AZ Painting

AZ painting it was fabulous, the owner was professional the team they work is great they did a great job they did a really good job and I was very happy with AZ painting.

Alan Zuberbuehler of AZ Painting has been my go-to painter for 33 years. Most recently, in May 2021, he and his crew painted nearly the entire interior of our home. I have never worked with a better contractor of any type. For starters, AZ Painting far exceeded the basic requirement of doing a really good paint job. In fact, it was flawless. More important, Alan is a really nice guy. Doing quality work is not easy, but many people can pull it off. Alan is one of a very few who also make you proud to know him and happy to have had him do work in your home. This is exemplified by the fact that one of the two people on his crew has worked with him for more than 20 years, and that the other has been with him for nearly as long. You don't generate that kind of loyalty without being a pretty good boss. We contacted Alan in late April to ask if he could give us a quote for painting the interior of our home in anticipation of listing it for sale. He responded in a timely manner, and came to our home on a Sunday to look at the scope of the work. Knowing that we wanted to get the work done as quickly as possible, Alan provided us a price quote, and had already contacted some of his other committed clients and gotten their permission to delay their jobs so that he could accommodate us. AZ Painting was at work in our home the next day. They arrived when they said they would. They worked efficiently and professionally. They were happy, friendly, and polite. They were considerate of our feelings about masking up when we were at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. More than once, a member of the crew stayed late in order to finish a particular part of the job so they could work more efficiently the following day. They used high quality paint. They took pains to protect our floors from damage. When they left at the end of each day, our home was completely usable but for the very small area set aside for their paint and gear. Alan usually stayed later than the others in order to organize materials and to plan the sequence of work for the next day. For this level of service and quality of work you could easily expect to pay a premium price. Not so. The cost of the work was perfectly reasonable. More important, the cost of the work was exactly what Alan had quoted us.

Al and his crew arrived early in the morning and on time. They painted our three bedroom apartment (minus one bedroom). They did the walls except for the moldings, doors and ceilings. They worked quickly and did a thorough and neat job. They cleaned up after themselves. We supplied most of the paint and Al added some from his supply. They did an excellent job and I would hire them again.

ALL WENT GREAT. MY CASTLE IS BEAUTIFUL AGAIN. WHEN AL WOULD COME, HE HAD OTHER PROJECTS TOO, WE WOULD TALK ABOUT IF I LIKED HOW THINGS WERE GOING. AL LISTENED TO ME AND CARED ABOUT WHAT I THOUGHT. WAYNE IS A CONSCIENTIOUS PAINTER AND I AM PLEASED WITH AZ PAINTING. AS HIS NAME CARD SAYS, "PAINT YOUR HOME THE PROFESSIONAL WAY" IT IS TRUE. IT'S NICE TO KNOW HE IS SOMEONE YOU CAN TRUST WITH SOMETHING SO SPECIAL AS YOUR CASTLE.

Al communicated regularly before and during the job. His crew was respectful of the property and the tenants. They worked fast. They also noted areas that needed further work because of rotting and were able to take care of that. I would recommend AZ Painting and will use them again.

They were fantastic. I would give them A's on everything. We actually did use them again. They were professional, they were timely, all of those things. It took 8 hours to complete the job. The protected the home very well. They did everything they needed to do.

AZ painting did a good job with interior painting, although we felt as though the attention to detail and some of the assurances that plaster cracking and blemishes would be repaired were slightly lacking. I found it odd an unnecessary that the owner was very insistent that they receive final payment the day after finishing without first providing an invoice. We didn't even know the final amount before we were pestered for payment. We were e-mailed an invoice on Sunday and received emails/texts for the next two days demanding payment. They were paid on Tuesday. Just unnecessary - give somebody 5-7 days to settle up.

Everything turned out great and took only one day to complete . I was vey pleased! Looking forward to working with Al again soon.

Al & his crew were very professional. They showed up when they promised (and when they had to delay a day, he let me know). Work was well done & completed quickly. Highly recommended !

Al and his team did an excellent job, in a challenging location.

Great. The crew was able to start the project earlier than planned (at my request) and finished sooner than estimated because of the weather. The crew cleaned the site daily. It is rare to find the combination of good quality work done on-time at a reasonable cost.

Previous homeowner did poor job on overhead garage door painting ... as a result, the paint had been peeling / flaking off. I needed this work done on short notice and AZ found a way to accommodate us; they fit it into their full schedule. While on the premises, they did some additional touch-up at no extra charge. If AZ Painting ever changes their name, it should be to "A+ Painting"!

Though we had a little trouble getting the day pinned day due to his timing on other jobs, he was able to get in by my deadline and the job ended up easier than expected.  As a result, he charged me less than the original quote and was able to paint another section of a wall that I had planned to do myself.  Essentially I got more and paid less.  Thorough their work and clean up.

Among all the painters I called AL was the quickest to get me an estimate. Some painters just didn't call back or didn't follow up with an estimate. Probably a weather thing and it was a small job. Al was quick to give me an estimate and very quick to start work. One of Al's long time employees, Tim showed up on Monday right on time and got right to work. He worked very quickly and neatly. I was amazed at how much he could squeeze from a gallon of paint. the job was done in two days. I was very impressed.

From the initial call, he actually answered the phone. Next day, gave a quote and painted a day later. If in the Tosa area, we recommend AL and his team. Thank you!

Everything went smoothly and like a Swiss clock. High quality job done by professionals!

Al and his team were very responsive and extremely professional. We had to hire them after another painter let the ball drop. They were able to pick it up and finish the service in record time and with great quality just before the holiday season. <br />

<p>After meeting with a few painters via Angie's List, I found that Al Z wasn't the cheapest, nor was he the most expensive. What won me over was that he was responsive and gave me a sense that he really understood my needs and took the time to get it right. Due to my own work, which physically required me to relocate half way across the country, I needed assurance that the work performed in my absence would meet my exacting criteria. In my case, my wife would be on site to oversee the project and report back to me. </p> <p><br /></p> <p>Sad to say that even in this century, there are some contractors who treat women dismissively. As a husband, it was imperative to me that the painter selected fully understand that, in my absence, my wife should be treated with the same respect and professionalism that I'd expect if I was present.  To my delight, Al & his painters accomplished this in spades. There were dozens of things that 'could' have gone wrong, yet only a couple of normal, minor issues occurred along the way. When they did, Al was quick to remedy them without complaint. Hence, by awarding an "A" for price, I'm giving this highest mark for the true "value" delivered by Al & his team ... not just for "price" alone.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>They came on time, cleaned up afterwards, collaborated effectively to align schedules with my wife in my absence, and did BEAUTIFUL work. All in all, this was an Angie's List success story!  </p> <br />
