Overall grade: “A”. Summary: Aqua Concepts rebuilt most of my pool (70-year-old, 20’x40’, 9’ deep maindrain, rectangular pool) from the rebar on up, replastered the pool, added new steps, pressure tested my maindrain, installed a split maindrain, and recommended a pool Startup party that I am very happy with. Time Frame: May-June 2021 (COVID time) Issues\Complaints: None My AquaConcepts contact: Chris was always available to answer my questions whether by text, phone call, or in-person visit. He did so in a timely manner. He also suggested alternate approaches and ideas that could be implemented during the rebuild. Very helpful. Background: Initially I planned only to replaster the pool. The surface looked OK except for a few “red spots” in the shallow end. Those spots turned out to be rusted rebar that had penetrated the plaster! This finding changed the entire nature of the job. AquaConcepts dug several “windows” into the plaster and it was evident that rust was widespread. To affect a reasonable rebuild price, they built a new rebar shell (say 6” above the old one), covered both rebar frames with shotcrete (at 3500 psi), bead blasted my existing tile (came out pretty good looking) and all this for half the price of a new pool (new pool of this size: 80-90k.) They also built the rebar shell for the new steps. (As I’m retired, I watched every step of the rebuild closely, asked lots of questions, and enjoyed the process).

After many extremely expensive quotations to reinforce my pool (some for $250,000) from other builders and pool construction specialists, Richard and his crew from Aqua Concepts completely repaired my pool for $4800. That was over fifteen years ago and it is still good. Seriously you can't beat that! What clued me in is that Richard teaches people how to build and repair pools!

The Job went great from start to finish. Scott was our main contact and he was very involved in the project from the beginning. The work was done on time and in a very professional way and the end result is a pool that looks brand new! All of the workers that worked on the project were polite and courteous and the work area was cleaned up after each work day. I would not hesitate to recommend Aqua Concepts.

Richard, Scott and their team were terrific. They did a beautiful job and we are very happy with our new pool. Initially we had 4 estimates done and ended up going with Aqua Concepts primarily due to their high level of professionalism. They are truly experts in their trade. Scott & Richard are very knowledgeable. They were able to troubleshoot the issue, meet with the gas company and complete the work in a very timely manner. They were highly recommended and are doing work at other homes on our street, as well. Their quotes were reasonable & honest. Other companies gave highly inflated quoted without taking the time dig around to assess the project. I have now hired Aqua Concepts to complete the much larger job of replacing the entire gas line and possibly resurface our pool.

<p>Scott and his crew were extremely knowledgeable and professional. His crew came on time and every day they said they would come to perform work. They worked with me on all the adjustments I requested throughout the project. They did an excellent job on my pool, spa and the associated infrastructure. Everyone that visits my backyard loves it!</p> <p>They were in the unfortunate situation of dealing with some very unprofessional contractors from System Pavers that I had redoing the decking with pavers but maintained their professionalism throughout. Despite having to work other contractors they were able to properly manage the timing of the project without long delays on their side.</p>

I met Scott and he was very thorough with the inspection. He gave me advice and guidance with every choice I made, so I felt comfortable in all the decisions I made (and paid for). His Scope of Work was very detailed so I knew what work will be completed and when the job would be done. Although we had some changes from the SOW, they were unavoidable (ex. crack found, filter change, etc.), the estimate was pretty close to what I actually spent. I added some other services, so materials were more, but the timeframe didn't extend so we were able to enjoy the pool before the weather got too cold.

Aqua Concepts built a brand new pool for me. Work product is EXCELLENT. My kids absolutely love the pool, it is BEAUTIFUL. Aqua Concepts took care of everything from the design, to permitting, to the build. They were very professional in explaining what they were doing and how everything worked. What really makes Aqua Concepts stand out is their excellent follow up service. They would check on me regularly after the pool was set up to make sure that everything was working properly. The project proceeded just as flawlessly as the previous pool project! The Aqua Concepts team consists of people who are experts in their field. Richard, the company owner, planned a layout and design that far exceeded my expectations. He is a landscape and lighting genius! <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Scott?s day to day organization and execution of the plan made it go forward without a hitch. He even fixed broken cabinet latches, a front door knob that had seen better days, and other balky household issues. Salvador paints so perfectly without a stray drop anywhere, which is unheard of nowadays. My living room has been transformed into an up to date space. Before painting he carefully covered the natural color wood molding and open beam ceiling to protect them, as well as the new wood blinds. Mario put in new wiring under the house, around the front lawn, and the pool gardens to accommodate all of the lights for both yards.The control center for the new lights was put up neatly on the side of the house. It works perfectly, turns on the lights at dusk and turns them off 6 hours later. Edgar is a fine addition to the company's staff and Gayle in the office is always a pleasure to work with. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> At dusk my yard becomes a spectacular scene of sheer beauty and serenity. There are now gleaming lights that frame the sparkling pool and walkways in the back yard. In addition there are even spotlights on plants, as well as four lights that can change color. I would have been happy with just the color blue to match the pool tile. In the front yard I now have recessed spotlights on the crepe myrtle tree. At night it looks like a museum quality still life work of art, which it truly is. The brick driveway, front lawn, and walkway are framed with lights. I cannot believe that I live in this perfect paradise.

In 1986, Aqua Concepts installed our pool/spa equipment. We were so satisfied with the work Richard did that we contacted him 19 years later when we needed to replace our pool heater. Within days Aqua Concepts installed our new water heater. <br /> We had a bit of a problem with the heater itself which was a manufacturing defect. We contacted Richard and immediately he supplied us with the necessary information and paperwork to contact the company for a warranty repair. The heater is working great now. <br /> Would definitely recommend Aqua Concepts!!! <br /> Thanks Richard!!! <br />

Aqua Concepts has a terrific staff of carefully selected personnel who are experts in their field. Richard, Scott, Mario, Salvador, Gayle, and Kenny always kept me up to date on current progress and what to expect in the immediate future. Everyone came to work here with a pleasant and professional attitude. I was always informed of an upcoming delivery of materials or key subcontractors arriving such as the Shot Crete crew, the tile setters, and the plasterers. Each and every time that came for a city inspection produced the same results; this wonderful pool passed every inspection the first time. I am the proud owner of the Certificate of Completion. Further, my next door neighbor told me that she never heard noise from the construction crew. She built a pool at her previous residence, with another company, and did not have the positive experience that I have had with Aqua Concepts. I can't even blame them for the sand that periodically gets tracked into the house. I am the culprit for not taking my shoes off at the back door. Most of the time I am home during weekdays because my university teaching position is predominantly online now, so I saw the work progression here on a daily basis. <br /> <br /> They are meticulously careful about everything, even taking out partially completed decking to get a better slope and brick design. I thought their first effort was fine, but they decided otherwise. The pool itself is utterly gorgeous with white plaster, deep blue tiles (with gold flecks) that match my late parents newly recovered umbrella, and multi-colored coping tile to match the brick deck. The finished pool is 40 feet long and 8 feet wide for perfect lap swimming. I was so excited when the pool was being filled that I took pictures hourly on my iPad to chronicle the progress. A lap pool is economical to heat compared to the old fashioned 8 foot deep pools that always had cold spots. The pool regulates the water level by itself. (However, it does not cook dinner.) For me swimming is the best form of exercise and I can tell that this pool is already doing its job, since no amount of dieting tones and tightens the tummy, thighs, and upper arms like real swimming. Finally, the company included three fountains that spray water into the pool whenever I turn them on. They reflect the sunlight during the day and the pool lighting at night. It is so much fun to swim with the fountains on and to think that I declined ordering them. Thank you Richard for giving them to me as a wonderful gift. I am hosting the next luncheon of our family cousin's club and it will be poolside.

Richard and Scott are the best! Our project started with an existing pool with clogged drains all around the decking, a fence that was falling down and cracked masonry. Richard gave us a bid that was fair and we started the work. We wanted to add a raised spa, redo the drains around the pool, fix the backyard fence and add a large covered patio. Quite a job! It wasn't an overnight construction project, for sure! Long story short, our back yard is stunning!! Our pool and spa are gorgeous, our pool plumbing is finally correct, our decking drains, everything we wanted was done. The patio cover is amazing and a wonderful addition to our outdoor area - it's like a new family room was added to our house! Our entire backyard is new and beautiful and we just love it! Original plans were to install a swimming pool/spa. After receiving numerous bids, I chose Aqua Concepts. The owner Richard Schwag & his partner are professional, and knowledgeable. They answered all of my many questions/concerns in detail. They kindly took me to a previous client's home, where I witnessed their creative work; pool/spa & patio, built to perfection...I was sold. Due to personal reasons, I did not install a pool/spa, rather had Aqua Concepts put in a brick patio. The crew was efficient, excellent job. The owner kept in contact with me on a continual basis, until the project was complete. Everyone who visits my home comments on my patio, then calls Aqua Concepts for their swimming pool needs, as well as other home improvements. I highly recommend Aqua Concepts, $$$ well spent.
