Roof removal and installation and gutter work went well, however collateral damage to chimney cap occurred. Contractor refuses to accept responsibility or partial responsibility for damage, even though photographs taken during installation demonstrate crew used chimney cap for equipment, and later acknowledged crack in chimney cap. As it is made of concrete, if it would fall, it could damage the newly installed shingles as well as hit a passerby causing an injury. Contractor refuses to return phone calls, answer emails, or respond to mailed letter (sent twice, once as certified). I am frustrated by contractor's lack of willingness to discuss and resolve this issue, which is the main reason for these low grades. The customer is not satisfied with the outcome. Here are the specifics: Owner Tim Crawley supervised a crew of roofers, who completed the job according to specifications within 3 days. Shortly thereafter, there was a snowfall that covered the work, and I asked Tim to return with a ladder after the snow melted to allow me to take close up photos for the WHS documentation. An earlier photograph showed a deformity to the concrete chimney cap that had not been evident before the job began, and this was brought to his attention. He said he would bring it to the roofing crew's attention, and they said that they had noticed a crack that may have worsened in the preceding week's weather, and may have blown off. Several days later, I did indeed find a heavy corner piece of concrete chimney cap in the neighbor's yard. Presumably it indeed had broken off, and had fallen from the chimney and rolled to the north side of the house where I had found it. Mr. Crawley said that he could have it replaced for about $600-1000. I also inquired why the roofing crew did not notify him or me of the cracked chimney cap, especially since this might damage the newly installed roof or potentially hit a passerby if it would be dislodged. Unfortunately, this was not answered, and further requests to address these issues were not answered in spite of repeated followup letters, e-mails or phone calls. The overall project was completed, yet collateral damage occurred and was not addressed. Since the roofing crew observed the cracked chimney cap, and there is photographic evidence of the crew resting equipment on the chimney, I maintain that they had an obligation to notify both Mr. Crawley and myself of the potential for a problem, and inquire how I would like to correct the problem, so as to protect their otherwise excellent work. Such failure suggests liability. My suggested resolution is for sometime this winter or early spring that Mr. Crawley inspect and certify that no damage occurred to the roof or gutter from this falling debris. I am prepared to submit to binding arbitration with regards to the chimney repair, according to the WHS standards. If this fails, than I am prepared to escalate the matter.

I was disappointed they really like doing big jobs and I had just a small gutter repair and the gentleman said well let me just take a look at really quick and he did some cocking with commercial grade cock and it made no difference. the just cocked a gutter thinking it would repair a leak.

I received notice from the city that work needed to be done on the gutters on the house. Tim worked with the deadline the city imposed and fit me into his busy schedule. The work was done in one day, and he was very responsive, friendly and professional throughout the whole process and in answering any questions I had. Price was very competitive and he was very easy to work with, I would recommend Badger without question.
Tim Crawley, Badger's Owner, said that our house did not have enough down spouts - we have thought the same thing. Badger was a sub to another company and the price had already been agreed upon, so the 2 additional down spouts that he installed did not cost us any more. Tim Crawley did excellent work all by himself and was very personable. We sensed that he is very trust-worthy.
When I called, Tim was leaving for vacation so I told him no rush on coming out. He followed up when he was back from vacation, setup a time to come out and look at the issue. Tim called me and was very honest and upfront with the repair. He told me he wasn't sure how long it would take to repair until he removed the old gutter to see if there was any water damage (rotting, etc). I took his advice and setup a date/time for him to repair it. He fixed it completely and to my surprise it didn't take him that long and didn't cost what we expected. He met my husband at the house when the repair was completed and explained to him what he did. I would use him again. Very honest, reliable company which is hard to find now a days. I am actually refering him to a neighbor for work on his rental property. I also believe Tim business isn't very close to Greendale so he made the trip out for our business. Thanks Tim!
Tim came out promptly and completed the work. Unfortunately, the gutters were still leaking onto my sidewalk and back porch. They did not leak as bad, but they still leaked. He said that he would be out to take a look at the work. I ended up calling him a handful of times and there was never any follow up. I am concerned about the winter season this year.

I had called another Angie's list provider and received an estimate for the same work earlier. Tim Crawley provided competitive estimates for the work he performed and for the replacement of the aluminum fascia. I requested the estimate for replacing the fascia to get a color match between the new white gutters and the old repainted white aluminum fascia. (The request was based on the recommendation by a competitor.) Tim pointed out that weather and aging would bring about the color match within a few years and therefore I could save money by not replacing the fascia. Therefore, even though Tim's estimate was a little higher than his competitor, I decided against the fascia replacement and chose him for the job.
Tim and his partner arrived about three weeks after I accepted his proposal (but within the time-frame that he had proposed). We were not present during much of the time that they did their work. They completed the job in less than a day. They cleaned up after themselves and disposed of the old material. The gutters have been in place for nearly a month at the time of this review. Everything works fine and the gutters look great.

Our home, a classic Milwaukee bungalow constructed in 1921, had a Yankee gutter system. At some point in time(s) - for reinforcement, support and preservation - galvanized steel was overlaid around the original system and a bituminous lining was bonded to the interior of the gutters. Years, the tremendous weight of these multiple layers and relatively shallow gutters combined for an incorrectly pitched system and lots of rainwater cascading to the foundation instead of into the downspouts. With putting in a new Yankee system deemed cost prohibitive, we needed to either repair the existing system or replace it with aluminum gutters and downspouts. Desiring to keep the exterior character of the bungalow, we were reluctant to tear down the Yankee gutters and replace them with aluminum.
Tim Crawley, Owner of Badger Gutters, met with us on site, thoroughly inspected our entire gutter system, listened to our concerns and answered our questions. He was professional, knowledgeable and unassuming. Tim explained why repairing (essentially re-pitching and re-lining) the existing Yankee gutter system was a short-term solution at best and quite possibly would not alleviate the overflow issues. Addressing our aesthetic concerns, he described how, via components and quality construction, he could, as with a Yankee system, make aluminum gutters blend with the house. We entrusted Tim and moved forward with this approach.
Badger Gutters, represented by Tim Crawley and his assistant(s), began the project on time and stuck with it (4-5 days) through completion. They were respectful of the neighborhood and cleaned the job site at the end of each day. Along the way, they encountered many surprises, certainly taking them above and beyond the original scope of the project. Instead of skirting or "band-aiding" these surprises, Tim and his crew tackled and resolved them and, at project completion, added only a small charge ($150) to the original quote. The new gutter system looks great and performs as intended. In short, Badger Gutters does things the right way and Tim Crawley is a man of his word.

We had problems with our gutters because they were improperly pitched and generally unusable. Now that Tim and his assistant replaced them everything works perfectly and they are also very aesthetically pleasing. We also had gutter guards installed which work very well. Bottom line, Tim was excellent to work with --- great attention to detail and overall impeccable service from the first phone call to the final installation. We would not only use Badger Gutters again but would highly recommend this company.

I called Badger Gutters along with several other companies on Angies list for quotes. Badger Gutters had the best price of any of the companies and was able to do the job the next week. I was happy within the job they did and would definitely work with them again.

I called Badger Gutters on 10/26. Tim Crawley returned my call on 10/27. I explained what I needed. Tim told me that he would repair the gutters for $100. I agreed to the price. He was here within an hour and completed the repair within another hour. His business is located approximately 1 mile from my home. Tim did an excellent job of adjusting the pitch of the gutters and sealing them. I am very satisfied with his service and I am glad that he will do small repair jobs.

Prior to signing contract, I had estimates from several other contractors, which ranged up to about $70 more than the final price.

Excellent. Tim from Badger Gutters arrived and completed job in a few hours. He agreed with my preference to have downspout installed in a slightly different location than what he had suggested. Great contractor!

Tim was the only person, who provided me with an estimate, who took the time to do a thorough inspection of the condition of my existing gutters and downspouts. The estimated he provided was competive. He and his team were very professional and neat. The work is top-notch and I am very pleased with the results.

I would call them again. He came out to give me an estimate and then actually cleaned out my downspout pipes then and there before he even knew he would get the job. I thought that was a good thing. Price was a little bit more than I thought it should be. I thought it was a little bit high. But then again I didn't have knowledge for those kind of pricing, so I didn't know. In terms of quality, they did pretty good job. He was very responsive.

I called Badger Gutters and talked to Tim Crawley, the owner. The old gutters were leaking and had pulled away from the roof. Tim came out a few days later to look at the old gutters. He got upon a ladder and looked at the old gutters, even got on the roof for a closer look. He explained what he thought would have to be done. He said that we would need new flashing on one side and that he would tune up the flashing on the other 2 sides. By tuneup, Tim explained that he would nail up the fascia and do minor repairs. He also explained that he couldn't tell what condition the fascia was in until he removed the old gutters, and that could increase the cost. I got some estimates for the gutter replacement, and decided to go with Badger Gutters. I gave Tim the go ahead, and about 1 1/2 weeks later he came to replace the gutters. Tim and a helper did the job in about 6 hours. He removed the old gutters and installed the new ones. They hauled away the old gutters and did an excellent job of cleanup. Our house is over 100 years old and Tim understood what might be involved. I would highly recommend Badger Gutters if you need gutters replaced.

Tim returned my call promptly the following morning and arrived for the estimate within the hour. He immediately put up his ladder to get a closer look at the problems. He noted that major work would need to be done on the north side. When inspecting the south side of the house, Tim put in several screws to brace the badly sagging gutters so that no additional damage would be done before I could get it fixed. I showed Tim an existing downspout that drained directly into a plastic pipe in the ground. The plastic pipe was improperly draining and water was getting into the basement. Tim immediately put his bare hand into the plastic pipe to remove as much debris as he could to get a better look at the plastic pipe. After clearing much of the debris out, he advised repositioning the downspout and disconnecting it from this clogged pipe to prevent future issues. After taking measurements, answering all my questions and suggesting multiple options, Tim began writing an estimate on the spot. He wrote two estimates - one to repair only the north side and one to replace the gutter around the entire house. After getting several more estimates, I found that Tim not only offered the best price, but also had done a far more thorough inspection than every other guy that came out. No one else got on a ladder during an estimate. The morning the work was scheduled Tim showed up early to help with the gutter delivery. He was more than willing to discuss different options for placement of the new downspout and took extra time to explain what work would be done that day. After agreeing on the terms and price written out in the estimate, Tim and his partner got to work. Throughout the day, Tim was happy to explain what was going on whenever I came out to check on progress. Not only did Tim replace the gutters, he braced two accent beams that he noticed were sagging beneath the soffit. In addition, he repaired much of the soffit planks along the way, adding many screws to loose or bent planks. After all the work was finished, he did a thorough job cleaning around the house, sweeping and leaving the area looking better than before he got there. Tim went above and beyond the job that he was hired to do. The work he did was comprehensive, solid, fast and economical. I will gladly and readily recommend Badger Gutter to anyone who needs work done.

He had to mold some old siding because it was too expensive to order new siding. He did the work quickly even though it took a little bit to order a part. It looks very, very clean, professional and neatly done. I am satisfied with the work.
