Art Woodstone Studio - Custom Furniture

Wonderful. Delightful to deal with; excellent work; fairly priced.

We had previously used Art Woodstone 10 years earlier when we asked them to build extensive bookcases and cabinets when we finished our basement. When it came time this year to redo our main floor we turned to Tea and George again to do a slightly smaller but unique project to build two wall bookcases that would connect to a fireplace mantle and then two moveable wooden dog crates to fill in the space below the bookcases and to either side of the hearth. From a rough sketch of what the finished concept would look like, they were able to produce a beautiful custom set. It matched our vision exactly. They worked with our primary contractor's lead carpenter to ensure the piece would have good anchoring in the studs behind the drywall. I cannot speak highly enough of their craftsmanship. The bookcase and mantlepiece are beautiful pieces of wood and spectacular to look at. The dog crates are beyond exceptional. The careful work George did to ensure tight joins at the corners and the wooden slats was stunning. Our lead carpenter from the renovation was deeply impressed by the work. As an add on to this effort, they also restored a large wooden partner's desk that has been in our family for over 50 years. Over that time the desk had it's finish worn away in spots, was sunbleached in others, and had corners gnawed on by puppies in the day. They took that shabby mess of a desk and restored to a shine and gleam that is something to behold. AWS is worth every penny that you will pay for their work. True artisans with an eye for detail and a feel for design. Would recommend them EVERY time.

Fantastic Craftwork!!! They converted my cheery wood shaker style TV armoire into storage/linen cabinet. I highly recommend them and it was at an affordable price. Plus they picked up and delivered. I am so pleased that I didn't have to get rid of the cabinet and can use it for another use. You don't get this kind of quality craftsmanship now days. A good tradesman is worth their weight in gold. Highly recommend.

What a fantastic experience. George and Tea are so friendly. Before restoration began, we discussed the entire project and looked the piece over with great care. This piece of furniture is 120 years old and had a lot of loose and damaged parts. Now, the piece is solid and exquisitely restored. I never dreamed this cabinet could look so beautiful and it is a testament to true craftsmanship. Their prices are very fair and their overall professionalism is commendable.

I contacted Art Woodstone Studio about making a custom bench with drawers for my den. George and Tea, the owners, came to my townhouse to discuss the project. We discussed the dimensions, design, and they gave an estimate. I had contact with them during the period they were making the bench and we would discuss any needed clarifications. They are very easy to work with. Six weeks later they delivered my bench. The bench is beautiful and I’m well satisfied. I highly recommend Art Woodstone Studio. Their prices are reasonable for the quality of work.

Tea and George are the best! The attention to detail and responsiveness you get from them is second-to-none. Tea would respond to all of my emails promptly and in great detail, which is unlike any other contractor I've dealt with. George spent hours measuring and getting every detail correct before starting work on our pantry project, and it installed without a hitch! The end result was exactly what we were looking for, and we couldn't be happier! I would recommend Art Woodstone for any of your carpentry needs!

It was an absolute pleasure working with George and Tea and the final product was beautiful. The workmanship is outstanding and nothing was overlooked. The walls are quite uneven in my home and it took meticulous attention to detail to ensure a quality result. I couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out. It is a work of art. The price may be a bit higher than what others may quote, but it is well worth it!!!!!

They were great. Came and took measurements and discussed desired finished product. When they came for installation the shelves fit perfectly and look great. George and Tea are artists who take pride in a job done right. I'm looking around for another project to give them.

Art Woodstone Studio, LLC is outstanding!!! My husband and I waited years to update and design our master bedroom and bathroom. In our bathroom, I wanted a specific design for my vanity...an ebony Chippendale Asian-Inspired Vanity. I spent months searching the web for possible options, but unfortunately did not find the right one to meet my needs. I, however, did find a photo of a design that fit my desires. Now, I needed to find a contractor that could custom build this design for me. I went to Angie's List to start my search, and I was extremely fortunate to "HIT the JACKPOT" in finding George Tkabladze and Tea Okropiridze at Art Woodstone Studio, LLC in my initial search. I called Art Woodstone Studio, and spoke with the lovely Tea Okropiridze, Designer/Owner. After discussing my project, Tea suggested my husband and I visit their studio to further discuss our vanity design with her and her husband, George Tkabladze, Sculptor/Designer/Owner. What a wonderful pleasure to meet both Tea and George. They both welcomed us to their beautiful studio, and we were extremely impressed with their portfolio. My husband and I discussed our project and provided a photo of the vanity design we wanted. For our vanity, we just needed a custom-built base since we were placing a Cambria stone on top. George and Tea provided us with a wealth of information and made excellent suggestions both in the design, materials (Solid Cherry), and construction of the vanity. George and Tea are also extremely detail oriented, making a visit to our home to make sure all measurements were exact, and also providing us a finish wood sample of our piece. After the design was complete, George did his magic, and delivered us the most gorgeous, stunning Chippendale Asian-Inspired Vanity Base. It was like Christmas on the day of delivery, and we were ecstatic upon unwrapping the vanity... how wonderfully beautiful it is; we couldn't be more pleased. And, the quality and workmanship is IMPECCABLE and OUTSTANDING!!! George and Tea are truly talented artisans and gems to work with!

We met Tea some years ago when she completed a 3D rendering for a couple of pieces of furniture built for our small dining room. The job had been completed by two other people who then moved on to another business.   <br /> We contacted Tea when we could not find an adequate replacement for a vanity and after learning that she has been working with her husband, we set up a time to meet.  This meeting took place at the end of April.   <br /> Tea and George came to our home and carefully listened to what we wanted, thoroughly reviewed our options and patiently addressed questions and concerns.  It was challenging for us to adequately describe the piece we needed and George and Tea did a fabulous job of elucidating what they heard.  George even drew a sketch to help us "see" the piece he thought we wanted.  They then took careful measurements.   <br /> We had no idea how expensive this piece of furniture would be and when George gave us an estimate of the "ideal" vanity, we were stunned.  It was far more than we expected it to be.  We asked for a price for a less intricate vanity and it was graciously provided. George and Tea exerted absolutely no pressure to opt for the higher priced piece.  This was greatly appreciated. <br /> It was decided that Tea would do renderings of the simpler, less expensive vanity as well as drawings of the more elaborate vanity. <br /> We understood that the cost of the renderings would be absorbed by the cost of the vanity we ultimately chose and would not be covered should we decide to do nothing.  This was very fair and the renderings proved just how fair this actually was. <br /> Tea emailed the renderings soon after our meeting and they were extremely lifelike.  It allowed us to fully visualize the two different options.  She also generously offered to answer any questions we had about specific details.  Emails were always answered quickly and professionally. <br /> We ultimately decided to go with the more expensive option.   <br /> We had been told that the piece would not be started until summer and were surprised when Tea emailed in early July to say it was just about to be completed.  I had neglected to ask her to include one small detail, believing that the piece would not be ready until August, and she graciously agreed to add the detail as the piece was not entirely finished.   <br /> We set up a date for delivery and as usual, Tea and George arrived on time.  George kindly helped move the old vanity out of our bedroom before carrying the new piece upstairs.   <br /> The rendering of this vanity was quite realistic but did not prepare us for the startling beauty of the actual piece of furniture.  We were stunned when George removed the plastic!  The vanity was a work of art! <br /> Not only was the piece a perfect match to our existing furniture,  it addressed all that we wanted and reflected a superior degree of craftsmanship.  George thought of small details to enhance the efficiency of the piece and to ensure its ease of use.  Instead of simply gluing the mirror to the back panel with no concern for future issues, he installed a removable piece above the mirror so that it could be easily replaced should it become necessary to do so.  This is just one example of his forethought and skill. <br /> After seeing the piece, we clearly understood the cost and believe it was an extremely fair price for what we have. <br /> Our experience was completely positive, from exchanges with this engaging, respectful and talented couple, to the finished product.  We highly recommend them.

I purchased a dining room table three years ago and at the time of the purchase, I was given the option to buy an additional table leaf (it came with one leaf). I didn't buy the additional leaf and after living with the table for a couple of years, I realized I made a huge mistake. I contacted the manufacturer to see if I could still buy a leaf, but unfortunately, the table style had been discontinued. I contacted Art Woodstone Studio after visiting their website and reading all their amazing reviews on Angie's List. I knew immediately after meeting Tea and George that if anyone would be able to make make another leaf for my table, they would! Tea and George were so wonderful to work with. They are true artists! George duplicated my existing leaf right down to the stain color. It looks so good, I can't tell the difference between the original table leaf and the new one. I am so pleased with my new table leaf and can't wait to host my next dinner party because now I will have tons of room at my table. THANK YOU Tea and George!

My built-ins are gorgeous. Tea and George have so much pride in their workmanship that they were visibly frustrated when trying to deal with the many imperfections of my house (uneven walls, floors, and corners), out of concern that it might diminish their perfectly constructed unit. But they patiently and creatively worked through all of the issues and the final product is gorgeous. And when I decided to change the design mid-construction to add built-in lights, they were able to accommodate me. They then accommodated me again by modifying the shelves to make them glass framed in wood so that the light would shine through. The result is stunning. I had a different carpenter handle some built-ins in a different part of my house, but then I chose Tea and George for this project. The difference in experiences was night and day. Art Woodstone's workmanship was much higher quality; the devil is in the details, such as how visible seams are. They were also much easier to work with and more responsive. It was evident that they would not have considered the job complete until not only I was completely satisfied, but until they were completely satisfied with every detail.

All of my experiences working with Art Woodstone have been superb. Tea and Geroge are a fabulous team. They are communicative, informative, and, most importantly, the work they do is second-to-none. The craftsmanship is just amazing. The attention to detail in their pieces is wonderful. They listened to exactly what I wanted and followed through on my expectations perfectly. There were no surprises with the quality of furniture or the price. Delivery and installation was as smooth as can be,

after seeing their website, I contacted them for a quote regarding a built-in bookcase I wanted for my living room. They responded quickly and a meeting was soon arranged. Upon meeting Tea and George, it  was immediately clear they were knowledgeable about their craft and easy to work with. They provided appropriate and meaningful suggestions and options, as I wanted a dartboard included in the design. When they  installed the bookcase, it was EXACTLY what I wanted and looks as if the room was built around it, and not it built into the room.  I the price was fair, I felt no pressure and will use them again.

Art Woodstone Studio did a wonderful job and took great care of these chairs. They matched the re-finish to remaining pieces. The old chairs wiggled, and wobbled, and their veneer was cracked in places. Now, not anymore. The studio knew I had a time crunch and they worked to meet my needs. I would use them again in an instant!

I cannot say enough good things about Art Woodstone! They solved a tricky problem in my master bedroom with a custom built corner unit that is as functional as it is stunning. Key to this: they LISTEN. They make an attempt to really understand what their clients are trying to achieve (both in terms of aesthetics and function)  and they use creativity to obtain the desired results. I was offered several alternative designs and they worked with me to tweak one until it was really beyond expectations.  <br> <br>In my kitchen George had a vision for how I could replace my old fine-but-nobody-notices-it island top with a slab that would be an eye-catching design focal point. And again the finished look outstripped my expectations.  <br> <br>When it came to restoration Art Woodstone took equal pride in their work and completed my project in a timely and exemplary manner. <br> <br>I have received many compliments on the projects they completed for me, and feel that Art Woodstone helped me to elevate the design of my home. I will certainly use Art Woodstone Studios again as the need arises. They do high quality work with high-quality materials and they are professional in their business dealings. 

The result was amazing.  The work was done in 10-14 days, much faster, frankly than I had thought.  The piece was in such bad shape, I had low expectations, but I was confident that I would be able to at least use it.  Well, the work was amazing, if you didn't know where the breaks were, you really couldn't tell.  The bracing work was super strong and in places that you can't see.  The work was painstaking gluing and piecing together a jigsaw puzzle and I was really impressed.  It was not a cheap fix, but given the time it took to work on the piece and it's worth to me, it was a fair price.  I would definitely say George is an artist and master woodworker.  I would definitely use them for original work or buy their furniture.

Tea and George did a fabulous job. They had to plan it, do some fabrication off site, and complete the work at the condo. The finished project is beautiful and exceeded our expectations. Tea and George were on time, efficient, professional and did a super job of clean up afterward. Couldn't be more pleased.

The record cabinets made by Art Woodstone Studio are simple in their design, which was mine, but absolutely stunning in their workmanship. In fact, I originally intended to paint the cabinets to match the dark gray walls of my media room, but the finish is so finely wrought that I have instead decided to stain them in order to preserve their beauty. George Tkabladze, a talented sculptor, has applied his skills to making utilitarian art. I could not be any happier with the finished product, and doubt that anyone could have done a better job. Art Woodstone Studio is highly recommended.

This couple is the best! True artists and true professionals - and oh so nice and accommodating to work with! They are a pleasure who go out of their way to meet your budget and exceed your expectations. Really cannot say enough good things about them. They are great and do great work! <br />
