A+ Painting Service

If you want to be accused of making a side contract with the painter who doesn't speak English (because we asked what time he would arrive), yelled at for pointing out that the paint wasn't matching (which it wasn't), and being accused of not abiding by the contract which doesn't state what Shannon Eicher claimed it did, then hire these people. Was told a "team" would come and we'd coordinate with them on room order for painting. One painter showed up and when asked when the team would arrive was told by Shannon we wouldn't like the quality of his other painters. Painter insisted on us moving all the furniture in every room on day 1 so he could trim. Painter was supposed to work Monday-Friday 8-5 per contract but showed up after 10 AM, took an hour lunch, and only worked until 6 to make up for the time twice. Was supposed to take 8-10 days. Paint store did sell the wrong finish to Shannon which delayed completion, however, painter was angry that Shannon wouldn't pay him extra and we were caught in the middle. How does the owner who supposedly has been in the business since he was age 15 and a professional painter not notice that they were using the wrong finish? Home was unlivable for 16 days. Painter didn't have supplies (drop cloths or painter's tape) which we had to purchase from Home Depot to protect the home. We deducted the amount from the final balance because painter failed to reimburse us as he said he would. During the final days when painter had used up our supplies, he used masking tape which was difficult for us to remove (he cleaned nothing). We took off 4 rooms of wall paper ourselves; he wanted us to purchase a steamer at Home Depot which we refused. We did this even though the contract stated the company would remove the paper as the painter would look at the wall, sigh and say in English, "More work" but would never get around to removing the paper. To avoid extending the pain of having to deal with this company we did it ourselves. No thanks from either Shannon or the painter; Shannon yelled that we weren't going to receive a discount which we never asked for. Shannon only came by twice, to pick up his cash payments, not to see how the project was going. After storming out of the house without providing a receipt he never came back. He claimed he had a cat allergy (then why did he take the job?), made an appointment to come but didn't show and then texted a week later that we should have given the final payment to the painter when he left. The paint wasn't dry and per the contract, the final walk through was to be arranged after the job was completed which hadn't occurred. Shannon sent the painter back two days later to obtain the balance. Shannon admitted he doesn't get a lot of referrals. No wonder!

They were fast, knowledgeable and took care of protecting my 100 year old woodwork. They did a great job.

Shannon's team showed up on-time and got the job done in the time allotted.  Shannon was very thorough and consulted with me on the masking processes and any details that were in question.  Very professional and completed a quality job. <br />

Shannon is the owner of the company.  He was very courteous and professional, and he and his crew were very conscientious about their work, and they were on time.  They also did a good job of cleaning up the area before they left. <br />

We are very pleased with the work.  Shannon and his team did a great job and were very impressive in their follow through.  They even came back a couple of times to fix a few small details and wanted to make sure we were completely happy with the job.  We would definitely use them again.  Highly recommended. <br />

A+ promptly kept the estimating appointment. I was impressed with the way Mr. Eicher described how they would prep the surfaces for the best long term job. He was honest about wood that needed to be replaced. Their estimate was not the cheapest but, as I said, I was impressed with the good job that was described to me. It was not a good job, but a most excellent job. I could not imagine a better outcome. The crew was very thorough and meticulous with their work as well as courteous. They went above and beyond to give me a perfect outcome. They also completed the project in what I consider ahead of schedule. The work area was cleaned up daily and in the end you could barely tell they had to do extensive scraping of the wood areas. They worked very hard to clean up all the chips that fell from the paint they scrapped off. I would give them the highest rating in all areas of the job. I wish all my repair and updating jobs were done as expertly as this one. <br />

The painter (Mike) did outstanding work.  He showed excellent attention to detail and really put in a lot of effort on the project.  The price seemed to be very competitive, although I think I ended up paying more for the second coat (which wasn't part of the original contract, which was for one coat), so it probably ended up comparable to most, I'm guessing.  Responsiveness was a bit of an issue at first in terms of returning e-mails and getting a quote from Shannon, but responsiveness seemed to get better as time went on, and was good when I was requesting a second coat.  After sending a signed contract, they were able to start the next day, which was great and very responsive.  Overall, I was impressed by the quality of the work and would use them again and recommend them to a friend.  Price seemed reasonable and good overall value for quality of the work performed. <br />

<br /> They were delayed a few days, due to a previous job taking longer than expected. We were fine with the delay. <br /> Reuben the power washer/exterior painter and his crew took approx. 3.5 days to complete the exterior part of the project. <br /> Edgar the drywaller took approx. 3.5 days to scrape the popcorn finish off of the ceilings and re-finish the drywall. <br /> Mike the interior painter took approx. 3.5 days to paint the ceilings and walls. He even worked on July 4th to ensure we would have 2 useable bedrooms for company coming in the night of July 5th. <br /> <br />

I am very happy with the results. Without a doubt I would use them again.they were very easy to work with. they were very professional. They cleaned up their mess everyday because it took them more than one day. They made sure that I was kept inform of their progress, when to expect them and that sort of thing.

The painting was excellent, the guys masked everything really well, took care of not over-painting anything and laid down barriers not to stain the floor. A+ for this portion. The floor was done OK, in retrospect,  I wish I had known more about the work required before the job began.  These folks have done this work in the past however it seemed to me like their core competency was painting and not floor refinishing.  it looks nice however I think it could have looked even better if the experience had been there. The lower marks on responsiveness and punctuality were given because they did not show up exactly at the time convened, also, the job was finished 2 days after the date they had agreed for completion.  Only one man was at the house working for the first couple days until I put more pressure on them to finish. I have the feeling that this company is typically really busy, it took me a while to get in touch with them to quote the job. Once it was quoted, the work began on schedule.

They were excellent. They worked extra hours and got the job within one week. I was very impressed and it was good quality work. I have recommended them to other people.

Shannon and his assistant were on time and did everything as promised. Explained difficulties with worn areas with my floor and worked diligently to make my floor look its best. The results are very nice considering the extensive water damage. The whole family is pleased.
