Overall the painting looked as though a novice did it. There was paint on the floorboards and door trimming. What's worst, is there was paint on my furniture, which the painter advised I was okay with leaving in the room. Not satisfied. <br />

It was a little difficult to communicate with the provider. They were initially delayed by other work, but eventually completed the job. They picked out the area to replace, but did not paint the area repaired. They did not contact us upon job completion to verify the work or the quality before they left. I would not recommend them to others. <br />

"The only truth here is we replaced the flashing. Normally if any of my non big deal customers have an issue with our performance they contact me first. In all the years I have been working for myself I have never had this issue with anyone I made a horrible mistake running the big deals. In the future if you have an issue with your contractor contact the contractor not trash him on a site like this. It makes both of us look bad. it's kind of funny because I have some customers from Angie's List and they have read these reviews and ask themselves what are these people grading."

We had a lot of trouble with communication but once they showed, they did a good job. I left work early to make it home in time for an appointment and he never showed. He didn't call to let me know he wasn't coming, he just didn't show. I called him, left him a message, and texted him. Never got an apology or an explanation, just a reschedule time. We considered doing more work with them but we don't have time to deal with the poor communication.

He was great about calling and communicating when he would be here, etc. He opened the windows successfully, though there was some damage to some of the wood around one of the windows (admittedly, it was really hard to open) and he broke a flower pot (not the end of the world, but he didn't tell us about it). <br />

Jeff was exactly on time. He went straight to work and was extremely polite and personable. I cannot understand how he was rated B, when all the work performed was excellent. Angie's List should revise his rating to an A. I would definitely hire him in the future. <br />

It was handyman work so it was a mix bag of thing I had the guy do. He is fine and he did more time than I bought and he did not charge me for it. It was a one man service. He does painting and I told him I have a small job so he can call me back. I would have him again to do things. He was here when he said he would be and he was pretty professional.

Jeff is the most dishonest, unresponsive, unprofessional contractor that I have had the misfortune to hire since moving to the Lowcountry in 2012. I actually felt bad for him and tried to help him out with direction and professional guidance, that was a waste of time. He lied about being sick after he started and returned a week later to work some more, then told me that he was so busy with work during the time that he claimed to be home sick- liar! Jeff asked for money while mid-way through my project and seemed so pitiful that I gave in and paid him cash. Luckily I made him sign a receipt, so if I have the time for it- I can take him to court for failure to complete his contract. Later when I demanded him to come and complete the work, since I had paid for more than what he completed, he asked for more money! I told him that if he completed all of the work that I had originally requested, I would pay the balance, but he still owed me to complete the current work. He stated that his worker quit and that he could not come to complete the project. When I asked for his helpers phone number, Jeff stated that he would send him over if I could pay him cash? How could he direct him to paint for me if he quit working for Jeff? His worker complained about Jeff using the cheapest materials and supplies and that he was always getting paid late. <br /> I offered to buy all of the proper supplies so I could get a better result, but they never returned to complete the projects. Luckily I was able to re-hire Simmon's Construction to complete the messed up job that Jeff failed to complete. Jeff Frenkel should be banned from Angie's List and I will most certainly be filing a complaint with the BBB when I get the time to do so. I have pictures of all of the paint deficiencies and mess that was left on my property if you want proof of his efforts- or lack there of.

"In all honesty, that was the only thing I could do to fix the vents in a timely manner. The job was completed and I worked more than the coupon (Big Deal) hours and did not charge you for the additional time."

"Maam, I gave you a price for fixing the ceiling in the garage and you said you would not like to pay that much to fix it and you and your husband asked me to put some screws in the ceiling so that the remaining drywall did not fall on you and your cars. I told you this was not the proper way to handle it but you said you couldn't afford the cost to properly fix the ceiling. I did make a mistake on the door handle and tried to reschedule to install the lock but could not get in touch with you or your husband and for the record I used an exterior patching compound not a cement."

I bought one of the 3 hours for $99 deals. That was not enough time to do a small patch in wall. I needed to purchase more time in order to get another coat. I fell this deal is offered to get a person in and charge more. I would prefer to have a job done in 3 hours than determine if I would like to have the contractor come back.

"Hi, I am unsure as to what the complaint is. I used a fan and told you before I started that it would take multiple coats and I mentioned my hourly rate. Your reply was to do as much as I could within 3 hours time. I was very honest with you and told you that joint compound takes a lot of time to dry. I have asked Angie's List to specify for anyone buying a Big Deal to know that joint compound takes hours and sometimes overnight to dry and to not offer drywall repair for a Big Deal."

<p>This service was the worst one yet,. Asked Jeff to install a simple light fixture in the hallway, he started to twist on the light fixture as to pull it down from the wall and said I cant do it, the bulb is glued to the wall.(never heard of such).Then we went upstairs after he couldn't do the very first thing I asked of him, I wanted him to remove a light fixture from one fan and put on another hanging fan. Jeff climbed onto the top of my bed with his shoes(dirty and wet) still on. I asked him where is his ladder and he replied it wasn't tall enough to reached. Jeff then went into another bedroom to install a fan(after not able to hang to complete the second project) and again was not able to do that project as well. He left the fan half way hanging in the bedroom as it is now. half of my electrical on that side of the hall is not working due to him trying to hang a fan. So my husband simplified his work and asked him to hang pictures. When I return home yesterday, I wanted to scream out with rage. the pictures are hanging one sided. I will post pictures of his work later today. Jeff spend most of his time in his van. </p> this company did do a paint job for me in the past but it was not Jeff that did it but his worker Wilbur. He should have bought Wilbur with him to do the handyman service and I would have probably got my money worth. So for three hours I got 3 pictures hung and a light picture added to a ceiling fan and a blind hung (after trying 3 times to hang the same blinds). The rest of the time was Jeff going to his van stalling time as I watched him from my window. Jeff is not the handyman you would want to hired. TRUST ME.I plan to contact the company to filed a more formal complaint with AS YOU LIKE IT PAINTING. <br />

The day ended up being maybe 4 hours. They didn't finish the work and we had to call another company to complete the work. We learned a lesson from this - check to see how many hours is their work day.

Jeff arrived at our scheduled time and introduced Wilbur(painter) and asked what all needs to be done. Wilbur was very fast and most of all neatly. He did a wonderful job painting the room. Jeff and I have been trying to schedule this job for the past month. I had water damaged to the house and cancel several times. Jeff was very understanding and told me that whenever I was ready, he would come out. My concern was the expiration of the coupon. Jeff assure me that he would honor it at any time I was ready to use it. Jeff and Wilbur was very friendly and a pleasure to have in my home.IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT,THANK YOU JEFF AND WILBUR FOR A WONDERFUL JOB. I would highly recommend your company to my friends and family or anyone who is looking for a painter.
