"Dear Mr. [Consumer Name Removed], I?m sorry to hear you?re upset. We completed the job with professionalism, and the invoice, including sales tax, was sent and agreed upon beforehand. Although you requested to pay by credit card, we don?t accept them, and you made a cash deposit via Zelle as agreed. There was never any mention of a sales tax exemption, which remains due. When we examined your floor, we found that the loose tiles were causing the grout issues, and there was also a structural crack in the thinset. To fix that would require a major overhaul, but you preferred a simpler repair, which we did at the original price. The floor was not professionally installed before, and the unevenness was due to poor workmanship. Finally, the squeak you?re hearing is likely from the wooden substrate, not the tiles themselves. The tiles are flush and well-aligned. You requested to pay the final payment a week after completion of repair and made excuses to hold payment when payment was due. It seems the payment delay was only resolved after we discussed legal action."
