Tree removal went fine until they cracked my driveway and refused to do anything about it.

Tree removal was good, but stumps not ground to below grade. Worker used our bathroom and left a horrible smell after being in there for 20 minutes.

We had a tree removed over 3 weeks ago and we are still waiting on someone to come back and remove all of the wood chips from the stump grinding. I have called and left messages multiple times with no replies. We finally were able to reach them again after calling from a different number. We were told we would be refunded for the chip removal and still have someone come back to finish the job, but about 2 weeks later there has been no progress. Right now there is still a pile of chips there and partial part of a root sticking out of the ground that was pulled up in the removal process. The initial tree removal work was very well done but I’m incredibly frustrated with the lack of communication back.

Went very well. He came out looked over the tree, quoted me a price. Work was completed safely and much sooner than I expected. Clean up was cleaned up. Yes I would rehire again. Thanks Arbor Barber

The Arbor Barber rep was onsite within the hour to give their expert opinion and upfront pricing, which I easily accepted. Within an hour of that the crew was onsite to begin work. They were wrapped up and gone within 90 minutes, leaving my yard in very clean condition. I highly recommend Arbor Barber.

I signed the contract to do the work summer 2018! Trimming oaks must be done during the winter months. Non-refundable down payment made. Every time I contacted Arbor Barber(winters of 2019,2020,2021), John asked me for a copy of the contract. (I would think: What? He doesn't have it?) John would reply that he would do the work and then go silent. After years of contacting, work finally done March 2021. Came on a day without telling me ahead of time so I was at work, and "trimmed" my oak tree. However, his workers only did lower branches. Claimed that was all I had contracted to do. Small shooter branches not removed from other major limbs. John said it would be an additional cost! Contract also says accepts payment by credits cards. But when I tried to use that option, I was then told there would be a 5% fee. This was not stated on the contract. I said an additional fee for using credit cards wasn't on the contract. And that I had previously said I intended to use a credit card, John had not informed me of the additional fee. Only at time of payment, was this surprise added on. Bait and switch? Poor management? Contract that doesn't explain expectations clearly? What would you think as a consumer in a similar spot? Do you want to hire a company run this way?

I had an immediate estimate after I requested via Angie's list. Paid 50% up front. 2 appointments were missed without any communication. This caused some mistrust. My email was answered with apology. A week later, it was done with out any notice. But when all was completed, all that I asked to be done was accomplished without my presence. They cleaned up everything too. Great job!

Excellent. Called for a quote to have my dead pine removed and owner was out within an hour. He gave a reasonable price and after agreeing he had his guys out with 3 hours they did an excellent job and the job took them about an 1 1/2 hours. I will definitely use Arbor Barber again and highly recommend them.

The crew did a wonderful, thorough job in cutting down one tree including the stump and pruned a second tree. They cleaned up everything when they were finished. John and Keith were very friendly and suggested some additional trimming be done, to which we agreed. Good to have the second tree limbs pruned so they wouldn't touch or damage our roof in the future.

Work was done quickly and at a reasonable price. Was also very thorough and helped take out a fence in order to get at the rest of the root. All around great work.

I had half of a willow tree break off and fall onto my deck, destroying it and landing in the narrow space between my house and my neighbor. I called at 7:00 AM, and by 8:30 AM they arrived to survey the scene. By 9:30 AM they were chopping up the tree, and they wrapped up before noon, with the yard cleaned up. You can't really tell there was a downed willow to be honest. This was no small feat, given the constrained space and size of the tree. John and his team were prompt, professional, and got the job done quickly and safely. I have a couple of other projects I need done, and I'll certainly hire them again. Five Stars/Two Thumbs Up/Plus Ultra and what not.

It was excellent. They had a special machine that could reach the top of my trees. I have an expensive fence and deck they did not damage anything.

A tree from my yard split and half of it landed on my house after Friday’s storm causing a lot of roof and structural damage as well as puncturing a hole in the wall. On Saturday morning Arbor Barber was working a couple of houses down on another neighbor’s house. John walked over and gave me a quote of $9,000 to come the next day and remove the tree from my house. The crew arrived the next morning (Sunday) with a crane, cherry picker, and a bunch of other machinery. They worked hard for 6 hours to remove the tree from my house, clean up the area and haul away the wood. I was happy with the crew (especially the crane operator, who was contracted by Arbor Barber for this job). If I was able to give the crew their own rating I would give them an A. My issue is not with the quality of service provided. My issue is with all the additional fees that were added onto the bill without my knowledge or agreement to them. I had already expected to pay $9,000 for this job, but when it came time to settle the bill, it was over $14,000! I was charged almost $200 to spray some foam in a crack, $650 to put a board on a window, and over $1,440 to put a tarp on the roof! Had I known I was being charged outrageously priced additional charges over and above the quote, I could have easily figured out a different and much less expensive way to solve them. John was not transparent at all with his pricing and I feel cheated and taken advantage of by him. When I expressed shock at all the additional costs that I was not aware of, I was told “It’s Sunday and everything costs more” (which he never expressed when giving me the quote) and “Don’t worry, insurance will cover it all.” It felt as though he was taking advantage of me as a single woman, the emergency nature of the situation, and trying to gauge me and my insurance company with inflated prices. John was defensive when talking with me about the huge price difference from what I was originally quoted. To try to appease me, he took off a fee of $195, which was what he had charged to assess the remaining tree as a hazard. All he did was say “this tree needs to come down” and proceed to quote me another $5,200 to remove the remaining standing portion of the tree. Because John does not work directly with insurance, I had to pay the full amount upfront and now I’ll be crossing my fingers that my insurance company will reimburse me the cost of this ridiculously overpriced bill. I will not be using Arbor Barber again and I caution others before hiring John. Don’t assume that the quote will cover the cost in its entirety or that John will be upfront and transparent with fees. Make sure every single charge is spelled out in writing before services begin.

It went great. This was a challenging job and Arbor Barber was up to the task. The tree was between the house and garage with very limited room to work. The stump of the tree that was removed was four feet across. The job required power be cut to my home and my neighbor's home. Arbor Barber handled all of the details and the interruption was minimal.

He left the second dead dangling branch loose and balanced on live branches over driveway- ID googled him and saw good reviews because i didn’t know there were two. I called the one in Lakeville and he said he’d fired John Koppi becca he cheated people. He’d tried to sue for the name. I should not have paid for service without seeing! John is a con artist.
