We are delighted with our new shower. Bryan and Jessica were great at explaining our options and they really listened when I explained my preference for clean, simple design -- I could tell that they understood what I wanted right away, almost before I could really articulate it.. They came up with a proposal that matched our tastes and our budget. Bryan and his helper began work promptly on the agreed date, and finished ahead of schedule. My wife and I both noticed that they were meticulous about cleaning up each day -- not only around the bathroom, where they were doing vthe work, but in the garage and driveway, where they were storing materials, cutting tile, etc. <br /> Six thousand dollars is a significant sum of money, but our bathroom now looks larger, more open, and much more inviting. The old vinyl floor looked really cheap; the tile looks really classy. Same goes for the old tub and tub surround. It feels very luxurious to take a shower now. We strongly recommend Bryan and Jessica. I don't think I could have spent six thousand dollars in a better way! <br />

I met with Joe for an estimate and he arrived on time as said. <br /> Joe said he would get back with an estimate shortly but did explain his estimate load was heavy and to give him a week or <br /> two to respond with some good numbers. I had no problem with this as i was not in a rush to start. <br /> The Bathrooms by Design team showed up on the start date and worked well until the job was complete. <br /> We encountered a couple bumps along the way such as water location for new drain, as soon as Joe arrived he took no time to <br /> solve the problem as he cut right into the concrete and moved drain same day. No messin around!! <br /> Overall things went great, had no problems giving full access to my home as we trusted them. <br /> Finished product was more than our monies worth!! <br />

Sorry this is long, but I need to explain my situation. I had a problem with my shower leaking. I had just paid $5500 to have my old fiberglass stand up showe, which was cracked, replaced a year and a half prior. I thought it was just the grout, so I called a grout guy from Angie's List. Thankfully he brought Joe...just in case. Joe explained to me exactly what the problem was. The installation was not acceptable work. I needed an entire tear out and redo. He gave me options and understood that cost was a major factor. He knew what he was doing and had a vision from the start. I made my decisions and he gave me a quote. The materials were a little more than he anticipated, but he kept the quote the same. He even fixed a couple other things I needed done without an extra charge. You can't find that type of service anywhere. The only downside was I felt he was spread a little too soon. It took him a while to get some things done, but in the end it was worth it. He's very knowledgeable and good at what he does. This all happened about a year and a half ago, but I didn't want to review too soon. I was scarred from the previous incident that cost so much much more. I guess I was a little worried it would leak. He promised it wouldn't and it didn't. The date of service was a guess.

Joe and his crew are meticulous and highly skilled craftsman. They are extremely conscientious and take pride in their workmanship. Carl's plumbing, electrical, framing and drywall abilities are unmatched. Brian and Tony are perfectionists when it comes to tile installation. Dave is a professional painter and was very pleasant. Overall, we were thoroughly impressed with the final product. We absolutely love our new bathroom and will enjoy it for many years to come. We are planning to contract with Joe on a second bathroom remodel this coming spring. Joe and his crew are definitely our go-to guys for any future projects, big or small.

Mr. Joe Emmert from Bathrooms by Design came to our house on June 18th, 2012 , to give us an estimate for Master Bathroom remodeling. We wanted new glass enclosures for our shower, countertop with two sinks and two faucets, new toilet bowl, two vanity lights, toilet room floor, bath floor, bath tub walls and shower to be tiled. We picked the things and finalized everything. after we made an appointment to meet with him to pick up the products. Mr. Emmert came to our house on Oct.12th,2012 and asked for $3900, and we paid him by check for the amount, he said , they will start work on 10-15-2012. During that week of 10-15-2012, they came and demolished shower, removed the vinyl floor, took out the tiles from shower and bath tub area. On 10-19-2012( Friday), Mr. emmert asked for $2000 more, which we paid him with a check. During the week of 10-22-2012, they came and put cement board and worked on the shower floor. After that, no one showed up or made any phone calls, whether some one is coming to work or not. finally after several calls from us, Mr. Emmert said that the tiles may arrive the following Monday 10-29-2012. But he never contacted us again. We tried to contact via phone and emails, but we did not get response. On monday 11-19-2012, finally they came and laid the tiles on the bathroom floor, and said that the tiles need to dry for one day. On wednesday 11-21-2012, again no one showed up. We tried to contact <br /> by phone and email,no aswer. <br /> <br /> As he was never able to guaranty, when he is going to finish the work. So, we do not want him to continue his service any more and want him to refund our money for the not done

"I was asked to come to the house on or about June 18th 2012 to give an estimate for a master bathroom remodel. After approximately 4 or 5 visits to the home we finalized the estimate/proposal sheet on 10/11/2012. Due to the fact that different selections of different products kept changing. On 10/11/2012 I proposed an estimate totaling $10,153.00, after being asked to reduce the cost by ($153.00) we came to an agreement of $10,000.00 with payments as follows: Terms- A deposit of $3,900.00, $1,000.00 due after demo, $1,000.00 due after plumbing, electrical, framing was completed, $2,000.00 due before tile installation when Hardiebacker complete, shower pan formed, redguard waterproofing, total area prepped for tile, with the remainder due upon completion. On 10/12/2012 a check for a deposit was written in the amount of $3,900.00, since the demolition, plumbing, electrical, and framing were complete at the same time two payments were due of $1,000.00 each at which time customer paid a check of $2,000.00 on 10/19/2012. The bathroom was completed to the stage of all Hardiebacker placed on walls and floor prepped for tile. At this point the customer was to owe another $2,000.00, the tile did not arrive as perceived due to the fact it was a special order coming from the east coast and the hurricane affecting delivery date. After the tile arrived we installed all of the floor tile in the master bathroom. After dropping off tile for more tile installation on 11/28/2012 the customers advised me they wanted to rewrite a new contract to continue working on their house, but would not give back any of the tile that I had just dropped off. The total cost of the tile was $1,521.99, also I still have not received the $2,000.00 payment that was to be paid before the tile installation. As of this time we have $5,729.00 invested in material and labor. The customers came to my office sat in the parking lot for over 8 hours demanding a new contract, and/or their money back, we were willing to work with them until they showed up a second time a few days later and we had to call the police to have them removed from our premises. At this point in time the police officer asked them if they wanted to continue doing business with Bathrooms by Design and the customer stated "No". We are now contacting our attorney for "lost of opportunity" and feel we are in the right in this decision. Sincerely, Joe Emmert Bathrooms by Design."

It took several calls to get Joe out for the estimate and then it took several more calls to get a copy of the estimate. I caled him the next day and agreed to move forward with the job. The job was to be done several weeks in the future due to their schedule but Joe called the week before the work was scheduled and asked if they could come early. <br /> The individual that did the majority of the work did an excellent job and I am pleased with the quality of the work. The frameless shower door installation seemed to be more complex than they expected and took longer than planned. <br /> The final step was to finish the ceiling and drywall. The sub-contractor that they planned to use did not show up as planned and Joe had to arrange for a different contractor. To help get the job done the new drywall contactor came on a Friday evening and worked until 10pm to get the job done. <br /> <br /> <br />

The work was extensive. Joe competed for the work against 4 other contractors, each of whom bid on a bathroom remodel and the creation of a mother-in-law suite. I was so pleased with Joe's work, that I kept hiring him back for additional jobs throughout the Summer and Fall. He will return in the Spring to do some sealing and painting on the home's exterior. <br /> Joe is a master carpenter and has some very good ideas. What I like is that we were able to negotiate the work that would be performed. For example, I suggested the installation of bead board paneling in the foyer. Joe recommended against the panneled beadboard and asked if I would consider real bead board. I agreed. When building the new wall, to create a mother-in-law suite, I wanted a regular door installed; however, Joe asked if I would rather have a pocket door because, when open, it would not take up valuable space in the room. It was a perfect solution. <br /> Joe is very fair and honest in his pricing. I typically gave some of his workers $$ when I saw they did an outstanding job. <br /> After one of Joe's guys removed a door and closed the wall with drywall and painted it, I could still see where the old door frame was. Joe had his guys come out and fix it. Now I cannot tell there was ever a door there. <br /> Some of the work I had done was difficult and required the skills of a master carpenter. Although Joe's guys helped him, Joe himself took the lead on the installation of the appliance closet. I wanted to utilize the dead space under the stair well. Joe had his guys remove the drywall and expose the space. They cleaned it out and installed white laminate shelves and walls. It holds all of my appliances ... which is literally dozens!!! It is a perfect solution for someone like me who does not want any appliances on the countertops. Joe originally quoted a lower price than it ended up costing him. Joe ate the cost, but made up for it in being hired back for additional work. <br /> Joe is interested in doing a great job....but he is even more interested in building a business of happy and satisfied clients. <br /> I highly recommend Joe, not just for bathrooms, but for any jobs you have around the house. <br /> <br />

<strong>Pros:</strong> We appreciated Joe's easy-going personality from the start. He delivered high quality work at a fair price. He made great use of a small bathroom space while still being very willing to incorporate our design ideas too. His crew was friendly, courteous, and respectful. We would do business with him again. <br /> <strong>Cons:</strong> At times, we were left uncertain whether or not Joe/crew would be coming day-to-day. Joe's communication could use a bit of improvement. While satisfied with his work, our bathroom was completed 16 days past the estimated deadline. Not a huge deal for our personal circumstances, but something to consider nonetheless. <br />

"Easy to work with customer, we did run into some issues with the main drain being disconnected once we entered the crawl space for plumbing, we took care of this on the spot. It did set us back a day or two from original time frame. Also we seemed to have a problem with the humidity level in the house with drying time for drywall and paint coats which added some time. Nonetheless we over extended ourselves and worked outside our general working area. We now try and advertise and work in the Indianapolis and surrounding areas to serve customers more timely."

He installed the ceramic tiles in January and the job was good and I was satisfied of the job. However, in June I noticed the tile and grout was cracking. They have a one year warranty. When I called him, he said he would come out to look at it. It took him 4 weeks to come out and look at the tile and grout.. He said he would fix the tilesand grout at no charge. However, it took him 3 months to completethe job. Sometimes he didn't show up when he said he would. Sometime he wouldn't return my call. He had alot of excuses. It was very frustrating and I never knew what to expect and when my floor would be complete. At one point, my floor was tore up for 2 weeks to replace only about 6 tiles.

"The tile floor is beautiful to say the least, We carry almost a straight A rating and strive to uphold that status. We received a call from her letting us know some tiles had cracked. We inspected the floor to find the tiles were still stuck to the underlayment usually indicating the floor had movement. 4 tiles cracked in the same area along with a linear grout joint , I took steps necessary to understand what may have happened since i have only seen this in 22 years of experience and my tile setter of 28 years only twice. I also explained to her I would bring in a Hardi backer Rep to view the situation which took some time to get them out. After review we found a soft spot in the floor joist after spending time in the crawl space. We have braced the area and are in the process of repairing the tiles at this time. We back up our workmanship and have never not fulfilled that promise to customers on workmanship. These grades are unfair and we have to take the time and process to make sure the repairs are done properly. I cannot be responsible for settling floor joist however we agreed to take care of the situation for one to learn and two because its not big of a major repair. Thanks, Joe Emmert"

This job from start to finish went as promised, I now have two batrooms that look brand new. Joe ,the owner of Bathrooms By Design, has a very good crew who work very well inpendent of him..They are a dedicated bunch who put in long hours working late into the night to get a job done. I was extremely impressed with their professionalism and willingness to train newer staff members while on the job. This showed in the overall job quality. If I add hardwood flooring to my kitchen area it will be most definitely be a job for Joe and his Bathrooms By Design crew..

Bathrooms by Design was my 3rd estimate I immediately knew Joe was the right person for the job. He understood exactly what I wanted done and clearly had an understanding of renovations and construction. I needed to repair under the shower but had also decided to reconfigure the bathroom with a larger shower and re-arrangement of the tub. They started the following day of signing the contract. The contract was detailed and indicated payment at certain milestones. There was always a clear understanding of what was included in the scope of work and what would be additional based on my requests. They layed plastic down on the floors all the way to the upstair bathroom. They did a great job of containing the dust and always left the area tidy upon leaving for the day. I was always informed of the work progress and explanation of the cause of the leak. Once there shower and tub were removed, it was clear that I had more than one leak and Joe took clear pictures and worked directly with my insurance adjustor and submitted pictures and details for supplemental damage. As I work from home, I thought it would be challenging to have folks working all day in the house, however, Joe's crew were always professional and respectful of me and my home. Once tile installation began, and the tiler layed down the first 10 feet of tile, I realized it was not the tile that I wanted. This caused a delay and Joe took it in stride and helped to return as much of the tile as possible, pulled up the old tile and replaced it with a tile that I absolutely love.I couldn't be more pleased with the quality of work, the service provided and the overall experience. For anyone who has ever renovated knows that this is usually not the case. <br /> I couldn't be more pleased with the quality of work, the service provided and the overall experience. I would recommend Bathrooms By Design to anyone that needs any kind of repairs/remodeling of their home.. I am happy to have found a contractor that is honest, straightforward and would contact Bathrooms by Design for any furture renovations. The pictures are worth a thousand words!!

<br /> Joe Emmert was quick to respond with a detailed estimate. He was of enormous help <br /> in helping me choose tile that would most enhance and visually enlarge the bathroom. <br /> His team of workers came on the appointed date and covered all carpeting they would <br /> have to walk on with plastic (there was a great deal of carpeting to be covered, including <br /> carpeting up a wide, curved staircase). The job went smoothly from beginning to end with <br /> cleanup before leaving each day. I was particularly impressed with the perfect design Dave <br /> the tiler implemented around the tub. He had to cut many pieces to fit perfectly for a smooth <br /> professional look. All workers were professional and extremely polite. My old bathroom <br /> looks totally updated. I honestly did not expect it to turn out as well as it did. Have a second <br /> bathroom to update in the near future. Would not even consider calling anyone else but <br /> Bathrooms by Design to perform this job.

When I got in touch with Bathrooms By Design I had a bathroom project that was started (not professionally) and wanted to get it finished (and fixed right) so that I am able to sell my house. I got an estimate from Joe, which was more than reasonable, and he began working immediately. The team never failed to show when they stated they would, completed work in a VERY timely fashion, and with excellent quality. The whole team was very professional and trustworthy. The finished project looks 100 times better than I ever thought it could look. I have ahd a few showings even why they were working, and all have stated how nice of a job the bathroom looks. I would use Bathrooms By Design again for any future needs. Great work and thank you!!!!

They came out and quoted the job with an excellent price to start with, as some of the other quotes we received were to high in price. We agreed to a start date, but it got changed due to my schedule. Because of that it was hard setting up another start date as the company was scheduled to work on other jobs. Regardless, the owner of Bathroom by Design made it happen and send out a tile setter that is the BEST I have ever seen. His attention to detail, professionalism, and clenliness was EXCELLENT. Not only did the tile setter know what he was doing, you could tell that he had a lot of experience such that he was able to comment and give great ideas as to how to make the installation look great. We were impressed with both the estimator, and tile setter, as they really knew what they were doing.

Joe was referred to us from a good friend of mine who was pleased with his work. I called over the weekend, he called me right back and came over for an estimate that Saturday. When they tore the old shower out he realized the plumbing behind the wall was corroded and replaced it. And when I showed him the shower in the other bathroom and how it was old and wasn't working, he also replaced those faucets. He also helped us get our vent fans working again, they were broken in both bathrooms. In addition to that, we had a leak that he also fixed and replaced the ceiling in garage (from the shower he was fixing). We decided to completely strip and replace exactly what we had in shower (it was outdated and plain white) because we were on a budget and we were trying to match tile that we had around the garden tub. He knew I would be unhappy with plain white tile and talked me into a modern tile pattern, which we picked out together. So glad he did because it is absolutely beautiful. He made the tile stand out by taking it all the way to the ceiling, added a nook with a really cool pattern and placed some decorative strips. It was so much more impressive than I could have imagined it. And we already bought more tile to place around the tub at a later date to match. It did take a lot longer than was estimated, some of the time spent waiting on ordered materials, but I am so glad that we did it. Anytime he had questions he would call me, if I was at work. All the staff was very friendly and professional. He gave me a good price and did not overcharge me for the extra's. And gave me a break on the price of the tile too.

i called bathrooms by design and talked to joe about getting our master bath tiled-joe was out to measure within a couple of days and had the estimate ready for us within a couple more days..we ran into a plumbing problem with our tub-so joe gave us the time to get that fixed then had the tiler at our door ready to do the job within 3 days-the job was done in 2 days and turned out beautiful-i love it !! and will recommend bathrooms by design to others...
