This is the second time I've contracted with Arbor Brickworks and it's now on my "Refer to Friends" list.  It's so hard to locate a mason in the first place, then a fella who will educate and charge a fair price. Taylor continues to be "Johnny On the Spot" sort of fella.  Very motivated professional with super high standards with his finished product.  Don't miss out on this vendor...  Atta boy Taylor!

The initial contact with Arbor Brickworks was great, very prompt reply to my call.  Taylor came out to my mother's house, assessed the job, gave his opinion on an attractive and durable replacement for the ugly and crumbling brickwork.  He gave an estimate of 2000.00 to remove the porch floor and walkway.  His crew came out within a couple of weeks and did the work.  I was advised that it would take a week or so for the aggregate concrete to be fully exposed, and that they would return to pour a seam between the front porch and the walkway, and a few weeks after that, would return to install a one step hand rail -- charged separately at 300-500.00.   <br /> After letting the aggregate set/cure, I contacted Taylor because I was concerned about how uneven the surface of the walkway was.  There were hollows and rises creating trip hazards.  Taylor told me these were just in the nature of the exposed aggregate finish, and offered to do a seal coat for free.  But once he came out, and examined the work himself, he agreed that not only was the sunken seam unacceptable, there were several uneven places in the walkway that made the job, in his own words, <strong><em>not up to his standards</em></strong>, and he said he would redo the walkway.  The date he set for the re-do came and went; I contacted him and he apologized, said they were busy, and they'd be out sometime in the first half of July.  I replied, saying that I understood this was their busy time, and I would be fine with their returning towards the end of the season, late September maybe, to re-do the walkway.  I just asked that he schedule the re-do with enough time to also get the handrail installed before it got too cold.  No reply from Taylor.  I figured that meant he was happy with that suggestion; I was trying to be very fair by not insisting that they spend valuable time during the busy season re-doing the job.   <br /> In August, I contacted Taylor about scheduling the re-do -- no reply.  I have emailed or texted him at least four times -- no reply.  I sent one more email asking if he had walked away from this job, to let me know either way so that I could get someone else in to re-do the walkway and install the hand rail.  No reply.  I've  <strong>never </strong>written a bad review before; I've always found that when you treat people professionally and with respect, they respond in the same way.  Sadly, not true with Arbor Brickworks. <br />

I was prepared for an excellent experience based on these Angie's List reviews, but unfortunately was disappointed. The actual work performed was good and appears correctly done. Taylor is personable and knowledgeable, and the crew members I interacted with were nice, but I'm not happy that three days after the time promised (and two unanswered phone messages), there is still a ladder, large containers of sealant, various small tools, and a bag of garbage sitting on our lawn. These were left when they finished the job Friday; we knew the patio sealant needed 24 hours to dry, so Taylor asked if they could pick it up Saturday. Fine -- but Saturday came and went, and a call I made Sunday wasn't returned. My husband and I ended up moving all the patio furniture, grill, plants, etc back to the patio ourselves; we should not have had to do this. I'm glad now that we did, otherwise it would all still be piled up on the lawn. <br /> The job cost was in line with what I expected. I was bothered, however, that after paying a deposit, with the balance due upon completion, Taylor asked for payment in full just days later, before the job was finished. I expect that as a small business, cash flow and employee paychecks can be tricky to balance, but it didn't sit well with me. My husband agreed to it, though, and Taylor showed up first thing Friday morning to get it. He and the crew didn't come back to start work until after 11 am that day; I was told there had been an emergency on another job. <br /> I say that I would work with the company again, because I do think the work was of good quality and the price was fair. But I would do so knowing that I'd have to be more 'demanding' and right on top of things. I'm pleased to see a younger generation passionate about an important trade that requires both knowledge and craftsmanship, but the company's customer service and responsiveness wasn't up to par on this job. <br />

We selected Arbor Brickworks based primarily on their high rating on Angie's list.  Their estimate of the rather extensive work to be done on our three story chimney and rebuild of the courtyard walls and adding limestone caps to both seemed very reasonable.  They performed all the work as detailed to us in a highly professional and timely manner and within budget.  We give them our highest recommendation because we believe you will experience the same total satisfaction with their work. <br />

Arbor Brickworks provided prompt, professional services.  I ultimately decided to go with them because I wanted the repair work done right - which they definitely did.   Once completed, you could barely tell that repair work had been done. <br />

Work was started on the date given in the quote.  Quote was provided within 24 hours of my inquiry.  There was a high degree of focus on doing quality work.  The owner and workers were easy to talk to and professional.   I was very satisfied with the work and would use them again. <br />

Taylor and his crew did a great job. The crew was professional, punctual, and respectful from start to finish. They did a great job matching the brick and handled a difficult repair with ease. I highly recommend Arbor Brickworks LLC. <br />

Taylor and his crew were punctual, and very skilled.  Our chimney is beautiful, as well as the garage and garden box.   Taylor and his crew were very personable, and easy to talk to.  It is very apparent that he and his team take pride in their work.  We will and have already recommended Arbor Brickworks to friends and family.
