B A Klaene and Son Masonry LLC

BA Klaene and Son went above and beyond to ensure that the foundation repair on our older home (100+ years old) was done in a thorough and professional manner. The job ended up being a little more complex than anticipated and they did more work than originally contracted for to ensure the longevity of the repair. They did not charge additional for the extra work and time and were the ultimate professionals during the entire process.

Jeremy was great to work with from start to finish. During the initial inspection/estimate, he was upfront and stated their expected start date would be a couple of months out. He was thorough in advising the various aspects of what I was interested in having done and talking through my options. We were in contact 3-4 weeks out from the expected time frame and he followed up the week of the work to confirm the days his crew would be working. The work was excellent and when I had a concern about one item, his crew came back out to make sure I was satisfied with the final product. I would highly recommend BA Klaene & Son for your masonry work.

I am not big on reviews because its a bother to me. That being said I had to write a little about Jeremy Klaene. We needed our chimney repaired and got 5 estimates from various contractors. Klaene was right in the middle. The price was fair and the work was excellent. They do business the old fashioned way. My only complaint was it took awhile to get back and do the work because they were so busy. It was worth the wait. When finished they cleaned up and left without even asking for payment. I called Jeremy and asked about paying for the work, and he said " No problem, I will send you a bill ". Who does that anymore? Apparently B.A. Klaene does. Trust is a big factor for me and I would trust this company to do any concrete work I needed.

I had gotten three quotes and three appointment dates. Not only was Klaene the cheapest, Jeremy knew I was in a bit of a hurry to get this done and squeezed me into his schedule. Very professional, very accommodating! Will definitely use again.

It went great. They were slow to start but this was not their fault but lots of rain prevented them from beginning the project. We have a very tricky roof, very slanted and lots of peaks. They were able to SAFETLY build scaffolding and continue on with the project. Without asking them they fixed a couple of broken limestone on my pool. They were great!

I'd definitely use them again, and recommend them to others (I did, in fact, and they did work on a neighbor's house recently). They were professional, cleaned up every evening, and worked hard to get a big job done quickly.

It went very well.  Our roof is quite steep and presents a challenge to anyone doing work on it.  The crew arrived on time, erected scaffolding and built a work platform around the chimney.  After removing the old crown, they discovered that the condition of the first two courses of brick were worse than expected.  So, in addition to removing cracked mortar joints, tuck pointing and replacing the crown, they also had to relay those 2 courses.  They still completed the job in just 3 days and on budget.  The crew leader was very knowledgeable and did a great job of keeping us informed of what additional problems they were uncovering as they worked.  They seemed very skilled at both the repair work and were very safety conscious.  It was one of the owners, Jeremy, who had come out to estimate the job.  He was excellent to work with and he visited the site regularly to make sure things were progressing satisfactorily.  Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely use them again should we need such work in the future.

I purchased an Angie's  List big deal for a chimney cap. Unfortunately the size  and shape of the flues did not allow it. They were able to remedy situation for an additional cost. <br />

they did a great job. i would absolutely call them again if I have any masonry needs. they had good communication, did high quality work, were reasonably priced compared to other estimates that i received from other contractors. they also found and suggested a few other things that i had not noticed that were absolutely needed. finally, i added to the scope of work at the last minute and they handled it with no issues. overall, i suggest them highly and have already recommended them to others. <br />

We decided to remove a set of old concrete steps leading to a back patio.  Once that job was finished by another contractor, we found to our surprise that there was a good size hole in the brick veneer behind where the steps used to be.  Not only did we need the hole plugged but we needed to match the bricks in our 40 year old home. <br /> After interviewing several brick contractors, we settled on BA Klaene and Son.  Jeremy Klaene provided us with a reasonable quote and was able to secure an almost exact match to our existing bricks.  In addition, he is an excellent communicator and kept us in the loop during the entire process.  Once a date was scheduled for the repairs, his crews showed up on time and provided a very skilled and professional repair to our wall.  It's almost impossible to tell where the repair was made.  We are very pleased with everything the Klaene crew provided and will recommend them without equivocation. <br />

I am very happy with Klaene and Son. They were very professional and showed up at appointed times. I got 3 estimates for this work and they were the only company I felt was reasonably priced. And they did a terrific job. My Dad is a retired bricklayer but no longer physically able to do this type of work. He is also a perfectionist and the work Klaene and Son Masonry did got his seal of approval, which is high praise indeed. I am also having a water issue in which a roofer told me the likely problem was the brick on the side of my house. While working on the job I contracted them for, Klaene's men took a look at the second issue and determined it was not the brick but a clogged underground drain. They went above and beyond and saved me considerable time and headache. Plus, they could have easily told me that in addition to fixing the drain I should tuckpoint a few joints and water seal the brick just to be safe. Instead, Jeremy Klaene was honest with me telling me he didn't think it was necessary. I would not hesitate to contract with this company again for any masonry work I needed and would highly recommend them to anyone. <br />

Jeremy Klaene came out to evaluate our issues with missing brick morter and brick window sill issues and provided estimate of work.  Due to lateness of our request in fall 2013, Mr. Klaene wasn't able to do the job until Spring 2014-after the weather improved. <br /> In April 2014 his staff professionally did the following: <br /> removed rush from deteriorated steel lintel bearing points.  Cleaned and applied two coats of rust retardant primer. Cut out cracks in masonry caused from rust expansion and re-tuckpointed. <br /> Cut out brick sills mortar joints and re-tuckedpointed. <br /> Removed three loose concrete foundation corners.  Cleaned area and install primed steel pins.  Refinished corner in multiple stages, with masonry and bonding agent.  <br /> Removed front entrance step bricks, hand cleaned same bricks and re-installed step bricks. <br /> Applied grey thoroseal to existing chimney crown. <br />

Very professional company.  Job was completed to my satisfaction but a couple of months later after I had paid the bill in full I noticed some cracking in the fire box joints.  No questions were asked.  They came out and repaired it immediately. <br />

This company did an outstanding job.  They were very professional and their workmanship was excellent.  I would highly recommend them. <br />

They came and installed the chimney cap, explained a bit about it. Simple people, simple work, no troubles. <br />

Jeremy Klaene came over to do the estimate.  He was patient with my questions and gave me options for how much work to do immediately.  The work crew called in advance to let me know they were coming, did the work quickly and pointed out additional repairs that would be needed.  I asked for a quote on the additional work.  The quote arrived within 24 hours. <br />
