I got a lot of different stories on why the project was going so slowly. Several weeks went by with no communication from them. Finally I heard back from them after a couple weeks, but once they got started back up again, they moved really slowly. Essentially, they were over budgeted, I paid them over them 75% of the total,  but they only did about less than half of the work.

Wayne and the entire team were very professional and responsive and the quality of the work was top notch.   I will definately use Apsley Builders for all of my future remodeling jobs. Thanks to Wayne, Rich, Ollie, Mike, Drew, Anthony, Gerardo and Neil. I love my new kitchen. <br />

We are pretty satisfied with the roofing but as far as the sill plate goes we are having issues with the water and I don’t know if they are in business anymore as I tried to call them to get a look at it but their phone is disconnected or something is wrong with the line.  They might be in business and I don’t know if I would recommend them to anybody else.  I was satisfied with the work as far as roof goes.  I was pleased with the level of service provided.  The price was very competitive and that is one of the main factors I decided to go with him.  They were punctual when we signed up to do the work and when they came out that day they were right on time.

Unfortunately, I was extremely lax in getting this review finished.  My apologies for this.  However, less than a year ago my wife and I decided to replace our deck,  and we found Apsley on Angieslist and cross-checked with the BBB.  We placed a call and we were met with a prompt response.  Less than 2 days later a rep was sent out to assess our current deck.  He was very personable (obviously) and took the time to answer my questions and explain the problem areas of my current deck.  We then discussed multiple building materials and ways to attack the remodel.  He was very patient and upbeat the entire time.  We didn't wait long for an estimate, and found it to be very reasonable.  Apsley then took care of any required permits and began on the destruction of the old deck.  Many problems with the old structure were pointed out - such as the deck not being anchored in any way to the house - and I realized how lucky we were to have this work done when we did.  The tear down took under 2 days and utmost care was taken to protect and preserve the house and yard around the deck.  The build then began and they were great at keeping us apprised through the entire process.  The only snag in the entire project was when the railings that were requested were not delivered on time, something that I realize is just going to happen at times.  Once the railings came a day later, the project was finished a few days later.  They also leveled my hot tub, which had sunk over time, free of cost before building the deck around it.  They created a rock-solid structure that still looks great today.  It definitely was a major improvement in the overall appearance of our house.  I would definitely recommend Apsley to anyone that has a home improvement need, and would use them again. <br />

It went quite well. I've only used them for some of repairs due to a water problem. They are very careful about how they leave the place and they have quality workmanship. As for the price, it's hard for me to say because it was an insurance claim. I'm planning to use them again.

From the beginning they were highly responsive and communicative as to what to expect, status on progress, and any issues or concerns they experienced.  When unexpected work was identified due to local code and the type of walls, Apsley performed that work without cost to us.  When we ran into an unrelated issue with our garage door, Wayne had one of his crew stop over to provide a helping hand and return it to service. We had hoped the work would be completed so we could use the basement for family Christmas entertaining and Wayne and his crew came through with flying colors! <br /> We are planning to have Apsley perform additional work in another part of the house after the Holidays.  We would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Wayne and his team. While not necessarily the least expensive, we have had other contractors do work and Apsley is well worth the difference. <br /> <br />

As with most people looking over reviews on this site, I've had my fair share of contractors that have not 'lived up to expectations'.  I was extremely nervous with contracting this job out.  We had four companies that came into bid, Apsley wasn't the most inexpensive, but they showed the most attention to detail and listened to what I was looking to accomplish.  We went with Apsley and I had not regretted it once.  They really succeeded in deciphering what I 'saw in my head' and brought it to life.  <br /> As with any job, there are blips...but Apsley made sure that they stayed in communication, addressed my (neurosis) concerns and for the most part, went smoothly.  We had some supply issues (which were not at the fault of Apsley) which extended the completion of the job.  Apsley upgraded a railing system because they didn't want to wait any longer for the product to come in (at no additional cost).  We had drilling issues because my house sits on a bed of rock and there were concerns about depth and passing inspections, but through it all, those guys sweated (dead heat of summer), with shovels, picks, hammers and jackhammers trying to will away another inch off that rock!  <br /> Inspections came and went and they were off!  The guys were considerate and cleaned up the site every day, knowing that I have 3 large dogs and 2 kids running from the house to the pool to the yard.  They did a fantastic job.  I gave them my 'punchlist' at the end and they showed up to knock them off one at a time.  <br /> I can't say enough about them.  Professional, courteous, trustworthy,honest, communicative and funny...all the things that I would look for in a contractor.   From the guys on the site, to the back office, I'd give them an A+ any day.  Great Job! <br /> <br />

During Hurricane irene a large tree uprooted and fell directly on our home making it uninhabitable.  Though we were extremely stressed and motivated to rebuild quickly we took the time to bid out the project to "several" contractors to ensure our home was properly rebuilt for the right price.  It was clear to us early in the bid process Apsley showed the most responsiveness and capability compared to their competition.  After months of rebuilding we are back in our home and couldn't be happier.  There were a few minor details that needed to be touched up but when our expectations were clearly explained to the staff they made things right without any issue.  Thank you Apsley team! <br />

Overall the project went well.  Issues happen and I think that if a company can address your concerns and make corrections then things can progress.

<p>All work was finished in a timely fashion.  Problems were addressed </p> but a communication issue developed.  That has been addressed since and am would be happy to juse this firm again.

Wonderful! They were professional started when they said they were. Great working relationship.

The overall experience was good. I think the price was quite good for the job, as I had difficulty finding someone to do the job. The company was responsive, but it did require several phone calls on my part. They were punctual and professional. I might use this company again.

All these projects went very smoothly. <br /> Biggest problems were with the county inspectors for the garage. <br />       o  Apsley Builders professionally worked through the small troublesome areas with county personnel <br />       o  Since the concrete pad was put in 2 years before and the "frostline" depths were now in question,  <br /> Apsley Builders had their Structural Engineer review the pad design.  The engineer  endorsed it as a very  <br /> well done concrete pad, thus meeting the county requirements to the county's satisfaction. <br /> Apsley Builders employ workers that are happy, pleasing and "down to earth" <br /> During garage building the electrician noted by my rebuilt 1978 Chev Blazer. <br /> I told him it was ready for painting but the rear lights don't work. <br /> He said, "I fix them for you."  He worked on hour on completing fixing the "Blazer lights" <br /> Got all the lights working and would not accept any payment for his precious time.

Overall the job went smoothly and without incident. We're very happy with the final product.

<br /> The contractor came to our house and presented a complete job desciption including design recommendations along with materials and railings. They worked with our local township and managed all the permits. The job was completed in a matter days upon submitting the initial deposit.   <br /> <br />

His work was prompt. He supervised the work frequently. He did the work quickly. The roof has been holding up ever since.
