We had signed a contract for a complete kitchen remodel. The contract stated the kitchen remodel would be done within 60 days. (The owner - Sarath Jerome Puthussery) commented that it could easily be finished in 4 weeks. 5/1/2023 - first payment was made via check. 5/30/2023 - work finally began. However, deconstruction was set to start at 8am, workers did not show until 12pm. 6/1/2023- second payment was made via wire insistent by Sarath Jerome Puthussery (owner). From 6/1/2023 - 6/18/2023 deconstruction, drywall, painting, cabinets, electric work, and flooring was completed. 6/19/23 - no work completed on kitchen. 6/20/23 - sent email to owner (Sarath) of work that needed to be fixed. No response. 6/21/23 - Countertops were measured. took about 20 min., then we were told via phone call that our countertops we chose were out of stock. 6/22/23 - Owner (Sarath) told us that he would be by to look at problems in kitchen. Never showed. Texted saying he would be there tomorrow (saturday) at noon). 6/23/23 - Owner (Sarath) did not show. Did not call. We texted him 3 times, no response. Did not answer phone calls or respond to voicemail. 6/28/23 - Owner (Sarath) responds to the email sent on 6/20/23, stating he was sending out a guy with samples of countertops. We asked when. No response. Guy never came out, but rather sent us crappy videos of 5 different countertops. 6/29/23 - Called MD Dept Of Labor to check license, good until September 2023. Found out owner had 7 open cases and 16 closed cases against him currently. We drove 1 hour to look at the countertop samples since no one came out ever. 6/29/23 @ 6:15 - Owner (Sarath) finally came out to look at kitchen remodel. Made promises that work would be finished in the next 3 weeks. 7/7-7/8 - No show. No work. No contact. 7/9/23 - Part of countertops installed. 7/10/23 - No show. No work done. No update. 7/11/23 - Countertops finished. Owner (Sarath) emailed that backsplash would be done on Wednesday and Thursday (7/12 & 7/13). 7/12/23 - No show. Text received that they would come tomorrow. 7/13/23 - 8am - 2 workers showed to do backsplash. 8:15am - workers left. No work done. No explanation of why they left. Emailed owner (Sarath) at 12pm to get an update. Owner responded later that evening that he and installer would be over Saturday morning (7/15). 7/15/23 - Owner (Sarath) and installer never showed. Responded to texts that he would be there Monday. 7/17/23 - Owner (Sarath) texted saying they would have to reschedule today. No response as to when work would resume again. 7/18/23 - Texted owner (Sarath). No response. 7/19/23 - Texted owner (Sarath). No response until evening stating that new workers would come to look at job. 7/20/23 - No work. No communication. 7/21/23 - Texted owner (Sarath) asking when work would resume. No response. 7/24/23 - Workers came out and completed the backsplash. 7/27/23 - Texted Sarath to find out when plumbing, electrical for stove, garbage disposal, and dishwasher would be completed. No response. New workers came by at 12:15pm and said job would be finished either by the weekend or Monday (7/31). 7/28/23 - No show. No work done. 7/29/23 - No show. No work done. 7/30/23 - No show. No work done. Texted owner to ask when someone would be over Monday. No response. 7/31/23 - New workers texted saying they were waiting for owner's reply on materials that they were waiting on. I texted owner (Sarath). No response. *60 day contract was up as of today* 8/1/23 - 8/6/23 - Texted owner (Sarath) daily, no response. No workers showed. 8/7/23 - Worker showed and completed toe mold, painting and handles. Still waiting on plumbing and stove installation. 8/8/23 - No work. No communication from owner. 8/9/23 - Owner (Sarath) responded to our texts, stated he hired a 24 hour plumber who would be over tomorrow (8/10) between 9-12 to finish the job. 8/10/23 - Plumber showed up at 9:05am. Left at 9:15am. I called owner (Sarath) multiple times. He never responded. Sent texts and emails. Never responded. 8/11/2023 - Contract is officially 11 days overdue for kitchen completion. Kitchen is currently unusable due to no plumbing, no oven, no microwave due to faulty electric outlet, no garbage disposal, no faucet. Text, official letter, and official email was sent to owner (Sarath Jerome Puthussery) stating that we are terminating the contract due to the kitchen being incomplete after 60 days of contract. For more than 60 days we have been without a kitchen, with an 18 month old child. It has been the most trying of times, especially with very little communication and response. We will be attempting to finish the remainder of this project on our own.

The project started out well until the first project manager got let go. Progress slowed and progress deteriorated as they went through other project managers. None of the team provided by Old Bay knew where someone left off and where to start, where the building materials were. The project ceased to proceed and my calls weren’t returned.

Baltimore Design & Remodel (formally Old Bay Remodeling) did a fantistic job with the deck. They were thorough and professional and their pricing was very reasonable. I had 5 separate companies come out and privide estimetes. The prices ranged from ridiculous to reasonable. Baltimore Design & Remodel gave the best layout and the best price. Their worksmanship did not dissappoint. From the estimator/designer, to the work crew, to the manager, AND the owner, all of them came out to my house while the job was in progress to ensure everything was going as I requested. The level of service was unprecedented. The final product is beautiful deck and it has become our place to hang out when it's not raining. We are very pleased with the entire process.

I had a very positive experience with Baltimore Design & Remodel. I had a finished basement that I kind of liked before a flood turned everything into a moldy mess. After taking care of the water damage, I called BD&R to redo my basement. I'm a bit adventurous so I gave them free reign on concept and design. What they came up with was absolutely breathtaking...I couldn't have thought up what is now my favorite room in the house! They were friendly, affordable, and very professional. I would definitely use their services again.

I paid $4800 down. They were too busy to order any items for the bathroom for 6 weeks. I told them they could not demolish the bathroom without ordering anything. I asked specifically for at least a bathtub 3 times. If they would have ordered anything I would have let them do it. They never gave me my money back. I asked 3 times. That was 8 months ago.

They installed a ceiling in one of the rooms and painted the entire floor. They put down one closet and one door. They did not finish the service correctly. The bathroom that they worked on, the tiling is a complete mess. The tiles are chipped. They put in the grout and done very poorly. There's paint in the grout. There are things that are not leveled. Including the light switch. My blinds was thrown and still sitting in my backyard. Things that I put on the punch list were not addressed. The workers took a long time because they did the job wrong repeatedly. That one point the bottom of the shower was done in a manner that wouldn't drain. After all these have gone on the CEO is telling me its taking long because I kept changing my mind but the only thing I've changed was I did not want a shower door. But it had not been installed at that point. and top of that both managers were going back in fort were giving opossite opinions on whether the door could be installed. workers came iregularly. The basement back doors was left unlocked. It was a constant mess. Paint got on the brand new carpet. There was a huge language barrier. especially between the first team which did not speak English and the person guiding them who did not speak Spanish. Was only able to give the guidance using hand gestures. In addition last night when going over the carpet, I step back onto a rusty screw forcing me to go the emergency room to get a tetanus shot

This review is 2 stars because the installer, Alex, did a really great job. Alex, if you’re reading this, you deserve better and you shouldn’t work for this company. I don’t normally write reviews, even when I have a bad experience, but this experience was so nightmarish that I feel personally compelled to make sure that no one else signs a contract with Old Bay Remodeling. I signed my agreement with Old Bay Remodeling on May 5, 2021. The job was not complete until September 15, 2021, even though Alex the installer was in my house for a total of 11 business days. These people are completely incompetent, disrespectful, and are liars. They will never return your phone calls or emails. The only time a conversation will be initiated is to ask for a check, which they will promptly cash. The disrespect: between the signing of the agreement and finally starting the job, I was no call no showed three (3) separate times. I can understand that home improvement is crazy during Covid times. However, to not call to say they can’t make it is 100% unacceptable. My wife and I moved our schedules around to make this work, and we couldn’t get a simple phone call. Furthermore, these people were screening my calls because they didn’t want to talk to me to explain why I was no call no showed. The incompetence: whenever I was lucky enough to get someone on the phone, they had absolutely no idea what was going on. Christina, the person in charge of scheduling, literally had no clue what the installer’s schedule was. One excuse I was given for being no call no showed was that the installer went on vacation and didn’t tell anybody. The lies: besides the obvious lies of when anybody would show up, both Christina and the field project manager, Chris, each told me that there would be a cleaning crew that would come after the installer was done to clean. When Alex was wrapping up, I asked Christina when the cleaning crew would come and she instantly started backpedaling saying that Alex and his helpers usually do a pretty good job of cleaning. When I said OK, but you and Chris each told me that a cleaning crew would come, she said that they’d come the next day. As of this writing, it is three days after job completion, and of course no one is answering the phone. Bonus incompetence: both Chris and Christina mentioned the cleaning crew completely on their own. Had they not said anything about it at all, I wouldn’t even have this expectation. I know the owner, Jerome, reads these reviews because I have seen him respond to others. Jerome, if you’re reading this, I would love to hear your weak response to this.

When my wife and I decided to upgrade our upstairs attict into useful space (i.e., 2 bedrooms and a bathroom), we chose Old Bay Cleaning. We researched various companies relative to their experience, expertise, efficiency, effectiveness, quality and price and found them to fit our expectations and budget. Michael Rose, their sales agent, was friendly and courteous and understood what we wanted. He painstakenly took his time to review the space and quickly provided us with ideas of what could be done with the budget we had in mind. We mutually agreed on a contract with details of what we wanted, the corresponding prices and the start and ending of the project. What was amazing was the seemless resiprocity between us and their outstanding work crew throughout the entire project process, their efficiency, effectiveness , cleanliness, and timeliness. The end result was an incredible transformation that met our expectations at the cost we mutually agreed on!

Wish I never hired this contractor to do work on our new house. They said they would be able to get the work done the end of May and now it is mid June and they aren't answering my emails or phone calls. I don't trust anything they say because if I had ordered the materials myself they would've arrived by now (everything was in stock also.) It took them a week and a half to order the materials after I had sent them everything. They put the sink for the basement in our upstairs bathroom instead of the vanity. They said they won't do work on our upstairs bathroom and kitchen until all of the materials for the basement bathroom are also delivered. We are trying to live in our new home and they have been so disorganized from the very beginning and terrible communicators. They told me they were starting on May 24th and I had to keep reaching out to learn that they wouldn't in fact be able to start then because they didn't receive all of the materials. It has been beyond frustrating and I do not recommend to use these guys at all.

My girlfriend had been trying to get me to remodel my bathroom since we first met. After about a year of us being together, she moved in, and started complaining about it so much that I had no choice but to do everything over. She was looking online on Yelp, and that's where she found Old Bay Remodeling. They had like 150 pictures on there of jobs that they'd done to previous residences. We started to scroll down and saw several of the bathrooms that they'd done for other people, and she eventually talked me into calling them.  What bothered me the most was my tub. It had been in this apartment since I moved in a couple of years back, and started out with a small crack in it along the wall. As time went on, it grew larger and larger, until eventually it was noticeable to anyone who walked in the restroom. It was so embarrassing that, when I had company, I would just close the shower curtain and hope they wouldn't peek in if they had to use my facilities. My girlfriend was normally the person that came over the most, and she was the first person to catch me trying to hide it. I also needed them to do some painting for me in there and make it a different color, being that there was now a lady in the house with me.  The main reason I didn't want to call anybody to remodel it was because I'm on a budget. But the best thing that I found out about Old Bay Remodeling is the fact that they would work with me by letting me finance the whole bathroom renovation project. For my bathroom, it only cost me like $100 a month. When I first started talking to Desiree, the office manager, I knew for a fact that I was going to enjoy working with this company because of how nice she was and how pleasantly she treated me and my girlfriend (my girl asks a lot of weird questions, and Desiree had a lot of patience!)  There was only one instance when the guys had to leave and go to Home Depot a couple of times during one visit, so it ended up taking almost half the day, and the job normally only took a couple of hours. But, other than that, they were always on time every day at 9:00 a.m., they were always nice, respectful, and just really did a superb job on my bathroom renovation without a lot of headache in the process.  All in all, when I look at how reasonably priced they were, and how good of a job they did, as well as the customer service they provided, I'd recommend Old Bay Remodeling to just about anybody who needs their services, especially if it's a bathroom. Now my girl's trying to talk me into letting them do the kitchen!

Old Bay did 2 jobs for me. First I hired them to do a small tile job in my rental. Then I hired them to do a bathroom job in my own house. Every thing was very professional. Enjoyed working with Mike who was the project manager and Bryan who was the crew lead.

Very Happy with the New Bathroom that Old Bay Remdoeling built for us. They were big on covering up and cleaning eveyrhing up after themselves. The only minor complaint is they did move us around with scheduling couple of times. I think that was because of the materails not being deliveted on time and all that. So, I would give them a pass on that because of the COVID crisis.

So happy we selected Old Bay Remodeling. Entire staff from design, demolition and construction were very professional and a pleasure to work with. Work was completed in the agreed timeline and the project manager Mike and designer Larry checked in often with use and daily with the construction crew. Desiree was especially helpful for any questions we asked. Thank you Old Bay Remodeling for modernizing a very tired 50's bathroom to a modern functioning bathroom!

Old bay upgraded 2 bathrooms for us. Our hall bathroom had a insurance incident and we were fighting with the insurance to get it straightened out for months. Old bay came in worked with the insurance directly and got us approved. They finished the bathroom in a week which was surprising. After this, we used them to redo our master bath which was again a 2 week project. They took the time to walk us though all the options and materials. Bryan and his helper did both the bathrooms for us and we are extremely happy with the quality of work. We are customers for life.
