Angie's Choice

I hired Amaar Almahdi's company (listed above) back in April/May 2023 to repair my entire house due to a severe flood in April 2023. Everything was great in the beginning. Amaar provided invoices for Phase I thru Phase IV, which were paid in full. Prior to the completion of Phase IV (master bathroom and bedroom & kitchen), there was NO ACTIVITY at my house for approximately 2 months (Sept '23 thru Oct '23). On Nov 16, 2023, Amaar informed me that he would need an additional $13,500 to finish repairing my house (master bathroom, master bedroom, kitchen, & any touch-up work that was needed). I paid him $5,000 via Apple Pay on 11/24/23 and paid the remaining $8,500 via check on 11/27/23. It should be noted that I was living in San Francisco, CA during the majority of time while Amaar was repairing my house. Subsequent to Nov 27th, Amaar was fully aware that I would be returning to Florida full-time on Dec 23, 2023. Prior to my return, Amaar texted me on Dec 20, 2023, requiring additional money for his services. I reminded Amaar that he would NOT get paid his fee ($15k) until my house was completely finished as discussed on 12/15/23. On Dec 23, 2023, per text conversation between Amaar and I.........I informed him that until he completed my house he would NOT receive another penny from me inwhich he responded that ALL work would cease & desist until he got paid. Please note the following monies I paid Amaar for material & services that weren't completed: > $10,000 for kitchen cabinets > $3500 to complete house repairs (9/9/23) >$ 13, 500 to complete remaining repairs master bathroom, master bathroom, & kitchen >$1550 for double sink bathroom vanity >$539 for smart toilet > $1200 for kitchen cabinets (restocking fee) >$800 for bedroom doors that were not installed Time and time again, Amaar assured me that he would never abandon me or my project and just kept asking for more money when NO repairs or progress was made. Whenever I asked him for an update or status of my house repairs, he would state and I quote, "I don't like being mico-managed". Really? I'm literally paying you for a job! There were several times when he wouldn't return my phone calls or texts right away and overall was not professional or available when needed. I truly regret hiring Amaar Almahdi.

I paid him like he wanted as soon as he arrived he never finished the job. He needed to shoot rock and patch the ceiling. He never came back. I gave him a referral and it didn’t work out and he’s blaming me. 0.0 work ethic he doesn’t have a license and I don’t believe anything he said to me because she couldn’t even patch the ceiling.

Angie’s choice did an incredible job on my home. I was very pleased with my remodel, I gave them my ideas and they made it happen. Amir gave me some great suggestions from my original plan and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome in the end.

After several quotes, i decided on Angies choice. They did a wonderful job repairing everything. They are quick and responsive.

We actually had some water damage in parts of our kitchen most likely due to a hurricane. Wonderful improvement! We hired Angie’s Choice to fix our bathroom that we already paid someone else to remodel. Our first experience with that particular company was a mess. They were unresponsive to our calls and texts, left tiles uneven inside our bathroom, and would have us go out and buy needed supplies. Come to find out they didn’t need them in the end. As a result we ended up cutting ties with them and hired Angie’s Choice. They were amazing! They came in, took a look at what was done, what needed to be fixed, provided us a reasonable price, and got the work done in no time. Now we love the end result!

I lucked out with Angie's Choice, I was looking to get parts of my house remodeled since I was recently married and Amir and his team got the job done. They moved quickly within my timeframe and provided quality work.

Angies company is known for its expertise in remodelling houses. I am so pleased with the work they’ve done to our home. Not only was customer service efficient and effective but the company has a team of experienced and skilled professionals who provide quality workmanship. I would recommend them 1000%

They were very professional group of men who worked to my exact needs. I gave them my ideas and they executed it quickly and with great attention to detail. I would consider myself to be a perfectionist and they managed to fulfill my requests after changing my mind twice and they managed to keep up, from response rate, to quality of work I am very pleased with the outcome of my home.

I hired this pro (Aamar Ocran) based off promises and timeliness that this pro committed too (see attached invoice) after I told him of all the challenges that I had with a previous contractor. I made my initial payment on May 3, 2022 in the amount of $8,800 for the 50% payment of the project in a cashier’s check. On April 30, 2022, I emailed Ocran all the issues currently identified at 3345 York Place. The pro then stated it would take 21 days to complete the project. He stated the remaining payment would be made at the end of the project. Once again, I was upfront about the difficulties of the project and Ocran & Kris committed to me and my girlified he could get the job done. His Co-worker Kris was supposed to be overseeing the project but then he disappeared and haven't heard from him since June 18, 2022. Ocran stated he could do the stairs and then stated the stairs needed to be demoed. Then was told by Ocran to find someone one else to do the stairs. Ocran told me that the framers wouldn't do the job if the job was under $5,000 and if I would have known that I wouldn't have never hired him and his team. Ocran should have told me this in the initial beginning. Then I was told the electrical need to be redone which was additional $4K to the job. He stated it would take make more time to do, which I understood but then no one showing up to work didn’t help. All of a sudden, it is one person doing all the work in my home. I added additional work to be done and then there is more money being requested and then once I pay him, someone works the day after and then no one works for up to two weeks. I’m dealing with his team working and then not working for over two weeks at a time with no communication and I have to try to reach out to him to find out what is going on and as a customer that has hired a pro, I shouldn’t have to chase them down for updates and the status of the project. I paid him $2,000 on July 25, 2022 and then no work gets down after I made a Zelle payment to Ocran. That same day I had hired another pro to start doing the work he said he couldn’t get down so now that is money, I’m having to pay another team. Currently, I have patches on my wall that need to be sanded and repainted, crown molding reinstalled, electrical panel installed with electrical work needing to get completed, burglar bar installed, rear screen door installed correctly, house cleaned by a professional team due to the dust and dirt on my new laminate flooring, etc. I have paid him on the following days: 05.03.22 - $8,800 – cashier’s check 05.16.22 - $500 05.16.22- $2,000 06.13.22 - $2,000 06.16.22 - $2,000 07.06.22- $2,000 07.06.22 – 2,600 - Check 07.25.22 - $2,000 His crew has left my house with tools all on the floor, dust on my new shudders and floors, and food left on my countertops (see pics). The last payment I made on the July 25, 2022 has not even been updated on the invoice. The pro pointed out all the violations from the previous contractors and I ask him to write those up for me and the Ocran said he would and I have yet to get that information as well.

They jumped in quickly on a project that I needed assistance to replace drywall after a water heater leak & mold remediation. They were good communicators and really pleasant to work with. You cannot even tell the wall they worked on because it was smooth and had great quality of work. I would recommend them!

These guys are the best professionals and I would recommend them to anyone! They are absolutely the best!

AK Renovations did a great job on my bathroom drywall. They are professional, reasonably priced , and skilled in their craftsmanship. They also listened to my ideas. I would hire them for future projects.
