Manny came out and did a job of perfection on my bathtub and showerpan. I tried to fix it myself LOL and messed up the tub. Do not do it yourself. Save time and money by hiring these professionals to come out and make you tub look like new. Thanks Manny!!!!!

Went well; actually needed more work, ended up with new tile, bathtub & accesssories.

The owner and his two sons were able to refinish our bathtub the following day after I had contacted them. They communicated often and clearly. The job was done exactly as expected including replacing the drain. They also were very patient when the power went out during the job, waiting to see if it would go back on (and it did!) so the job could be completed on time.

Staff was very professional, in time and completed job in a timely manner. We would highly recommend AStar services.

Went very well. Responded to my solicitation quickly and was able to start quickly. Did a great job staining my pergola and deck. They were polite and professional and made sure I was satisfied before they left after the ~ 2-day job.

When I requested a quote on Angie's list, I had a response from Jesse in 20 minutes (on a SUNDAY). Once I scheduled the work, Manny and Christian showed up on time and walked me through the process. They resurfaced my tub from dull beige to sparkling white, cleaned up and were gone within 4 hours. They were efficient, nice and respectful. We were so impressed with the service, we have scheduled A Star to paint our kitchen and bath cabinets and install our kitchen backsplash later this month.

Mr. Thomas and his crew are very professional. The project had its inevitable bad surprises due to neglect of the issue by previous owner, and if it was not for Astar I would probably have been really upset. They hit the ground running, and replaced everything with an eye to my desire to keep the retro feel of the room. Truly fantastic company to work with. My second time hiring this hardworking family business, and I plan on hiring them again.

Everything went smoothly. Enjoyed Mannie's enthusiasm along w/his pictures of what can be done to bathrooms, floors, etc. Great job done.

They did an EXCELLENT job! I can't recommend enough. We are getting ready to put our house on the market and our old tub and kitchen looked horrible. I can honestly say both look brand new now. The owner was on top of everything and communicated effectively with me throughout the project. And he was extremely responsive. His employee, Manny, who did the job was outstanding. High attention to detail. You won't go wrong hiring these guys.

Jesse and his team did a fantastic job on our kitchen remodel! They were on time, on budget, and always friendly, responsive, courteous, and professional. We are very happy with the results and would definitely hire A Star again.

Jesse Thomas came in to complete the floor tile work after I was forced to fire my original general contractor. Jesse was respectful of my home, and he met all of his deliverables. Most importantly, he listened to me and kept me informed about every step of the project. Overall, working with him was an excellent experience. I would highly recommend ASTAR!

They did an excellent job, arrived on time, explained what was going to be done and did the work in a timely manner and cleaned up afterwards. Very pleased with the outcome.

On March 7, 2019, A Star Bath and Kitchen resurfaced 2 bath tubs in my home. 2 of them came out , Jesse Thomas, an older man and his son. They were both pleasant. After they finished the work, my 2 upstairs tubs looked great....as good as new! They said their warranty was 5 years on this work. They said there would be a strong odor for 2 days and to wait 48 hours before we used the tub/shower. We waited at least 96 hours just to be sure. After they left, I did notice an over spray of whatever product (acrylic?) they used on the drain cover but assumed it would wipe off so I wasn't concerned. After waiting 4 days, my daughter took several showers in that bathroom over the course of the next week or so. She took showers, no baths. On March 18th, my daughter took a bath. Some time after that about 10/10:30 p.m.) while I was downstairs watching TV in my downstairs family room (which is below the bathroom my daughter showered/bathed in), my ceiling started leaking drops of water. I put buckets under the leaks and went upstairs to determine the cause of the leaks, I didn't see a leak anywhere...no wet floors or anything. The drops of water continued to increase. I called the name of a restoration company (recommendation of my insurance company) who came out at about 2:30 a.m. on March 19th. They couldn't find a leak either. They set up 4 fan blowers and suggested I call a plumber which I did. I called 2. The earliest the plumbers could come out was March 20th. Upon initial inspection, the plumber could not find a leak anywhere and had to cut out a square of sheetrock (restoration company said plumber may have to do this to determine cause of leak) in my family room ceiling to try to determine source of the leak. When plumber was about to give up, he filled with water the upstairs bathtub (above where the ceiling was leaking), then went back downstairs and saw the leak. The problem was the overflow cover was "loose as a goose." They tightened the overflow cover screw(s), filled tub again with water and no more leaks. I asked plumber to check 2nd bath tub that was refinished/resurfaced and found the same problem....overflow cover was loose but not as loose as the other tub. Plumber tightened this cover screw also. Plumber said there is no doubt that the leak occurred because the overflow cover was not tightened when the tubs were refinished/resurfaced. The plumber checked my toilets, sinks, seals, and said no other work was needed and the leak was fixed. Plumber was unable to check or reseal tub drain strainer because of the coating (overspray by A Star Bath and Kitchen). Plumber said he was afraid if he forced removal of the drain/strainer, the tub refinishing that was done by A Star Bath and Kitchen would crack and undo all that refinishing/resurfacing work. I called A Star Bath and Kitchen while the plumber was still here and asked would he be willing to talk and explain to them what happened. Plumber said yes. I had to leave a message for A Star Bath and Kitchen and told them of the problem. Jesse Thomas with A Star Bath and Kitchen called me this morning (3/21/19) and said the leak was not a cause of their work and that it was a plumbing problem, a problem with my seals. I explained the plumber said this was not a plumbing problem but the result of the overflow cover/screw not being tightened from the resurfacing/refinishing work they completed. I explained the plumber did not do anything to my seals. He continued to say not their problem as in 35 years, they have not had this problem. I was astonished to hear him shirk responsibility when he assured me several times the work would be warranted for 5 years. I asked Mr. Thomas what he intended to do about the overspray on the drain cover which is extremely obvious and no doubt is a result of their work. At this point Mr. Thomas said, "sweetie, I have to go" and hung up. I called back and left voice message that I expected them to honor the "5 year warranty" and would write a review on Angie's list and pursue other avenues as necessary. After talking with Mr. Thomas, I called the plumber and asked was my leak related to maintenance or wearing out of any seals in the bathtub. Plumber said no and again confirmed no work was needed on the seals and they did no work on the seals as this was not the cause of the leak. Since the plumber repaired the leak, my daughter has taken 2 baths in the tub and my ceiling hasn't leaked. Now I need to pay someone to repair and repaint the sheetrock hole in my sealing which is the result of the faulty work by A Star Bath and Kitchen. For Angie's List customers who have used (or will use) A Star Bath and Kitchen and under a 5-year warranty, if this company won't honor their warranty with me less than 2 weeks after their work, what guarantee do you have they will honor your warranty? To: A Star Bath and Kitchen, if you have honored other customers warranty, what is the reason you will not honor mine? My initial excitement about your work has now turned into extreme disappointment in you and my decision to employ your services. Please don't do this to other customers. $750 is a lot of money to begin with. I now also have a $500 plumbing bill and a pending sheetrock repair and painting bill. Since you say you have "never" had a problem before, then mine will be the most expensive work you have ever done. So disappointed! 3-26-19 (addition) Response from A Star Bath and Kitchen contains inaccuracies. Mr. Thomas feels spending *less than 10* *minutes* with a dissatisfied customer regarding a quality issue is far too much time. If he didn’t have time to talk, rather than abruptly hanging up, a reputable and professional company would simply have re-scheduled for a more convenient time to talk. On the call, he actually talked “first” (I had already left a phone message sharing the problem). Immediately he said it wasn’t his fault and that I had a plumbing problem. In his response, he said he didn’t want to tighten the screws too much, that if old they would crack. The plumber tightened (as A Star Bath and Kitchen should have). They did not crack. Mr. Thomas said “we would been happy to take off the little bit of glaze.” What’s stopping you? It’s undisputed and covered under the warranty….and it’s not a little glaze. It covers *at least half* of the drain cover. It is when I asked about the warranty that you hung up and you have made no attempt to follow up with me. Your response pretty much confirms what I’ve detailed in my review.

Unbelievable transformation!. Looks like tub and tiles were freshly installed. I had a quote done to replace tiles by another company and it would have cost me 5 times for new tile work and this does not even include the tub. AStar charged me much much less for the refinishing of both tub and wall. Jesse and his son Chris were very professional all the way from qaulity of work, timeliness, explanation of job, cleanliness, protection of pro[erty, and communication. I definitely recommend their company and services.

VERY well!!!!! This was an extremely difficult painting job and required days and days of prep, multiple coats of paint, and then days of touch up. This company is AMAZING!!! Christian and Diego are the best! They worked long hard days and finished on time and on budget. Their attention to detail was just perfect! I would hire them again in an instant. Cannot recommend highly enough!!!!!!!

My experience with Astar was excellent. I would not hesitate to use them again. I am pleased with both the product and the workmanship. They were very responsive and started my job the day after I received the estimate. Work was completed on time and expectations were met. They took their time and paid attention to detail. Very fair pricing as well. I have 5 investment properties and this option can save you a lot of money in tile replacement/restoration.

This bathtub refinished exceeded expectations. Astar made the tub look better than new, and turned an ugly eyesore into an a quality tub. They took the time to sand the old iron tub, and they did a careful job of covering every surface in the bath so that no mess was made. They were prompt and careful, and I would highly recommend anyone with a problem tub use this service. No mess was made on the surrounding tile walls or floor, and the job was finished in a few hours. After it cured, the bath fixtures were reinstalled, and they even added a non skid finish. I am considering having them fix a vintage sink in another bathroom.

On April 16, 2018, I began a project with AStar Bath, and Kitchen, to refinish cabinets, sinks, and countertops in the master bathroom of my residence. The project was to begin on April 16, 2018, and be completed by April 18, 2018. The project ultimately finished on April 24, 2018 which took much longer than it should because they were working on other projects and could not devote enough resources to my project, in my opinion. The project started out well and they completed the sinks and countertops in the master bathroom to my satisfaction, and the end product was what they had promised and I was pleased. However, when you began to refinish the cabinets, they damaged the work they did on the countertops, and they looked horrible. I informed them of the damage to the countertops and they informed me that they would address it. They never were able to address the issue and the countertops were left unfixed. As for the cabinets, they tried several times to come up with an outcome that was acceptable. Once we agreed on an outcome, they began the process of refinishing all the cabinets. They completed one cabinet and informed me that all the cabinets would be like this one and I agreed that was acceptable. After they had completed refinishing the cabinets I noticed that most of the cabinets were streaky, and the refinish was inconsistent. Once the cabinets dried, they had streaks and had discoloration and was not what you had promised. I ultimately only provided a partial payment because the job was not done to a reasonable satisfaction. I would not recommend using this vendor.

Great work and professionalism. Initially, I looked into getting new countertops. My countertops look brand new! I saved a ton of money.

Astar did an awesome job! We originally called them to have our flaking bathtub refinished, they advised us that the tile should be refinished as well and the price of $500 to do the whole thing was great. When they finished we explained that we were looking for professionals to repair and repaint or deck, and replace our fence as well. They split the jobs into two separate jobs and gave us a great price on each. We now have a wonderful new fence, a nice deck and a working bathtub.

I was expecting more to be done

A Star company owner, Mr. Jesse T. Thomas, arrived on time. He was very polite and personable. Took him to our shower enclosure in Master Bathroom. Jesse explained how repair would be done, and how long it would take. Jesse's grout expert, Manny, arrived shortly thereafter. Manny re-grouted the shower and the result was fantastic. The shower looks better now than it did when it was first installed 4 years ago. Here is the most incredible surprise. After Manny finished the shower re-grouting, he took a close look at the Roman bath tub (which is next to but separate from the shower enclosure). He decided that the tub needed re-grouting as well. With my permission, he re-grouted the tub. I expected to be charged for this extra work, but there was no additional fee. I'm 73 years old, and I have NEVER had a contractor do anything for me for free. In summary, A Star Bath & Kitchen far exceeded my expectations, did excellent work, left the master bath area sparkling clean, and will be remodeling my guest bathroom for me.
