There is a board behind the gutter and the board is pulled away from the house. Its open and now squirrels can get in, and that's not supped to happen. Now I am going to need  to have this repaired again. I have tried calling several numbers and they were all invalid and I cannot get a hold of the company.

Siding and wood framing replace on entire house. Wood and fiberglass siding (50 year warranty) began to crack within one year. Company did not return call. Eventually hired attorney and sued and won a judgement but have been unable to collect. Amazed to hear the this company is still in business. We did pick them at least partly because they were on your list.

Everything went well.  The repair was finished in 15 minutes and showed they showed me how I could make the repair myself.

Initially I was very satisfied. But a year later during a winter snow storm we had a little water coming in 4 or 5 areas where we had water come in before--and the very reason we had the roof torn off and redone. The owners said it was a "historic" storm and we'd probably never see it happen again. The next winter during another storm we had water coming in the same areas. The owner promised to come out and inspect. He never came. This past winter we again had water coming in the same areas. Now, unfortunately, all the phone numbers we had for A-One are disconnected. So, despite the high rating from Angie's List at the time and a five year warranty on the workmanship, we're stuck.

They didn?t follow the manufacturer?s instructions for installation which voided my warranty with the company I bought them from. They were completely unresponsive when I asked them to come back out and fix the work. The buyer should be aware to get a receipt for any supplies purchased.

I had another roofing company and my son-in-law look at my roof. Both gentleman said that there is absolutely something wrong with my roof. The company stated that it was "criminal" for A One Exteriors to not acknowledge this problem.

There was a little confusion in scheduling because they were so busy they had hired subcontractors. We had signed for the roof to be done in July and in October the work hadn't begun. We contacted them to see what was going on. There was hail damage and so they got very busy all at once. It seems the subcontractor was the one at fault in the scheduling. Once they came to do the work the roof turned out great. Their price was the lowest of anyone, plus we had $300 because we had got their name from Angie's List. They handle working with the insurance company.

I have been trying to get them to come repair the work for over two weeks, and I have not had any success. I have spoken with them a few times by phone and each time they promise someone will call me back but they have not. I have now left a number of messages and they have not responded. I need this work done quickly and am not having any luck getting them to fix their work.

The initial bid and contract signing went off without a hitch. The person I was expecting to do the roofing did not show up, but a group of contract workers did. The people repairing the roof were very professional and completed with a short amount of time. Approximately 2 weeks after the repair the roof began leaking again in the exact same spot. A-One sent someone out about 1 week after the complaint to repair the repair. Now 8 months later the roof is leaking again in the exact same location. I attempted to contact Terri for 2 weeks, leaving numerous messages, before i got a call back. He explained that he we personally check the roof that day. That was 2 weeks ago, he did not show and I have not been able get a hold of him as of today.

We had hail damage and needed our roof replaced. James Staley was our point of contact for the initial quote, installation, and final payment. They installed the roof in less than one day and had all the skylights in as well. Later that week they subcontracted the interior trim around the skylights. We stained the trim. 6 months later I noticed a long stain on our 2 story ceiling coming from one of the skylights to the wall. I called A-One and Terry and Kevin came out to see why it was leaking. (James had since retired.) They noticed that the subcontractors (that they used) had used finishing nails that were too long and they had gone through the flashing of the skylights. Terry said he had never seen that before, and they put caulking on it to fix it. About a week or two later I noticed it was leaking again and called them again. After talking with Terry and trying to explain that caulking was not an acceptable solution to a NEW roof, he said that Kevin would come out again and call before he did. After two weeks of no call, I called them again and evidently Kevin did come out but did not call. After a few calls I got a hold of Terry and he said Kevin had re-caulked around the flashing. I told him I preferred that the flashing be replaced. After weeks and multiple phone calls of that were not returned, I gave up on trying to get it fixed the correct way so that it won't leak in the long term. Caulk seems to be only a temporary fix! Not to mention the fact that we had to fix the 10+ ft. long stain on our 2 story ceiling. Note that my ratings are not for James as he seemed responsive and professional.

It was great. They were communicative and on time. They did an excellent job of cleaning up and making sure all the asphalt from the roofing pieces were cleaned out of the landscaping and flower beds. There were fast, considerate. When they were almost finished, the supervisor ask me if there was anything else they needed to do.

They told us the siding was the reason rain water was coming into the house. After they left, it rained it again, and water came into the house. He came back and then told us it wasn't the siding, but the roof that was the reason water was coming in. He told us he'd come back, but he hasn't been back for months. He left a tarp over the house. I am very unhappy with this situation.
Response from A One Exteriors
"On January 21st, the member called A-One Exteriors and needed an estimate on a leak. I, Terry E Fields, went out and took a look and I thought the leak was because of the siding. So I quoted her at $400 to repair two pieces of siding. She agreed and signed a contract I made up. Then she called back and said there was still a leak. So A-One Exteriors came out and tarped off the roof. She told us she wanted to wait until the rain passed before we tore off the flaps and repaired. I told her since the siding was not the problem, A-One Exteriors would come out and fix the flap at no charge to her. She called once for us to come out but, unfortunately it ended up raining that day. I, Terry E Fields, called her and told her we would reschedule for the following week. The follow came and I gave her a call to come out to do the repair. She told me she has already had her roof completely replaced, but she did not inform us of her decision to do this. We at A-One Exteriors fell the situation was handled properly and we will not be refunding her money. Terry E Fields-Owner"

We had hail damage to our roof and hired A-One to replace the roof. The old roof was over 20 years old and never leaked or had problems, just had hail damage so it needed to be replaced before it did create problems. Since being replaced, the entire inside of the attic (decking) is covered with frost in the winter. They replaced the ridge vent and that may have solved the problem but it took over a year for them to do that an only after I told them another roofer found the ridge vent they installed was crushed down because it was improperly nailed. Roof is less then 2 years old and I have a significant leak around and exhaust pipe and their response was it was our fault because someone connected flex tubing to the inside of the pipe and must have moved the vent. They allege that caused the leak. I had another contractor on site when they were here. The other contractor said the vent is nailed and shouldn't move just because someone connects a pipe to it. I see daylight around my chimney, never did before and the fix was to caulk. This is a not a fix as caulk is a maintenance nightmare so we have to go on the roof and caulk for the life of roof whenever the caulk fails. We never had to caulk the old roof that was up there for 20 years. We never had condensation in the attic before they installed the new roof. I won't go on but suffice it to say they have used every means possible to get out of correcting the problems of an improper install. I am a realtor and an attorney. I also rehab homes and have rentals so I am very familiar with the construction industry. Instead of solving the problem, they are trying to say it is moisture from my crawl causing condensation (never was a proper before the new roof!) I would never recommend them.

We were very pleased. They came out and gave us an estimate when they promised. They gave us a fair estimate. They had an excellent selection of materials to choose from. They were very professional. I expected it to take a few days, but they got the whole job done in one day. They made sure not to damage our driveway. They were neat and quick. They were reasonably priced. We recommended them to our neighbors.

They were very timely. The work they did looked really good and cleaned up after themselves. However 5 months later there are leaks. It has taken numerous calls to get them to come out. I am confident that they will fix the issues, but it has been difficult to get that done quickly. Their follow up has been pretty awful. The weather has been part of the issue.

Mr. Staley replaced the roof on our house and garage last year. We were happy with his work then and decided to use him again. The day of the appointment, no one showed up. We later learned that the crew had transportation problems. The next day, the old soffits were removed and replaced with ventilated soffits. The old siding on the ends was replaced with new siding. All exposed wooden surfaces on the eaves were covered with vinyl or vinyl-like material. The old gutters on the house were removed and new gutters were installed. New gutters were installed on the detached garage. It took a few days to do everything because different crews were involved.

Daniel, the sales rep, is the one that took our check. I don't know who was the one that signed off on the job. Weeks later, we had a hard rain and there was flooding around the chimney area, cascading down the walls. I thought the chimney was the problem. I called another company who had done some work for us earlier. They said the chimney was fine. I went into 2007 with a little patch job. Above my living room, by the chimney, I kept having leaks around the fireplace. I knew something was not right. I tried calling A-One but they never returned my calls. I called into Angie's List requesting companies that would come out to check my roof and flashing. Another company took pictures of the roof. They showed places where bare wood was exposed to the elements and nails were driven into the chimney. I told Mr. Fields what had happened and offered him a chance to make the job right. He came out (8/14), climbed up and did a little patching. He said he would come again to do more work.

We thought we had a roof leak. They came out immediately. Checked everything out and were willing to fix everything. The leak ended up coming from plumbing. Came back out with plumber to confirm that.
