"Everything in construction is an estimate. Our client Mr. [Member Name Removed] requested that his stairs be redone; however, when he was informed of the estimated time frame and the cost, he expressed no interest in proceeding. Our team encountered a variety of issues during the course of the project, including electrical work, framing issues, light installation, installing a fireplace, panel upgrades, and more.He made it clear that he "didn't care what was the cost to get it done" and wanted us to fix every issue we discovered with the previous contractor. He also stated "I already waited a year so it can't be that long”.The framers were unsure whether the stair remodel could be completed within the allotted time frame because it was requested after other work had already begun.Extra assets were going towards electrical work because of the fire hazards left by his past contractor. When you turned on the light switch in bedroom A, the [Member Name Removed]in bedroom B would come on. All of the switchers were on the wrong breakers throughout the house. In turn, the previous contractor's work had to be redone, and new drywall had to be added to fix the mistakes. He addressed having one person working in the house at a time, which was the electrician responsible. All of the power had to be turned off, which meant that the other workers couldn't finish their jobs. As we neared the end of our project, he would intervene and request additional tasks be completed. As we attempted to finish the project, we went through this cycle of getting close to completion three to four times. As Mr. [Member Name Removed] made frequent changes, special products from Overstock, Amazon, and Wayfair were requested, which extended our project timeline. Every two weeks, status updates and invitations to the vacant property were sent out; however, when additional work was added, scheduling was pushed back. He also gave us a non-refundable deposit and later that day paid for another contractor, which violated our contract.Solicitation is not tolerated which in turn nullified our contract."
