This contractor is now in litigation. Damages he made to my home exceed the contracted amount. My home currently cannot be refinanced or sold. In my 11 month journey with this company I do not have one completed item. His contract was to end on 08/31/2021 and he was finally terminated 11/7/2021. He left 4 rooms of my home devastated. He was cited by CCB for illegally biding on my home as he did not have appropriate certifications for the work he was to do. Consistently late, many no calls no shows, lots of excuses as to why he could NOT work, constantly chumming for payments before work stages were completed. In 11 months i do not have one completed project. He is aggressive, manipulative, and difficult to work with. If you question the quality of the work he starts yelling and threatening to quit. While I cannot say with picture proof that he stole many tools I have many personal tools and equipment missing at his hands is sure appears that way. There were other contractors on this property but all brought their own tools and had not reason to borrow tools. On contractor did borrow ladders but Mr. Barclay was the only one that took mine home with him per his statement to CCB investigator. He went so far to ask for serial numbers of my ladders, skill saws, drills, etc. He sawed through one of our Costco tables with two saw horses 3 feet away and hid the damages as he did with many other damages. I do not recommend him for any home work. His intentions may be honorable but has no qualms ignoring the licensing requirements set by CCB. Appears to be ignorant of permit codes, disregards traditional construction protocols. On the surface he is an engaging person. Be sure to ask technical questions about the work you want him to do because while he says he has two years as a unction carpenter, he cannot cut a straight line, hang sheet rock correctly, build a straight wall. His specialty tile work in bathroom remodels is better left to a 6 year old with lego experience. The walls looked like basket weave, he left mortar and grout on the walls for days on end. The tile was damaged beyond repair. The state inspector said I would have to tear out the whole shower area before I sold my home and have it rebuilt with appropriate permits and a verifiably skilled person Stay away from this man. I will gladly provide proofs.
