Armstrong's Landscaping

I would like to send a good review concerning Armstrong's landscaping. I would say professional, sincere, quality and affordable. A good chance to brighten the corner where you are and when you can! His designs are good he save me money, God bless.

My husband I contacted three landscaping companies in early February. Out of the three, two took some pictures and answered our questions, but they never got back to us with an estimate. Reggie was the last to meet with us due to scheduling problems. When he met with us, he took the time to describe what he envisioned for our flowerbeds and was able to give us an estimate that day. The project began on May 24th and was completed the next day. The flowerbeds in the front of the house were overgrown and/or dead. Reggie and his employee, Nick, tore out everything and proceeded to edge, plant shrubs and perennials. He also trimmed our dwarf cherry tree, cleaned up the beds and spread mulch. In addition, he also planted four cypresses on our properly line to give us a little privacy. We are pleased with the end result. Reggie is a professional and we recommend him for any landscaping projects.

They were very good. Always on time and always cleaning up after the job is done.

Mr. Armstrong is very good at selling himself and his services, but his execution is severely lacking. His favorite line is” I’m good at what I do” but you will quickly figure out if you have to keep announcing that it’s probably open for debate. I only wanted mulch and I let myself get talked into letting him do the entire job. He said the job was 1200.00 to mulch and plant flowers, and clean up bed in front yard. He will say” I know my worth, I’m good at what I do “ yet again and talk so fast because he is doing nothing but wheeling and dealing. I supplied all materials so I knew I was not getting a great price but in all honesty I was trying to get it done before I went back to work full time and no one else was available until the end of September . He was horrible, rude and condescending . . The edging was not good , the plants were barely underground. When I came out I was so upset. We had a contract that stated what was to be done , what flowers were to come up and he ripped out every single plant. When I asked him what happened he stated trust me I know what I’m doing., That I assure anyone who wants to work with him IS NOT ACCURATE. He does what he wants. I went inside to calm myself down. Came back out to find I bought 12 arborvitae shrubs 8 orchids 4 golden mop shrubs and other ornamental plants. He hadn’t planted most of them, and worst of all he ripped out flowers he was never authorized to pull up. When he was done he asked me what I thought. My yard was a wreck. I was so embarrassed that I paid for his service. I asked why he didn’t plant 12 of my 16 shrubs, he told me I don’t need them. Now I was livid. I told him I want them and that’s what I paid you to do. He then laughs and tells me he’s a “design expert” and I don’t need them . I didn’t have flower beds I had mulch beds, over 4 inches of mulch. He started to argue and I politely told him I don’t argue to spend money, please just leave everything and go home. He says “ I’m about my money” not making the client happy, not doing a great job... “ I’m about my money”. He says you should have stayed out here to tell me where to place things. Now I’m paying an” expert” but I need to babysit... He tells me then tell me what you want and starts yanking my plants out of the ground , then proceeds to start texting and ignoring me when I’m telling him what the issues with his work were . He had a young teenager working with him and I felt so bad because all I wanted to do was curse this man out but I didn’t want to do it because this young man was watching us and I didn’t want him to see how two adults couldn’t maintain professionalism. Mr Armstrong insisted to finish the job, and for the duration he was unprofessional and refused to make all corrections because his pride and ego took over. I am so dissatisfied with his level of professional and skill level. His work is mediocre and I stand by every word. I would never recommend to anyone.

He started ok but never finished the job. Many of the plants he planted died and he promised that he will redo them in early spring. He never completed the leftover fall cleaning. Will not recommend or hire again.

Reggie kept in touch as to when the work would start. He did a FANTASTIC job getting my landscaping under control! What would have taken me days took Reggie a few hours. I will continue to use Armstrong!

Work was done very quickly and professionally after delays due to the rainy weather this summer season.

Reggie was extremely professional, engaged and responsive.

When he first arrived he mentioned he would only work three hours and since there were two of them they would only work an hour and a half. I called him on that stating none of that was stated in the deal and he did not push the issue. He did edging and mulch, but put the mulch in the wrong place which made it so we had to buy more mulch and pay more. He did a great job on what he did, but he was a bit of a wheeler dealer which I didn’t care for at all. Again, the job he did was excellent.

The work by Armstrong Landscaping transformed my yard. They did a great job edging and mulching extensive plant beds. I heartily recommend their work.

Reggie and his team did a great job. He listened and provided recommendations and we hired him for a year. We also recommended him to our neighbors!

I have worked with Mr. Armstrong for several years now and have found him to be easy going but very professional. He has done all of my landscaping and has always listened to my requests for "care free" plantings

Great. Mr. Armstrong has landscaped my property for the last five years. He is always on time and he’s professional but friendly. Where I had green shrubs and a few daffodils I now have colorful flowers and a beautiful, unusual azalea all surrounded by black mulch which really shows off the colors. In the fall he cleans out the beds so everything is ready for the spring. I plan to be a customer for a long time.

Armstrong Landscaping was phenomenal! All services were completed on-time, as quoted and the end-result was better than I expected. Reggie communicated throughout the process, gave status updates on where the project was, what work was still to be completed at various points and the time-frame each stage would be completed. I would highly recommend his services and would use again in a heartbeat.

Mr Armstrong arrived on time and went right to work. He was very professional, displays a great deal of integrity and is accommodating. He worked relentlessly until the job was finished and what a fantastic job he did. My yard is now a source of pride for me. What a transformation. I highly recommend Armstrong's Landscaping.

It is a relatively small back yard. It was in need of being leveled off, grass seed planted, weeds destroyed, etc. The landscapers suggested building a low wall with concrete blocks, thus raising the level of the grass plot, then filling that in and planting the seed. This was a good idea, and a very effective solution to a problem area. I rated some parts of the work a "B" because I did not want to mislead readers into thinking that this was a larger or more complex project than it was. I was quite satisfied with the work.

Reggie and his team were FANTASTIC. He scheduled a walk through at a time that was convenient to fit our schedule. We not only loved his ideas but really liked him at a personal level. He listened to everything my wife wanted and offered suggestions that would help save us money. The final product was nothing less than amazing. There were 3 beds that's were removed and replaced with river rock replacing an outdated (hideous) white stone. The rest of the beds and front display were symmetrically enhanced with shrubs and flowers replacing an overgrown mess. Hard to explain how great it looks - wish I could post pictures. Highly recommend his services!

Armstrong representatives came out on one of the hottest days of the summer to remove massive amounts of tall, overgrown weeds in flower beds along the perimeter of my fenced in back yard. They did a good job removing weeds and hauling them away.

So the project went nothing as planned. We ordered 3 inches of mulch to be laid over fabric. Everywhere we look within weeks of the work being done; the fabric is showing and or coming up everywhere (so we didn't receive the amount of mulch as was promised or it was laid improperly). In addition, we ordered an island to be built with 12 leyland cypress's (6-8ft tall) to create a privacy wall. Instead, without communication or discussion with us, we got an island with 5 3-foot tall leyland cypress's and 5 Forsythia bushes. When confronted we were told that it was his professional decision! ***!!!!!! How about it's my yard and not what we ordered. Now I have no privacy wall around my pool and probably won't for many years to come until they grow! Like ordering a BMW and they give you a beat up Gremlin for the same price without talking to you; SURPRISE! One accolade is that he was willing to adjust the price, but as we have evaluated the work further we have withheld payment till he either fixes the issues or no further payment will be made. We sent him pictures regarding the mulch and fabric issues and he has not responded in almost a month. This guy is a slick talker and thinks he is outwitting people, but he's a bad business person and knows nothing about customer service or communication.

This is a revised review. I called Armstrong about my unhappiness with the species that were replaced as there were different from what I already had. I asked that the shrubs be removed and a refund issued or to remove the shrubs and replace with the same species. Within 30 minutes of my call, Mr Armstrong was at my home and gave me a full refund. He did not remove the shrubs. I was pleased with Mr. Armstrong's integrity. Now for the job description: Armstrong came on time and proceeded to remove 5 globe arborvitaes. They only sawed the trunks to the ground and did not dig out the root. We had contracted for the shrubs to be dug out and they were not. Mr. Armstrong said the remaining stumps would not cause an issue. But that was not what we had contracted. Then Mr. Armstrong disappeared for more than an hour and when they finally returned, there were 4 arborvitae replacements and they were not of the same species that were already there. They were very scrawny-looking and were not 6-8 feet tall. Only two were staked and these appeared to be the stakes that came with the shrubs. I was not happy with the replacements. Mr. Armstrong reduced the price from $400 but I definitely was not happy with the whole process and result.
