I am sorry to write this, because we had a good experience with them previously, but the more time goes on, the clearer it becomes what a bad job was done on our bathroom. When we had an initial consultation, the owner spoke of a number of services, including consultation with a decorator, two or more workers doing the job, etc. We did have to delay services while our shower was completed. After that, things started to go pear-shaped. It took almost four months of, "when can we schedule?" "Oh, we should be able to come in two weeks," and then three weeks of radio silence, lather, rinse, repeat. When they finally began the job, only one man was assigned to it. It was a very challenging just, so it took quite a long time. We only have one bathroom, so this was a real issue. A couple of times, the owner indicated that he would be coming to help finish things. He never did. There was no consultation with a decorator. I was left to look at colors on my own and given three samples. There were a myriad of minor issues. We told the worker several times that we would be replacing one set of light fixtures for smaller ones, but he never took them down. We finally did so when the job was nearly done, and there was wallpaper underneath. We paid them extra to put up the light fixtures, and they do not line up. Our medicine cabinet and the light fixture above it are both tilted. There were a number of small white spots in the brown paint. In the months since the job was done, we've had paint peel off, paint fade with even the gentlest of cleanings, more cracks appear on a floor that never had them before...it's all been a huge disappointment in a renovation we were really excited about.

David gave me what I thought was a fair price for the work to be done. He asked for 1/2 up front. As a previous small business owner I did not feel this was unreasonable so I paid him 500.00. He estimated the work would take 3 to four days and I thought the same. After several no shows the "mason" showed up. The first clue was he came in a car. According to my wife he was here 2 hours and left, came back for another 2 hours the next day and left again. He said nothing to my wife about leaving or when he would be back. David called a day later to ask about coming out to look over the job and get the rest of the other 500.00. I said he isn't finished and he's only been here 4 hours. So then I looked up the prevailing wage in IL for a mason and found out it is 28.50 an hour. The next day the guy comes back for another 3 hours. David came to look at the work and I walked him around and showed him all of the places that had not been done. So the guy comes back again for about an hour. All told it was 8 hours work, nothing to write home about but it was agreed up front that I wasn't looking for an exposed brick look. I need it tuck pointed well enough so that I could drylock and paint the exposed brick. I will say this was done in the end. The worker left a mess that I and my wife had to clean up, I pointed this out to David as well. I told him I felt he was overly paid for the amount of work preformed and that was the end of it. It's really to bad. It's difficult to get contractors to do small jobs and I had plenty for him to do. I'm not unhappy, just would not hire again

It went very well. I called on Saturday and talked with David, it was arranged they would come by on Monday and fix the step between 9-11, they were actually there a few minutes early and finished within 2 hours, including a trip to get materials needed.

Another fantastic job by AOM! This was a small job that we needed done, but had put off for years because it was too complicated for us, and thus beyond our capabilities. The workmen showed up early and were done before we knew it. They were professional, skilled, polite and left a clean work site.

Our house had a water damage that ruined much of the drywall and floor on the first floor and the basement. For such a big repair job, I carefully looked up the reviews and recommendations from Angie's list and talked to 3 contractors that have the highest ratings. AOM was one of the three. David, the owner of AOM, quickly came to our house, assessed the damage, explained to me what need to be done, showed great empathy to our loss and current situation (having to stay in hotel waiting to go back to our house), and put a very competitive bid (about 2/3 the bid of another contractor). We picked them and signed the contract. AOM uses Trello, a cloud-based project tracking system that software companies often use, to effectively and promptly communicate task description and updates to all workers and house owners. AOM workers are professional, hard working, and friendly. For such a big project, expectedly there were some hiccups and AOM had to juggle ours with their other on-going projects. David kindly explained to me various aspects of the repair work and promptly fixed any faults that we identified. I became to completely trust David's professional skill and that he would treat our house like his. Several nights and weekends David came to work late so that we could move back to normal life as soon as possible. In the end, we are very happy with our remodeled house. I sincerely recommend David and AOM for any house remodeling and restoration job.

They did a great job. Our older wood siding was peeling badly. They did a great job power-washing and prepping all the surfaces and the paint job looks awesome. Courteous and helpful in giving me tips on how to help the paint job last well. Answer my many questions professionally, accurately, and promptly. Would hire again for sure!

When I first called him to go over the jobs I needed done and come up with a plan he was there every single day he was supposed to be and was very responsive. When the job started he sent 2 men out to my house who were not qualified to be doing any type of remodeling work one couldn?t even read a tape measure. They messed up my drywall so bad that Dave had to come out and couldn?t even fix it himself after trying 2 times. I ended up having to fix the drywall myself. The 2 guys he sent out needed to patch a hole in a different part of the drywall and didn?t know how to do it. They wanted to put up screen and just put mud over the screen. I had to teach them how to repair drywall myself. Another time they were putting the trim up on the ceiling and couldn?t get a portion right so they just glued it up there and eventually it just fell down. After complaining to Dave he finally sent a 3rd guy out who was good and knew what he was doing. It took him a week and a half to fix all of the other 2 guy?s mistakes. During this process I was supposed to have many meetings with Dave but he would never show up. One time he said his van over heated and another time he said his In-laws were sick and he was taking care of them, another time he missed the meetings the 2 guys that were out at the house said he was in Chicago at another job, and another time they said he was in a different town at another job but Dave always lied about why he couldn?t make the meetings and we would have to reschedule over and over again. The 3rd guy he sent out said he felt sorry for me because Dave had too many jobs and couldn?t handle the work so he was hiring people that weren?t qualified for the jobs. Dave told me he carefully screened all of his employees but one of the guys that was out here was bragging about that when he wasn?t working for Dave he was a Coyote getting people over the border from Mexico. A week ago he said he would refund me for the 2nd house of mine he was supposed to remodel and never got to. I still haven?t got the check so when I talked to him yesterday he said that he handed it over to his secretary to take care of. He is a complete liar and not trustworthy in any way. He never completed either of my jobs. The only thing he was good at was painting. I needed to put one of my houses on the market before the winter and it is still not done.

We have just had AOM complete work on our home. If you are on the fence about using this company, I hope this review helps. The interior of our home had not been painted since it was built (about 2003). It still had the flat contractors paint and some areas were looking decidedly worse for wear.Being pregnant with a toddler on the loose, we decided not to attempt the painting ourselves. I commenced obtaining quotes. Generall,y when having work of any kind done on our home or appliances, I prefer to go with a company that has been recommended to us by friends or family we trust. So we had a number of companies from around the local area come to give us quotes. However, I spotted AOM on Angie's List and was intrigued by their offers and more importantly, the reviews people gave them.I decided to call them for a quote. Well, they were super fast in getting back to me and David offered to come out the next day to provide a quote. After a walk through and explanation of what we needed, he was able to quote me on the spot.We had a relatively tight schedule to get the painting done. We decided to have it done whilst we were away overseas. Certain past experiences have left me largely mistrustful of giving my home over to anyone while I am away, but after chatting with David and Ashly, the owners of AOM, I felt confident that we were in good hands. We were leaving in less than a month and needed the work done by the time we got back. No pressure. Ashly and David were fantastic in fitting on with our schedule requests. Ashly was so great in helping us to decide on exact colors to match our general idea of a color scheme, coming over more than once to put up paint swatches in the different rooms in different areas so we would be able to tell how it would look regardless of time of day. I can't tell you how many color samples we tried before we made our final choices. My mother in law was gracious enough to offer to be on hand to help out with daily concerns, and the AOm team worked so well with her. She was completely impressed - not an easy feat with her! Before we left we had constant communication with Ashly, who even helped me choose paint scents.While we were away, we got regular updates, with pictures from AOm as well as an online work board so I would be completely in the loop with the work done/to be done. We returned the day before yesterday and LOVE the work they have done. We are so incredibly happy and impressed with the work they did. They did all our ceilings,our walls, fixed cracks and dents where needed,painted the walls and to my absolute delight, managed to get my dinged baseboards and door frames looking like new again.They also took care of the smaller details, like kindly replacing globes they saw had blown out. Today, David came by for a walk through to ensure we were happy with everything. There were a few minor things that he fixed right there on the spot. Needless to say, all their fantastic reviews are well deserved.They work hard, work smart, have integrity, and are so very accommodating to their customer's needs. That they are also trustworthy is a huge thing for me , and I suspect that anyone having work done in their home, whilst they might not be about at all times, will understand this. Give them a call - you will not be sorry. Oh, and their quote? A fraction of the cost we were quoted by the others. We intend on using them for all projects in the future.

He made sure he squeezed me in before we moved, which was a huge plus. After discussing my budget, we came to an agreement on a price that was more than reasonable. He and his team worked day / night / weekends to make sure it was done on time. I took forever to pick out colors, etc... and he never was impatient with me. He finished 90% of it on time, the other part was because I couldn't make a descision on color for that area. He came after we moved in and knocked that out promptly. Any touch ups, fixes etc that were needed, he came and did with no issue. He even took the liberty of going out and purchasing all the new air vents, and other things we needed. He even came back and repainted the kitchen completely after we wanted to change the color. I would highly recomend his company, and will use him again. Stand up guy.

We even did additional work at NO charge on site for a few smaller projects you had just out of kindness since we were there. Upon arrival to the site, you did not have all of the materials as previously discussed which caused a delay in our progress. As for your deposit it was applied for the materials we had purchased after going to the hardware store multiple times for you to do your original project and to pay for your outstanding balance. Based on our past experience with AOM (interior painting), we used them to powerwash our home. They had all the appropriate equipment and did an excellent job. Our 20 year old vinyl siding looks totally refreshed. David is easy to work with and goes the extra mile. We will continue to AOM for future projects. <br>
