Once I got word from my tenant that there were issues with a couple of fawcets. I was anxious to try out Angies List.
I contacted them and was given an appointment for the following day.
The service man showed up when he said he would and solved our plumbing problems all in the same day.
Thank you Angie

Anthony Customer Service in the office has always been top notch and this occurance was no exception. I called around 8 AM on a Saturday to setup an appoint to have my Gas Furnace looked at as it had been acting up. They had a technician on site within 2 hours which was far better than I expected. The technician was polite and professional and was able to quickly diagnose the problem. He was unable to give me an exact estiamte at that time due to not being able to call and get a price on the needed part, but from experience he was able to give me a price range. Being as my Gas Furnace is 20+ years old the price of this repair led me to want to pursue replacing the unit. The technician said he would call that in and I would be contacted to setup an appointment for this.
Later that saturday the sales rep called and said he could be on site at noon on Sunday. Again this was quicker than I anticipated as I did still have heat but was appreciative of him being able to schedule me so quickly. I re-arranged my days plans to meet with him only to get a call 5 minutes before the scheduled appointment cancelling. I understand things happen, but calling 5 minutes prior is unprofessional and his reason was he was just to busy to come.

The following Monday I called the office to setup an appointment. At first they didnt seem to have anything available, but after getting transferred to the lady who books sales appointments she was able to get me seen that day. She was very courteous and very professional.

The sales rep called in advance of arriving, however when he called he seemed clueless as to why he was coming to meet. I informed him of the problem and that I was looking to replace the unit. He kept asking what my budget was before he even arrived on site. I finally just told him to show up and we could discuss specifics.

He arrived on time and took a look at my existing furance and the first thing he started doing was "finding" other problems. He then kept asking what my budget was. I had to keep telling him to explain to me what his recommendations were and then lets talk price. He asked if I was getting other estimates and I told him I was. He then went off on a tangent about how other HVAC companies hire convicted felons and people with drug problems. This was a total put off to me. He finally did give me a quote, but failed to provide model numbers or even the BTU's of the recommended system. I kept asking for this information and he kept telling me to go to the furnace manufacturers website and look it up. Ultimately I received a quote on 3 options for my home, but none of the quotes had model numbers, and only had BTU ranges.

Overall I was happy with the service I received from the office and from the technican, but was vastly dissapointed and putoff by the sales staff. When my Anthony ASAP agreement expires I will not be renewing and I also will not be using them for this replacement.

UPDATE - Lori the Sales Manager from Anthony followed up by telephone to discuss my experience. She was very grateful for the opportunity to speak and to learn from my experience. I chose Anthony initially based upon the feedback of the company on Angies List so I do feel my experience is not a common occurance. Lori and I discussed my experience and she seemed committed to further education/training of her sales staff. All of my experiences with Anthony in the office and on the service side have been top notch, my poor grade on this review is only related to the sales side.

Response from Anthony Plumbing, Heating & Cooling
"When this member called us, our primary associate on-call was already helping another customer. He planned to meet with this member the same day. However that appointment took much longer than expected and back up was not called in time. We have taken steps to ensure this will not happen again. In addition, our information gathering process is very thorough when we meet with a customer for a new comfort system. This allows us to provide the best solution for each situation. We do ask if a customer has a budget in mind because there is such a wide range of choices available for any given size of system. Our offerings range from the guaranteed lowest priced, properly-installed system, up to a geothermal system, which is the greatest initial investment and lowest operating cost. We strive every day to continue to provide an award-winning customer experience. We are very sorry we were unable to gain this member’s trust for replacement."

They were very punctual. When they come out, I have the tendency to hang around and watch what is going on but didn't seem to be a problem for them. They talked about what they were doing and the differences in furnaces and things like that. I even got to look up inside my system while they were here to see what the status was and how far long it is. The furnace looked pretty good. They did a thorough cleaning. The filters didn't need to be changed so they left me a couple of clean ones.

I called Anthony as my air conditioner was blowing hot air. They sent out a man that day and he was very nice. After i told him my problem, he guessed that it was one of two things. The first thing he tried which involved replacing a part worked and this meant that my bill was smaller. I appreciated that as well as his professionalism. I will definitely call them again.

I was very pleased with Anthony"s customer service. I called and scheduled the appointment, received a reminder call, and another call from the service tech, Matt, 30 minutes before the appointment time. Matt arrived on time and introduced himself and was very pleasant. I showed him the faucet and the parts I bought when I thought of trying to fix it myself. He said they were the correct parts.
Then he explained he would waive the service call fee ( i had an Angies List coupon for $49.00 for the service call) and that the
charge would be $167.00. I was not expecting it to cost anywhere near this much and expressed my surprise especially since parts that I paid $34.00 for were being used for the repair. Either way, although there was a small problem with cross threading, Matt was able to repair the faucet.
I was happy to get the faucet repaired and impressed with the company's professionalism. I would call them again but probably try to
get some price comparisons beforehand in the future and then decide who to call.
I checked them out and found them to be very honest. The leak repair job was pretty cheap but the water heater was not. I am on a warranty program with them where they have to check certain things for me without paying a service charge. I use them for my plumbing, heating and air conditioning. I really like them.

Start to finish these guys were pros. Booties
when coming in your home. Calculations to verify heat/cool loads. Well detailed
proposal. On time installation. Runners placed to not leave stains or dirt.
Attention to detail on actual installation. Not a speck of dust, dirt or scraps
left behind. Well marked and tagged equipment. Very courteous at every level. I
have no personal connection to anyone at this company. Highly recommended by me
based upon my entire experience.

The main drain to my house was clogged. I contacted Anthony's and they came out the next day at the time they had stated. The technician was very professional and very knowledgeable. He completed the job quickly and even gave me some pointers as to do's and don'ts with the drain.
See above. I purchased and installed the fan motor for less than one quarter of the price they quoted. We have used Anthony several times in the past with good results. In this case, I was sure the price for the motor was too high.
really well. These guys are pretty independent -- like you can't tell they are there. They actually welcome you to stick around and ask questions which was really a breath of fresh air for me since I am clueless. Love to learn more about how the stuff in my house works. I felt really good about the work they were doing and did.

UPDATED REVIEW:
Within minutes of submitting the below review, I received a call from someone checking on my level of satisfaction. After repeating my concerns, I was transferred to their Operations Manager, who agreed to send the senior master plumber out to root & scope our drain at no additional charge.

Although he was scheduled to arrive at 3pm, they called at 1pm to ask if I was at home and ready. Ed arrived shortly thereafter. He wore booties when he walked on through our living space and took them off in the basement. He used floor protection, was exceptionally professional, and cleaned up when he was finished. He worked for a VERY long time to clear our drain, and got farther than the first plumber who was sent. When he was finished, he clearly discussed our options and the cause of the problems. Although he was unable to completely fix the problem, I was more than satisfied with the explanation & suggestions for best next steps.

I am not sure i I will hire them again, I give kudos for willingness to make the situation right and Ed's exemplary professionalism.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Kevin arrived and showed me their standard pricing for rooting the line and, as I did not know what the going rate for such a service was, I agreed. He proceeded to walk across our entire entry, living room and kitchen floors (without booties or floor protection--tracking dirty sewage through our home) and damaging the top stair on our newly finished wood floors.
He told us that he was unable to clean the drain fully and that we would need to have the drain scoped at an additional, highly priced fee.
Less than a week later, I smelled sewer gas at the basement stairs and found that, when the cap to the main stack was replaced, it was over-tightened and the seal cracked. Sewage was leaking from the stack onto the floor. We called Anthony the next morning and Kevin came back late that day to replace the cap. Meanwhile, we were forced to refrain from using our plumbing for the day.
Now, less than two weeks after the original service, we have sewage backing up again.
I have since learned that the $310 + trip charge $89 - Angie's List coupon $40 should have been more than enough to have the drain rooted and scoped at once. And bids from more than one reputable plumber in the area back verify this.
We have contacted Anthony to complain about the price and the quality of service, but seem to be getting push-back. They tell us that the reason their prices are so high is because they guarantee that their employees are drug-free and professional. Honestly, their idea of professionalism thus far leaves much to be desired.

I came home to discover our water heater had finally quit. I called Anthony Plumbing Heating and Cooling at 6:30 in the evening and was pleasantly surprised to have a live body answer my call. The lady I spoke with was very courteous and professional. I explained our situation (no hot water) and she asked if we wanted to repair or replace the water heater, I said to replace it. She said she had a technician available and could dispatch him right away. Jerry called me within about 10 minutes and said he'd be at my house by 7:30p (it was 6:45 and he had to go get an electric water heater for us at the warehouse). He arrived at my house at 7:30 and was finished installing, cleaning up and hauling away the old water heater by 9 o'clock and by 9:30p I had hot water again. With response time and punctuality like this, I will use them again. You can trust them with your house keys!
