After my husband and I took the day off work to be there, AVD Plumbing showed up with no tools, did no inspection of the problem, said they didn't have enough time to do the repairs, they'd have to come back another time, then charged us a $100 service fee for coming out. When they were called about coming back to actually do the work, they said they don't do that type of work. We had to file a fraud claim with our bank to reverse the charge.

It was very good.

It was fine. It was normal.

I didn't have any problems with them.

So they replaced our kitchen faucet.

They did an excellent job. They were on time and I've had no problems since.

The deal that I purchased through Angie's List cost $59.00 for a plumbing service call to include one hour of labor.  Augie stated that my leaky kitchen sink faucet could not be repaired, and said that he would go out to buy a replacement faucet to install, but that he would not charge me for the time that he was gone (about one-half hour).  I mentioned that there is a Home Depot a mile from the house, but he responded that he would prefer to purchase it at a plumbing supply store because they carry "better quality fixtures".   The bottom line is that he charged me another $200.00 to cover the cost of the replacement faucet and additional labor, and said that represented a "savings" to me because the new faucet (a very ordinary one) alone cost "$200.00 " (an item for which he provided no receipt).   In my later trips to Home Depot, Menard's, and Lowe's I saw exactly the same routinely-stocked Delta faucet selling for $64.00, making my new faucet no bargain, whether he got it out of his truck (likely), from a plumbing supply store (doubtful), or Home Depot. <br />

Contractor has  late, gave several different times he would arrive-  .  Was unprepared and unprofessional <br /> <br />

Arrived on time and did the job in under an hour.  My husband hates plumbing work so getting this done at a reasonable price was great.  Only problem was I had to make contact with this service.  Did not call me within the time frame stated when I purchased this big deal. <br />

Scheduling was fine. There was one plumber here doing the work.

I will not use this service provider again.

Plumber arrived on time, listened to symptoms, and then made a brief inspection of existing plumbing. Next, plumber explained five (5)  possible options (and their costs) to remedy less-than-optimal situations. He was very agreeable, willing to explain procedures, and answer questions. We decided on some immediate repairs and mechanical replacements. We've delayed other work (including complete rodding) until building's catch basin is emptied.  Plumber was careful, clean (covered shoes), thoughtful, and informative. <br />

They did wonderful work.  They were fantastic. They were professional, they were fast, and they did great work. The interaction with them was very good. They were pretty quick, and the price was fair.

They were very busy and hard to reach at first.  But understanding that the coupon can swamp you, I didn't need immediate service, so I waited a bit and when they did come out, they were on time and fixed the problem.  Charged just $5 for the piece and took care of two issues.  Thank you.

Then the installation failed completely. Very fortunately, I was nearby at the time and immediately heard the loud sound of water from the cold-water pipe blasting against the furnace and nearby duct work. The furnace room was engulfed in deflected spray going in all directions. I shut off the main water valve for the house and was able to prevent any serious long-term damage. I am usually not near the furnace room, so it was dumb luck that the problem did not go undetected for many hours and cause serious damage (not to mention an inflated water bill).||I arranged with another plumber (highly rated on Angie's List) to fix the problem. He said that the AVD plumber had used a ball valve whose fittings were not sized to fit the tubing going to the humidifier and had attempted to use a t-fitting as an adapter by closing off one end of the "t." Our problem was caused by the failure of that closed-off end. The new plumber fixed the problem by installing a ball-valve with properly sized fittings, which he had on his truck.||During service calls for us, the AVD plumber has always made a trip to purchase needed supplies after assessing the work we wanted done. He seems to carry little inventory on his truck. I do not know why he could not purchase a ball valve with fittings properly sized for our needs.
