Basset Home Service of Colorado Springs offers sales, service, installation and repair of residential home comfort systems including Heating, Cooling, Plumbing and Electrical Services. Carbon monoxide and gas leak testing and repair, maintenance service agreements, tune-ups, safety inspections and emergency after-hours service. We offer 100% satisfaction on all of our services. All new equipment we install is backed by our outstanding warranty protection plan. "If we can't guarantee it, we won't sell it." All of our employees are screened prior to employment and those requiring licensing are properly licensed and insured. In addition, our technicians participate in continuing education programs in order to stay abreast of the most current code changes and changes in the HVAC industry. We could not have asked for better service. I use Basset for all of my heating and air conditioning needs for a number of properties in addition to my personal home. They are my "go to" folks and I would not think of using anyone else. If you want someone who does business the old fashion way, i.e., providing exceptional service at a fair price to build an enduring business, Basset Heating and Air Conditioning are the best. My wife contacted Basset Heating & AC about a malfunctioning single residence AC system (In short: air flow was weak and not cool). The tech determined we were low on coolant, one of the system capacitors was underperforming and in need of replacement, and that we should consent to a leak seal injection (which we declined). This amounted to a $305 bill after labor and also declining something called a 1-year $199 "PRO Club Membership". The AC worked well for 2 days but then reverted to its weak, not cool state. My wife called Basset to inform them of this and was told that, because we declined the leak stop, they would not return without an additional labor fee. (My wife informed their phone rep that we would post a review of our experience during this conversation to no effect.) After getting a service tech from another AC company to come out, we discovered the entire system had iced-up, both inside and out. We had to run the central air blower non-stop for 2 days with additional box fans pointing toward the internal iced components before this other company could even perform an assessment. They concluded the system had no leaks, was grossly over-filled with gas, and running on a capacitor far larger than what was rated for our blower unit. This company went on to determine that the original home owners of our house had installed an AC unit far larger than was rated for our central air system in some "bigger is better" philosophy. They determined that keeping our thermostat no lower than 73° and utilizing the proper sized blower capacitor, our system would and has run just fine. We were only charged $75 for this other company's expertise. In a city with many options for AC repair, Basset Heating & Air Conditioning failed to properly analyze my AC system faults, made an existing situation far worse, charged me for and attempted to upsell me on needless services, and refused to stand by their work. I highly suggest looking elsewhere for any service they might say they can provide.

The gentleman who provided the estimate was very knowledgeable and passionate about his trade. He took time to educate us on our best options and he fully answered all our questions. We gathered 4 different estimates for this project, and Basset offered the best value by far. The maintenance plan offered more service for less cost compared to the other professionals. Basset was able to get us on the installation schedule within a week of our estimate! The installers (AC unit and electrical) were kind and professional. They called 20 minutes out to let us know they were on their way. The installer also took time to go over basic information, common problems, and what to do under certain circumstances. We were very pleased with our entire experience with Basset and we highly recommend them for any related home improvement project.

Response to my call was quick, Mike came out to consult as promised. He gave details and information without appearing to push for the most expensive system. We chose a very good system, but not the top of the line. <br /> Installer came out exactly when we agreed, which was only a few days after the consultation. He was polite, courteous, careful in how he treated our home. He finished in one day. There was a subcontractor who came the same day to handle the new electrical junction and wiring to the outside unit. <br /> The entire installation was done with minimal impact on our home. <br /> The installer said there was one thing (size and routing of a vent pipe) that was very hard to do (Mike had predicted this when he quoted the job). He said he would try one solution that would work perfectly well but that might not be what the state inspector wanted to see. He said if there was a problem he would come back out and correct it. <br /> Indeed one inspector said everything looks great, while the other one (inspecting something different) asked for this vent pipe to be modified. The installer came to the house promptly and engineered a solution that satisfied the state. <br /> One other comment about the original call. I needed to work with the office by telephone, setting the date and time and giving credit card info. The company was having trouble with their phone service, and we kept getting cut off. Eventually the young woman in the office gave me her private cell number so we could complete our business. I thought that was "above and beyond" as they say and speaks well of the company. <br /> Bassett is certainly our heating and AC company now. Will definitely work with them for future needs as well as ongoing routine maintenance. <br /> I did not grade them on price, as I did not get other quotes and have no way to compare. Sorry, but members will have to rely on other reviews to assess the price. <br />

Michael, Clinton and Chris have been awesome! They installed an A/C unit with our existing furnace. We had a few bumps along the way but they are trustworthy and willing to go the extra mile to make sure their customers are happy! They are always on time and professional. Basset Heating and Air Conditioning offers a great plan where the customer pays a reduced set price once a year to have their air conditioner tuned up in the spring and their furnace tuned up in the fall. Additionally, under the plan the customer recieves significant discounts should his or her air conditioner or furnace need emergency repair any time during the year. As usual, the Basset Heating and Air Conditioning front office called me to set up an appointment for my spring tune up. Mike called 30 minutes prior to arriving to assure me that he would be on time plus or minus a couple of minutes. The entire tune up took approximately 30 minutes. After the tune up was complete, Mike sat down with me and explained that my air conditioner was now 13 years old with a life expectancy of 15 to 20 years. He also explained that the EPA was phasing out the older air conditioners and that if leaks were to occur in my unit, the replacement freon was getting more and more expensive each year. He told me the approximate price of a new air conditioning unit and compared it to the price of continually replacing the freon in my older model. This was very good to know. Should leaks now occur over the next couple of years, I will definitely buy a new unit rather than throw away good money after bad. A very professional job from a very experienced, professional man. <br />

The installer called on the day of the appointment to make sure we were ready.The installation went very well even though he had to work in a crawlspace. He explained the system and how to service it. The company arranged for the permits and inspection on the next day. Everyone from the initial contact on was very courteous and professional.

Mike at Bassett Heating and Air was punctual and professional during my initial estimate. I received a call 15 minutes prior to the scheduled appointment time to inform me that he was on his way. He arrived on time. He was respectful of my home and family. Even my dogs seemed to like Mike. <br /> I told Mike that I needed a new outside a/c unit and that all the duct work and pipes were still in tact and functioning. Mike and I discussed my options as far as the old type of system versus the new ozone friendly units. He was patient and listened attentively to my requirements. He answered all of my questions with knowledge and confidence. After checking the plumbing and circuit breaker Mike informed me that my home was set up for either system and wrote estimates for both. <br /> With the information Mike provided I felt I was able to make an informed decision. In addition to providing the most reasonable estimate of several companies, Mike also offered fair finance terms that I could deal with. I made an appointment on the spot for the repair. Although we were going through a heat wave, Mike managed to book my appointment within 5 days of the estimate. <br /> Five days later, the crew at Bassett Heating and Air were again calling me to tell me they would arrive at my home in 15 minutes. My new unit was installed and running beautifully within 90 minutes. <br /> I will recommend Bassett Heating and Air HIGHLY to everyone who needs this type of service. Mike and his crew at Bassett Heating and Air have won my business for life. The price was competitive and the installer, Darren, went the extra mile to ensure all the vent pipes were installed neatly. The owner, Mike, priced several furnaces for me and thoroughly answered all my questions concerning the quality of various brands and exactly what size furnace my house needed.

Excellent experience overall. I will certianly be a returning customer. The rental property had a furnace & AC that was 25+ years old. They came out and explained that in this area the furnace may still have more life in it and the various pros and cons of doing to install now. I had over 10 estimates over the course of a week and they were only 1 or the 2 companies that admitted that the furnace may be OK with a good service. Since I was already ripping out drywall and renovating I decided to go ahead with the work and they gave me $500 off the price of each property. Their estimate was already lower than the other estimates and the 1k closed the deal. The installers were very experienced and patiently answered any questions I had. They kept floor coverings over everything (even over the plasitc I had already laid out for knocking down the popcorn ceilings. There were some pipes hidden behind the furnace that prevented the originally quoted setup from being installed, but they explained the situation, told me the option and let me decide what would be the best choice. Because of the hidden pipes the job took a bit longer than expected (about 3 hours into the next day instead of a single day install). Since the other AC install was scheduled for the next day it wasn't an issue. They were still in and out in the 2 day time frame. When the inspector came out he insisted that they rotate the AC unit to make servicing easier. (The inspector admitted that he was stretching the code to make them do it) They were out the next day to fix it and rescheduled the inspector all for me. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.
