Addition to Existing Structure Building Service
$380,000
He is a thieve who has stolen our money. We hired him for an addition to the house. After he got all the money we had he just left us with no house where to leave in the mid of the winter. It was a nightmare. Make sure you have a signed contract and a lawyer but I strongly recommend to run away from this individual. I begged him to finish the house but did not care. A liar. . I would give zero stars but I could not write the review.
Response from Andy's Masonry and Renovation, Inc.
"This is an issue that was caused by the client. They tried to negotiate the price down from the beginning. We did our best to save them money but unfortunately, they kept adding them to the job expecting their changes to be free. In addition, the changes required approval of revised plans that took time to accomplish and were beyond our control. Inclement weather caused flooding that needed to be rectified during the wait for plans and approvals. Beside the house is old house had brick outside concrete block, NO insulation To bring up to building code we had to frame entire house not just the addition insulated. Roff had damage we had to fix ad new plywood. Bay the time the modified blueprint come back from city With approval from the inspector I framed in the house, After framing I vas finishing the infills and connections between old and new part They decided to hire a cheaper contractor in mid-job. That work failed city inspection 3 times. Their complaint stems from the fact that we could not do the work for the price they wanted to pay. Their claim about theft if a pure fabrication. If there was any theft, the police would have been called. They were not! This statement about theft is defamatory and actionable. It is a complete fabrication and a lie! Please disregard it. It simply is not true. We only do work that meets city building codes and we do not cut corners. Unfortunately, that is exactly what this customer wanted us to do and is unhappy that we will not do that. I got pictures and videos in daily basis it can be proven from there what we did Don?t forget I was not paid fully. and the canopy blueprint at side door I paid the engineer. Drawing material labor After November you stopped the paycheck, I still helped you till February."

Andy and his team did a high quality job in replacing the interlocking pavers on our back patio. It wasnâ t a big job but they helped with paver selection and then delivered the finished job exactly in line with the scope. The work was complete in less than a week despite heavy rainfall. Highly recommend!

The project was a repair to house foundation with water issues as well as interior work consisting of drywall installation, new insulation and finishing/painting of drywall. The job was completed professionally and in a timely fashion keeping the property clean each work day. The company was also hired by two other family members. for their homes for larger projects and they were also very happy with the final results. Of their renovations.

Andy is very personal and professional, Andy has done 3 renovations for us and all we are completed with the greatest of quality, the bathroom renovation was perfect with all our friends complimenting about how great a job was done, Andy installed pot lights for us and my wife just said it would be great to have one over the fireplace and to her surprise Andy went above all expectations and installed one there at no charge, he is now removing the floor in our powderroom and hallway and replacing it with porcelain. Major Renovation - Multiple Rooms
We hired Andy for a complete reno on my sonâ s first house and it turned out a very very horrible experience. We shouldâ ve seen that from the beginning when we questioned him about his electrician as well as that it took three times to get the contract right before signing. Well, more than 3 months later (contract end date was identified as June 26) and 4 (four!) electricians later, the job is not even 50% complete, certainly not the electrical (which was supposed to be completed first and is still in dismal rough-in state) - so that we had to fire Andy, terminate the contract, and now seek ways to get our money back. The workmanship so far has been extremely poor and full of deficiencies on just about everything he started and no single task has been fully completed - most of his tasks (shower tiles, potlights, electrical panel, rough in) had to be repeated at least twice to correct deficiencies. His incompetence and inability to comprehend and communicate are quite remarkable. He consistently failed to communicate and respond to texts and emails, failed to provide schedule updates and a reconciliation of contract value relative to percentage of work completed for the various reno tasks identified in the contract. Importantly, he failed to provide (1) the license number of any of the four electricians that he involved in the project, and (2) the ESA permit for the electrical work as it turned out that he never obtained one. Throughout this 3-4 month ordeal, we heard many untrue and deceitful statements about permits and the sequence of work as almost all of the tasks were performed out of order and in a way that compromised the end quality of his work. All these have resulted in very poor workmanship, multiple deficiencies that even other contractors/trades people donâ t want to touch, and none of the tasks to 100% completion (not even the removal/disposal of debris). We can substantiate the above with a full set of photos, videos and testimonials from other trades that we are bringing in to obtain estimates to fix Andyâ s mess and mistakes and complete the work. I am available to provide a full and detailed warning reference to anyone that might be considering Andy for their project after he managed to ruin my sonâ s first house experience and reno dreams.
Response from Andy's Masonry and Renovation, Inc.
"This job was a disaster from the first day. The client kept changing the requirements daily and expected us to make the changes at no cost and without affecting the deadline. The electrical issues he is alluding to started from the fact that he objected to the use of a licensed electrician who happens to be black. He wanted a white electrician. He states that there was no approval of the electrical work. In fact was. The client was continuously calling Hydro As we told after 10-days will be answer. Wich, they did Needed to pay for Panel upgrade. Wy did not told him. After Lots of complain I gad second licensed Electrician, the same story second day call Hydro the client is not talking trough the phone was yelling screaming ??hi es a layer did not apply start to send messages to electrician he explained once, but everyday calls messages get him upset Telling him if one mor call or message he will cancel and walk away. After the panel change did not want to continue with the client telling me they are impossible asking me way I stay. So I called 3-d electrician he was working north and having inspections but we continuously kept talking about the project I prepared everything so at the day he come it was ready for preliminary checkup and call the inspection. At that day he not allowed to continue. So Is he Responsibility. As we started the work previous tenant broke the walls in meany places we fond cut wire in the wall under power and un protected. Since the drywall vase of I mapped up the wires and knowing al that was easy for making it safe. I am Electrician in Europe but no local licensed I Hierd 3 Licensed electrician According to Client All layers. Proper authorities were on site and approved the work The client liked to be a sidewalk inspector and thought he knew how everything should be done. He interfered with the work and wasted our time discussing his opinions. -Popcorn ceiling removed Skim coated ceiling Done -Fix up walls new drywall tape done - removed walls done -redirect heating pipe -Redirect central vacuum pipes done -extra holes for wiring and Pot lights was done -Painted to levels Done -Kitchen paint base coat -Re frame 3- closet install new doors -Install new doors in the bathroom and bedroom Bathtub installed tiled surrounding done. I framed the wall according to front wall 90-degree The outside wall was of with 1.(not 90-degree) -Turn closet into bathroom done I Framed in the original place the separation wall Done As we were working was ok When the cabinets were ordered it supposed to be little bit different Tiled Sone (complain because of slope at shower I had ¼ off level bulb) I demonstrated is working good, But According to client the level has to go completely out he showed me video 2%-was enough So I removed the shower base And I redan according As I vas Asked. Then Yelling and Screaming The client supposed to tell me how to fix-it. I could continue But just nonsense I had the most Abusive job site The workers were running out As they come. When I told them Ok we Are out they Sad Finaly they showed happiness. The entire job was screwed up because his constant changes required us to undo many steps and to also waste building materials that had to be ripped out doe to his changes. He cancelled the contract before it could be completed. This meant that another contractor had to step in. Naturally that meant extra costs and delays that the client was not happy to pay. This was a very complex project that was made more complex by the client. He is the sole reason for the unhappy situation. We have photos and documents to back up everything here."

We decided to fully renovate our Master Washroom and we are thrilled with the results. Andy and his co-worker Demietri were true professionals and easy to work with -- From his highly itemized quote, his incredible attention to every detail and stellar workmanship, especially the tile installation which was perfect. We could not have asked for a better experience. I also appreciated that when they began our job, they were focused so that our bathroom was completed within a time period that we agreed to. Andy is a problem solver. When we ran into a couple of complications, he figured out a way to work through them, giving us the assurance and allowing us to keep our original vision with very little change to our budget. There were absolutely no surprises in terms of the costs. Any additional jobs were clearly documented as additional budget items. Not to forget, Andy and his co-worker Demietri were extremely respectful of our home. They prepped the hallway, stairs and bedroom to ensure there was no damage as they moved things in and out and made sure to tidy up every day. When the project was complete, they did a solid cleaning of not only the washroom but also the steps and hallway & the garage. If it weren't for my new, beautiful washroom I wouldn't have even know they had been there. I would absolutely use Andy and his team again and have already recommended them to several people. Thank you Andy & Demietri!!!! We wish you all the very best. Ken & Charmaine Mississauga

Andy did an outstanding job installing a new ceramic tile floor in our main floor powder room. He is an expert in masonry and ceramic tiles and made the new powder room floor look like an exact continuation of the adjacent hall floor that was laid over 40 years ago! Andy also replaced broken ceramic tiles in our existing dining room and hall floors. The one slight drawback is that he does tend to overbook himself and often arrives later than predicted on a particular day but his fine workmanship is worth that slight inconvenience. Prices are fair and he cleans up when finished. I am very fussy about workmanship and definitely recommend Andy highly!

Arrived on time and worked until the job was complete with no breaks. He discovered we had a problem right off the start with our sub floor. Andy suggested changing the direction we laid the hardwood wood make it much better. We agreed and he did his thing and the final result is BEAUTIFUL! We will definitely hire Andy again, hopefully for my new bathroom. Job very well done.

The actual contractor did NOT do the work and he took forever to finish the job and he did not stand behind the work and fix issues after the work was done. I have to hire another contractor to finish the issues. You text and you never get a respond. says I will be there at this time but never ever shows up and I never hear from them. I don't think I would use them again and I have many projects to do. Also I need someone to fix the issues that this company left me with so I am not very happy at all. In fact I would not recommend this company to anyone I liked....thanks

"In the basement, we found an old copper pipe drain system. At that time when I asked you if you wanted to change and upgrade to the new system, because the price was high, it was not accepted. So, I had to buy a transition connector, so I could connect the new with the old. 2-3 months after, you called me because the basement was flooded. After I saw what the problem is, I identified the transition coupling that came apart. This is a factory-made transition from copper to ABS coupling. It cannot be made or glued, just factory-made. At the store where they sell them, I was told that 60% of these are not good, but they do not take responsibility for it, they just sell them. Since is not my fault, for the flood, I offered my help to fix the drywall and change the laminate, I asked you just to buy the materials and I will fix it. Besides refusing it, you started to blame me for everything, despite I proved it was not my fault for that reason I did not go back."
