Ed and his team were great to work with. They provided several options as well as their preferred choice. The work was completed on time and the price was very reasonable. The work was also completed without significantly disturbing the rest of the yard. Ed always responded quickly and we have subsequently requested some additional work to be completed in the next few weeks in another area of the yard. We look forward to working with Arbor Hills in the future.

Ed and his staff were absolutely wonderful to work with. They planted a tree as a memorial for my niece and they were so willing to take on this project at a time I know had to be extremely busy for them. Ed helped us find the right tree, helped coordinate getting it planted on school grounds, and finding the time to get it in and planted on short notice. I highly recommend Arbor Hills!

We are incredibly please with the quality of concrete work done for our patio. The guys contracted to come out got the project done in less than 3 days. They were here before 7 am and worked hard. Even with the heavy machinery they used, they were very considerate and laid down boards to drive on, resulting in absolutely no damage to the yard. It turned out lovely. I do not feel as satisfied with the quality of work on the mulch beds. From a quick glance, the dark mulch and healthy plants look nice, but a good portion of the grass around the mulch beds was trampled down to solid dirt, the natural edging now looks like the mulch edge is just a bunch of dirt everywhere. When I water the plants in the beds, the mulch is thin enough around some plants that it is just solid mud (it is thicker in other areas). One of the beds installed was supposed to be a straight 3ft wide up to an A/C unit and get wider to be around it. They were unable to make a straight line in the edging and the bed goes from 3 ft to a quick 2ft and then around the A/C. It looks sloppy, not aesthetic. One of my popup drains was not installed to be flat with the ground, it's cover has been broken barely two weeks later. I had asked and payed for all the stumps and old bushes to be removed from the mulch bed, there have now been four stumps with green shoots I’ve noticed coming up through the mulch. Turns out they left them and just covered them with dirt and mulch. Also, the Red Dragon Red Maple tree that was put in is pretty, but for $300, I thought it would be taller than 4.5’ tall. I called the owner with my concerns before constructing this review, he did not have very good customer service. He dismissed all my concerns and said that it was to be expected with landscaping and construction. But, his own cement crew was able to show how little damage can be made by being considerate with heavy construction equipment. He said he would come out to look at the forgotten stumps in the mulch and was defensive about the popup drain that was damaged. He insisted that they were even with the ground surface. He did send someone out the following week to remove additional stumps…he removed one. $7084

Ed and his crew were awesome to work with! They designed several ideas to go with our new contemporary lake home to give it that extra pop with lush sod, beautiful trees, shrubs and flowering plants. The crew worked very hard to meet our expectations and we are super pleased with the results!

The entire team was very professional and accommodating. The landscaped area is beautiful. I am very pleased with the work done. Arbor Hills Trees & Landscaping exceeded our expectations relative to product quality and professionalism during installation. Ed was very easy to work with and was always quick to respond to my questions. The patio is colored concrete with a stamped pattern that he helped us pick out and is absolutely beautiful. I am extremely satisfied. The price was a lot less then what I was expecting to pay for what I got.

Arbor hills was easy to work with, and their website was VERY helpful. They suggested a different tree from what I had initially wanted based on the size of my yard. They installed it exactly when I wanted it, were careful not to damage my new sod, and gave me very specific care instructions. <br />

Ed, with Arbor Hills, visited with us to discuss what our wishes were, developed a landscape that met those wishes and talked to us about our options with the trees we wanted. The estimate was very affordable and we accepted his bid. Ed was very easy to work with. He was easy to contact and allowed us the opportunity to select the trees he was to plant. Arbor Hills did an excellent job with the installation of the landscape, cleaned up after their job was done, and provided instructions on watering. Any additional cost was fully explaned in the the email sent with the bill. I will definately have Arbor Hills do any future landscaping!

It has been a horrible experience. Ed lies. He hired a sub-contracter to do the concrete work and then told us that we hired him and would have to pay him or he would put a lean against our property. When we contacted the subcontractor he shared he had already been paid. The subcontractor chose to cut our sprinkler system line rather than run it under our patio. Ed agreed to pay for the sprinkler system damage and told us to send him the bill. Now Ed is blaming us for this and wants us to pay for the damage done to our sprinkler system. When walking our property - we discussed the patio as well as an additional cement pad for our generator box. Ed said he would do both. He even offered to do stamped concrete for both and we shared we only needed it for the patio area. Since the project was done, Ed now says that the generator box cement pad was not in the original bid. Never before had we been informed that his bid was not all inclusive of the work we agreed to during our walk through. <br /> <br /> We have worked with many construction, plumbing, and landscape businesses over the past 20 years. We have never had an issue like this where the owner bids a job and later denies that it included the work agreed to. We've worked with a different local landscape company for the past 15 years and have been very happy with them, but switched because of the price Ed offered in his bid. We should have never switched. Mr DeWilpelare's dishonesty is incredible. As a fraud investigator professionally for almost 20 years, I'm used to people being put in jail or being fined for falsifying records and lying. In these cases you have the law to protect you. What is the protection a consumer has from a fraudulent and dishonest business owner?

"Most of [member name removed] comments are very one sided and so are simply not true. Once on site [member name removed] continued to request services not include in the initial bid. We always listen to the customer and do what they direct us to do, in [member name removed] case he just assumed these extra services were free. He ask my sub contractor on the site to do work for him which he wanted done, like remove concrete block that was on site and dispose of it, move existing drain tile and sprinklers and add a new concreted pad for his back up generator that was never on the bid. When billed for these extra services [member name removed] refused to pay me. He ignored my final invoice and simply sent me a check for what he thought was fair, which did not even included the sales tax that was owed on the job. It was very unfortunate but the job came out looking great, fully patio stamped and poured. Large berm with LG boulders and trees. I hope [member name removed] comes back for more work. I have no issue with him now that the invoice has been paid after deep discounts on my part as a goodwill gesture to [member name removed]."

The experience was great. I called Arbor Hills and scheduled a site visit for 3 Sep 13 and Ed DeWispelare, the owner came out to talk with us about trees, location, cost estimate, and his company. Ed provided exceptional detail on tree options and really guided us through the process. We decided to use Arbor Hills, requested two Maple trees and a Pear, then scheduled the appointment for 12 Sep 13. Ed arranged with the Dig Hotline and the various companies came out on the 4th and 5th. During a call with Ed on the 4th, he explained he had another tree delivery planned for the 5th in our area and wondered if it would be acceptable to deliver our trees on the 5th too. We didn't have a reason to wait, so we agreed. The plan was for late morning and the three person team arrived at 1230. We were present for the whole process and all three Arbor Hill employees conducted themselves professionally and worked very efficiently. After unloading their equipment, they moved the trees to the areas in our yard I'd selected and immediately began digging the holes with a power auger. It went very quickly, with one person digging the holes and the other two placing the trees, back-filling the tree, and adding mulch. Once all trees holes were dug, the third person helped with the final tree. The three guys cleaned up, loaded their equipment, and dropped off the invoice. <br />

The buying process was smooth, well communicated and the prices were great! The 2 guys who came to plant the trees were on time, very precise and lined the trees up perfectly!! They were neat, and no trash was left behind. They communicated to us detailed instructions on how to care for our trees. And the trees are guaranteed! A wonderful experience and the trees look great!!!! <br />

We weren't real happy with them. It was supposed to be a day and a half project. These two clowns came out and got it done in a day. They used a small tractor to haul the gravel to the back of the house. It left ruts and tank tracks on the side of my house. I had to fill it in with bags of sand to get the tracks out of the side of the yard. They were supposed to put paving stones in the back of the house but they laid them down on the ground and didn't dig out the ground. They would rock back and forth when we pushed on them with our feet. The edging was not square again the fence and was 3 inches short of coming to the patio. They damaged my air conditioner. They did not clean up after themselves. There was dirt all over my driveway. They had their radio blasting all day. I went out to talk to them twice and they didn't seem interested in talking to me. The plastic guard they put down to keep the weeds from popping up was short by 4 to 5 inches in some areas. They didn't level the dirt before they put the gravel down. They didn't make it look decent. I found pins and all kinds of things in the yard. They dumped the rock on top of the plastic and the rock was spilling out the gates and going into the neighbor's yard. We were pretty upset and got the owner back out. He said that he didn't think it looked that bad. We had gone with a small local company to help support the local economy. It cost more money but we wanted that personal touch. He acknowledged that there were a couple of things they could have done better but he didn't want to own up to any more than that. Somebody had slammed a wheelbarrow into the air conditioner. They did reset the paving stones so they wouldn't wobble. They did level it out. He said they didn't clean up because there wasn't a hose and there was a hose on the side of the house that had been there for 5 years. They did fix a lot of our complaints and the 3 of them were here about 5 hours. We had the air conditioning company come out to check to see if it would work and we deducted $100 off their bill to pay the air conditioning company. We took pictures of all of it. We would not use them in the future.

"In any new landscape job comes certain challenges. The scope of the job involved moving a truck load of river rock to the far back yard. We have a mini skid steer on a track so it did make some tracks moving that much weight of the rock. We did correct the ruts and re set some of the stepping stones as needed. I feel I was responsive to the customer issues and we did correct them in a timely manner. This job was more than 3 seasons ago and have put in place tight quality control measures and post job clean up check list. Arbor Hills has been providing trees and landscaping to the metro area since 1998 and serve well over 100 new customers each year. We do our best to provide high quality products and we strive to meet or exceed customer expectations. Ed DeWispelare Owner"
