They completed the repair and identified an additional crack that needed attention, which required a small additional cost.

I contracted to have waterproofing work done by Matthew Torgerson of Basement Seepage Solutions in February 2018. The waterproofing consisted of digging around the outside of my home to install new drain tile. After increasing the price $1300 midway through the job because an issue has arisen, he completed the job. He left huge piles of high dirt around my home. He also damaged my electrical box. This error was discovered in May 2018 when I had electrical work done and was unable to pass my Village inspection. Most important, while Mr. Torgerson did provide a written contract, he did not provide a “Home Repair: Know Your Consumer Rights” pamphlet. As a result, I had no idea of potential actions to take in the event of fraud. I have spent the last 6 months attempting to contact Mr. Torgerson including calls, text messages, sending a certified letter which was returned to sender, and filing a complaint with the Illinois Attorney Generals Office. Mr. Torgerson promised to repair the issue but stopped accepting my calls and has become unresponsive. He will not respond to the Village of Lansing.

Company refused to come to house when I called. When I called in spring, they refused to return my call. They refused to return my money when asked by Angie's list. I lost $122. I paid for service that I did not get. They are scoundrels and thieves. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

I have phoned several times to set it up and they do not call back. It expires May 23rd. I think they have just taken my $129 and decided not to do the work.

The Seepage Company did not have any knowledge of what it takes to encapsulate a crawl space. The cleaning process was not followed at all. They did not clean the waste out or spray the necessary chemicals to kill any remaining waste. The put did not put down the proper plastic membrane that keeps the moisture down in the crawl space. Please do your research this company should never, never, ever be allowed to work inside of anyones home.
Response from Basement Seepage Solution Inc
"we did the job the customer hired us to do. we cleaned out the crawlspace, bagged it up, had a dumpster pick it up and encapsulate the crawlspace w/16mil liner. they hired a plumbing company prior to us starting, after we discussed the broken plumbing prior to us starting. customer stated it was fixed. completed our job and got a call about water down there 1-2months later.( not a waterproofing job and no warranty on work against water, per contract). go there to look at what'[Member Information Removed] going on, and customer had someone tear the liner off the wall and ground and had a pit & pump installed. then she wanted me to re-do work for free, after she had it torn up. talked to her husband and he stated the plumbers never did the original repair correctly and that'[Member Information Removed] why they got water and a new smell. asked me to submit a proposal to repair the liner that was tore up. would love to post before and after pics of job, as well as pics of my work torn up after. I would also like to be able to put a a pic of the contract on here so others can see what really happened!"

finished our basement in Oak Park and before spending thousands of dollars on the remodel, it was crucial to add a sump pump and drain tiles to ensure no water would get into the house. We had four quotes and went with Matt and his team. We were told continually assured "You will not get anymore water in here." They finished the job and we had another team come in and finish the remodel. After our FIRST major rainfall, we had water coming in, soaking our carpet and running down the wall. After several calls, the owner finally picked up and said he could be there in 4 DAYS since he was busy. After arguing, he agreed to come the next day and fix it. The "fix" involved making a bigger mess and more water came in the next day. After arguing with me on over the phone, the owner said he would refund the money that we paid to have their company do the work (the only thing he did right). We have since figured out that his company NEVER put drain tiles along the North wall of our basement (He said he "snaked the pipes"). We have had to pull up the brand new tile, carpet, removed the stairs and open the walls, add drain tiles and now redo everything. We are out more money due to this company. They are unprofessional, rude and incompetent and I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. Quite honestly, they should not be allowed to do this work, as they clearly are just trying to make a quick dollar.

CAME OUT TO REPAIR. WEEK LATER IT RAINED. A LITTLE WATER SEEPED THROUGH (MUCH LESS THAN BEFORE). CALLED THEM BACK, THEY CAME AND WENT OVER THE WORK AGAIN. MANY RAINS LATER, NOT A DROP OF WATER HAS APPEARED.

The project went well and contractor did a good job completed the project a day early. However, upon paying the initial deposit with a credit card the contractor charged me cost of the credit card processing fee which was $288. Upon completion of the work, I paid the balance of the invoice with a credit card and the contractor wanted to charge an additional processing fee of $160 but waived the fee after a short debate.

Terrible Buyers beware! This company is a border line rip off. They are unaware of city guidelines and they do not pull permits. Please due your due diligence and ask the questions about the PSI, how they intend to complete the project, be diligent about all the procedure and the steps required. Then call someone else and have them do the job and save yourself the headache and the frustration.

Basement Seepage Solutions was my fifth quote. I almost canceled because I was sick of getting quotes and all the big companies charge about the same $70-90 per foot of drain tiles. Matthew's company beat these quotes hands down. He charges $50 a foot plus $10 off a foot for Angies list members (a savings of $1000 for me.). This company beat the next lowest quote by $3,600 so this was a no brainer. Matthew's company did excellent work. They were on time and professional and communicated with me the entire time. Also, Matt is on site during the process and is not just a sales man who comes for a quote then sends out a crew. The job took two days mainly due to the Villages inspection schedule. But I think this is preferable over the big companies that want to do it all in one day but are in your house from 8-8. Highly recommend if you need any sort of basement work done

They repaired my cracks and he later discovered two additional cracks. The guy came back after giving me the quote and now I don't have any water coming in the crawl space.
