I called Andrew to help repair our garage door sensors because he had provided excellent repair work for us in prior years. He did a quick and good repair job, but I made the mistake of asking for a new system. He quoted a great deal of a price, but I should have balked when he asked for payment up front (with a check made out directly to him, b/c he had been having problems with their credit card processing). Apparently he and his girlfriend have devolved into drug use since our last service and have just taken to swindling customers. He never returned to complete the work the next day as he had promised. I had only been talking with him by email for a couple of years, and he did not respond. A call to his business line returned disconnected. I heard back from his girlfriend on his email a day or two later with a sob story about a death in the family and a lost cellphone, but that was the last I heard from them. Dziuk is a criminal and should be locked behind bars before he steals anyone else's money.

When the work was performed in March 2016, it was well done and prompt, with a fair price. However, in October 2016 I received another unexplained charge from them. I tried calling all numbers on their website and all seemed to be disconnected. I ended up disputing the October charge with my credit card company and getting a new credit card. I don't think this company exists anymore and someone got hold of their records to make a bunch of fraudulent charges. Beware.

We were not able to open the door at all hence both of our cars were locked in -- on a Sunday. We called and they said the repair person would arrive in an hour and they were right on time. (This was facilitated by their current call being in our area.) Here is what they did: HD Extended Cycle Torsion Spring *Replaced 2 Torsion springs 218x25 *Balanced & lubricated door, track & rollers *Performed a visual safety inspection of operation *Installation and labor included All parts are guaranteed for 3 years (unless otherwise stated) and labor for 1 year. We were very satisfied with the work. There was a $100 emergency fee but we expected that and really could not let the work wait until Monday.

The two people from Andrews Door Repair did not show up on June 9 until after 8:00 pm. The man (Andrew?) examined our garage door opener system and said we needed a new motor. (This is already what my husband thought.) None of the work listed on the deal was done. We arranged to have them come back on Monday, June 13, with a new garage door opener. The time frame they gave us was between 11:00 - 1:00. They weren't here by 1:30, so I called their number. The assistant said he had gone to Baltimore to get the motor. So we waited here several more hours, and got no word from them. I finally called their number again and told them not to come, they had kept us waiting all day and never showed.

I used Andrew's Garage Door Repair. The last time I used them it was not satisfactory. They came in to look at the garage door and said he was going to replace the back motor. That process took about 4 weeks. They came out three times and the first two times were good. The reason I signed up to Angie's List is because they give honest feedback. He said he would be back in three days and he wasn't. He did fix it finally. I had to make a lot of phone calls and emails and reminders. I didn't understand that, I mean, I paid him the money he was asking for. So he came and he fixed it and it is working fine. They were here April of 2016. It cost $500.

Was very pleased with the company and service and would recommend. The person that came to measure didn't just measure but looked around and assessed the entire door. Our home is very old (1949) and we usually have issues when getting any work done so I appreciate how thorough the worker was. Stacy in the office is very friendly and contacted me after the measurement, provided brochures etc. I got a very quick estimate and once I agreed got a install date that was also very quick. The day of install the worker came about an hour early (see below) and was very professional and nice. He showed me some issues in the wood after taking down the old door, explained my options since we did not have an outlet for the opener, and explained why he was putting the inside remote where he was putting it because of the brick in the garage. Again very thorough. The entire work took a little under three hours and after he gave me a detailed walk through of what he did and how things worked. I loved the small business owner feel of this company - sincere. Very, pleased with everything and would most certainly recommend and/or use again.

My only downside: The first day they were supposed to come out and measure between 7pm and 9:30pm and did not show. Now they did say in advance that they may not be able to make it, but would have liked a call. They made up for this by calling promptly the next morning to re-schedule and since I was available, they came same day. Second, was on the day of the install they were about an hour early. While I much rather be early than late, it would have been a concern if I didn't opt to take the entire day off instead. Like I said, for me, these were very minor but worth mentioning as full disclosure.

Wires were a mess on one of our garage door sensors, which was the immediate problem, and he fixed that in no time flat. Then he turned to replacing the decrepit sensor on the other side, which was hanging by a thread, with a secure new one with good wire connections. Then he checked out the rest of the system and greased the tracks on the garage doors, so that instead of sounding like a train is passing through the house, you can barely notice them. All this in about a half hour or less.

Our ordeal with this company began on March 30. Between then and now (April 21) we were forced to wait around on FIVE different occasions for them to show up for an appointment, and on FIVE different occasions they never showed. To date, the job has not been fully completed by them, however the check was fully cashed, and we have not heard from them since April 12.
On March 30 they were to come between 1-4pm to fix our garage door opener. They didn't show (NO SHOW #1). I called, and they had no recollection of our appointment but said they would come out that evening. We waited around that evening. They didn't show (NO SHOW #2). The next day (March 31) I received a text saying they were having a personal emergency but they could send someone between 1-5pm. I texted back and said 1-5pm would be great. They didn't show (NO SHOW #3). I called them and they said they didn't get my text. The text I sent to them is still on my phone. Not sure how it went through on my end, but they didn't get it. They were very nice and said they were having a bad week and would come the following evening. I believe that everyone deserves some grace, so I was more than willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. I told them I understood, and that I hoped everything works out ok with the personal issues, and I'd see them the next evening. They came the next evening and quoted us a price to install the garage door opener and to install a keypad. The price was good, however at that point I gladly would have paid more just to get the thing fixed. They installed the opener and said they'd be back in the next few days to put the keypad in. We didn't hear back from them, so my husband called. They said that they will get their orders in on Friday or Monday and will get back to us to schedule a time. We didn't hear from them again, so my husband called on Monday. They said they would come that evening and put the keypad in. They never showed. (NO SHOW #4). My husband called the next day. They said they are having personal issues and another bad week. They told him "You're on the schedule for tonight." My husband asked if they would call us before they came. What happened next is where our grace train ran out. They told him "it's just a keypad" and that they didn't like his tone and hung up. So, because he asked if they would call before they came when they've failed to show up on FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS, he's the one with the problem??? Are you kidding me?? As for it being "just a keypad," it's a keypad that we've already paid for, and that was part of a job they already cashed the check for. And, because "it's just a keypad" does that make it ok for them to continue to blow us off, while we wait for them to show up at scheduled appointments?? If your personal issues are keeping you from fulfilling your business commitments, then refund us the money for the keypad and tell us you can't do the job. Don't treat us like we did something to you, when we've been more than patient with you failing to keep your commitments. After they hung up, my husband called back and said he is sorry for their personal issues and their bad week, and he calmly explained that he just asked if they could call before they come that evening. They again said we were on the schedule for that evening. They never showed. (NO SHOW #5). That was April 12, and we have yet to hear from them. It's fascinating to me, particularly since my husband asked them for quotes on replacing both of our garage doors. We have since purchased and installed a keypad. If it makes them feel good about keeping money and not completing a job, then by all means keep the money. I'm just happy to be done with these people. Again, failing to show up on FIVE different occasions, cashing a check for a job and not completing the entire job, and then treating a customer like they are the problem is NOT ok. If they can't keep their business commitments because of personal issues, then they shouldn't continue to make those commitments. Our community has a resource where we give each other business recommendations, and I'm going to make sure to let them know to stay clear of this company, unless they have countless hours to kill waiting around for people to not show up. I'm sure they will have a defensive response to this review, as they've had to every other negative review on this site. However, the facts are the facts, and I have documented all the facts of this long, frustrating, ordeal with this company.
They were prompt and knew what was wrong immediately. I paid for a tune up as well and I'm just not sure if they actually did that, which is why I am not giving them an A. The repairman went through things so quickly that I couldn't quite get a word in to make sure he had done all that he was supposed to. That being said, everything seems to be working correctly, so I would use them again if I needed to.
