out half the fence and rebuild it. I am satisfied and I would recommend them.

The owner came himself. He was easy to contact. I needed it done fast....before hard frost. They made the fence look as it had before even though he thought it really needed replacemement. I wish I had somebody with me so I could have help bargaining. I think I should have been able to talk his price down. <br /> <br />

The owner arrived promptly and gave me a very fair estimate. Started work when stated and finished within 3 days, Cleaned up all depris and left yard in perfect condition. <br />

They did a fantastic job. I was very pleased with them. It was a small job, a very small yard. They did a great job. They gave us a very thorough and accurate quote, which we thought was very competitive. They went above and beyond what the quote called for in doing the job and stuck to the original amount. They were prompt and courteous. I would definitely recommend them. We are probably going to use them for the front yard.

We were relatively happy with them. We found out about them through a friend of a friend. It was quick and they were very good.

They were pretty much average. I did not have any problems with them. They did the job in a timely manner.

Steve Cuccia is the owner, and came out to give us the estimate. Very nice man and has been building/installing fences for a very long time. The possibilities are pretty much endless on what you want to do. Wood, aluminum, pvc, ornamental iron, chain link. They do it all. They also have a couple different types of wood such as pine and cedar, and your choice between yellow and red. The color option was something that some other fence companies didn't ever mention. We ended up going with a wood picket fence. The guys that did the install were great. They did the posts first, and let them sit and allow the concrete cure for a couple days. Posts were dug down to 3 feet. During the install of the actual fence, my wife and I were unsure of how much spacing we wanted for the picket fence. They set up the boards in a few different configurations to give us the best view of what each would look like. The fence came out great and the gate across the driveway allows us to keep our dog safe and have plenty of room to play. I would definitely recommend them. Their contact information on Angie's List is different from what is on the business card that Steve gave me. They were punctual, efficent and did a great job. They called ahead of time anounceing when they would arrive. They customer service person was friendly and provided me with information.
