messaged on 7/20 and a woman from their office called back quickly. I called her back but instead spoke to gentleman on the phone - he insisted in getting my "husband's information" when he was getting my information - I asked him if that mattered and he said he likes to get all of the information for "decision makers" from the beginning. I did not provide that info but nonetheless he sent his workers to arrange estimate on 7/24 for roofing repairs. Was told they would suggest to owner to send both a quote for repairs and full roof replacement. Put tarps over damaged areas to keep additional leaks from happening. ($195.00) Never got a quote from them. Messaged them multiple times and never heard back. The workers that came out to inspect the roof were great but never got a quote to get any other work done.

The job went well overall. Had rafters repaired, a vent moved, and a metal roof put on. There was an issue that arose from miss communications. Roy stepped up and corrected the issue. Excellent quality and great price. It’s been on for a few months and everything is great.

I had to have the electric change on it the way he wired it. Since the fan is shaking I was wondering of I got a new one. I called him and he never responded back to me. I am not really happy.

We had unfortunately almost been taken by a person walking through the neighborhood advertising new roofs after assuring the customers that they would be able to get insurance coverage.  I called Bauer roofing, because they did such a good job on a new roof 15 years ago. Not to mention over the years I have called them occassionally to come check on the roof, and they were always very happy to do that...I loved my old shingles, and he assured me that we could get the same color in a much better shingle.  Roy was very understanding and sympathetic to our near fatal mistake of going with a nobody, which made me feel better. They began on a Tuesday and were done Thursday afternoon...they did a great clean up job, and we have a beautiful new roof! I would highly recommend them to anyone who thinks they may be in the market for a new roof. <br />

BAUER ROOFING   <br /> The work done on the roof was Very Professional. <br /> The problems we encountered were that:·         <br /> They did not adhere to our request NOT to come during a time that we were out of town. <br />         <br /> They did not call before coming to the house. They would just show up and start working when we were not home. <br />          <br /> Damage was done in Hail Storm May 2014 in Richland Northeast, the roof was replaced in September 2014, and the remainder of the work was completed in March 2015. <br />          <br /> They did not supply an itemized bill for what work was performed.  The bill was just a lump sum of what they wanted to be paid.  <br /> The work was good but the billing and work practices were not what I would expect from a <br /> good company.  <br /> <br /> After sending us the itemized bill, Mr Roy Bauer made an appointment in May 2015 to ensure we had all the billing information requested and discuss the matters listed. He personally appologize for the inconviences.  He realized that there was some miscommunication, during this time of massive number of damaged units, that needs to be changed. He said he was going to make some changes to his business procedures to ensure that this does not happen in the future. <br /> <br /> (Review was updated 08/31/2015. After a bad hail storm in April of 2000 I needed a new roof. I had lived in my house since 1994 and never had trouble with my roof but my insurance company said the roof had been damaged and needed to be replaced. Bauer roofing was referred to me by a friend. I called them and contracted to have my roof replaced. <br /> Many of the homes in my neigberhood were having their roofs replaced and I noticed how clean their property looked during the process. That was not my experience. Lunch papers and debris were left, flower pots and hose destroyed. I called and complained about the workmen. Mr. Bauer did not seem to take me seriously about their behavior but did finally replace the flower pots and hose. <br /> Almost from the beginning I've had trouble with the roof. They would come back reluctently but never fixed any of the problems. I've had constant problems and now have to find a company to fix a botched job. I feel I would have been better off if I never replaced the roof. <br /> I'm writing this review now because I am a new member of Angie's list and was searching for roofers. When I came across Bauer roofing I noticed their reviews were not good. I wanted to add my story so others would not have to share my experience with this company. <br /> <br />

We contacted Bauer Roofing in February after a heavy rain and windstorm had caused our shingles to flap in the wind and blow off the roof.  After looking at their website, various reviews online, and their longstanding A+ rating with the BBB, we felt they were the right company to contact.  Roy Bauer came out the next day, inspected our roof, and told us what damage he had found.  He told us to contact our insurance company and arrange for the adjustor to come out, and added that he would be glad to meet with him when he came.  The next day, which was a Saturday, we got an early morning call from the adjustor telling us he would be in our area in about 5 hours.  If we couldn?t see him then, it would be 2 weeks before he could come back out.  I called Bauer Roofing expecting to get an answering machine or service, but Jonathan Bauer answered the phone and told me he would relay the message to Roy.  To our delight, Roy Bauer gave up his weekend time to meet with our adjustor.  That impressed us and boosted our confidence in his company. <br /> When the adjustor?s claim estimate arrived the next week, I emailed it to Roy.  He noticed that the adjustor had left off certain items, and that he had given the wrong dimensions for various areas of our multi-level roof.  Roy contacted our adjustor and discussed these needed corrections to our claim, and we received more money from our insurance company.  We were also given references to contact about their experiences with Bauer Roofing.  All the customers we spoke with were very pleased with the work they had done.  Roy also supplied us with photos of previous jobs, and we were pleased with the results we saw.  We contracted with Bauer to do the work, and Roy dropped off samples of the color and type of shingle they would be using on our roof for our approval.  Two weeks later, their crew arrived as arranged. <br /> The head of the crew, Amos Goldstein, introduced himself to us, and explained what they would be doing.  Since we have a big <br /> problem with squirrels trying to chew their way back into our attic, he made sure that they left nothing exposed that would give them access to the interior of our house.  They also made sure that the work in progress was properly protected should a storm arise before the job was completed. The crew was very professional and worked extremely hard.  They arrived on time and kept us apprised of what was going on.  They showed us damaged plywood and where it had been replaced, and answered the questions we had about the roof.  They cleaned up as they went along, and added more crew as the job progressed. <br /> The job was finished in 4 days, one day having been cut short due to rain, and Amos returned to check the finished product.   He even came back a second time to fix a downspout that had come loose.  The following week, Roy Bauer returned to inspect the work, take photos of the roof, make sure we were satisfied, and collect the final payment. <br /> Two days ago, we had an extremely heavy downpour with high winds, and our new roof passed the test with flying colors.  Several neighbors even commented on how good the new roof looked.  We were so pleased with Bauer Roofing's work, that we have asked them to do some trim work around our windows, as they have a construction division in their firm.  We would not hesitate to recommend them to any of our friends and neighbors. <br /> <br />

Before the new roof was even completed it leaked... very badly. Water ran into our addition in the back of the house all over our floor and furniture. The company did come out and replace the interior ceiling and try to fix the problem, however the problem continued for six months leaking in exactly the same spot. They NEVER did anything to remove the water, dry out the furniture or clean the mess. The workers left lots of garbage all over our yard. There were lots of roofing nails left in the lawn and driveway... we ended up having three flat tires. The men cut my roses off my bushes, put the flowers  in a cup of water, and put them under a vehicle in the driveway while they were working and then took the flowers home. I did not authorize them to cut my roses off my bushes!!! The man that Bauer sent to replace the interior ceiling due to the leak came to the front door. I let him in the front door and brought him to the room at the back of the house to where the damage occurred. He walked by the bathroom on his way to the room. He went out the back door and proceeded to pee on my house!!! Right in front of me. I asked him if he just finished peeing on my house and he replied that he did. I asked him why he could not ask me if he could use the washroom and he started yelling at me and walked off the job! They had to replace the interior ceiling in that room three times and it was an extremely poor job.  The nails have shown through the plaster, it was not smoothed out well. Bauer was never able to completely fix the roof that leaked, he suggested that we get a gutter. Mr. Bauer (the older gentleman) is extremely rude and horrible to deal with. He sends his son out to do the estimate and try to convince you to hire them. It worked! The son was very personable and seemed knowledgable, but I promise you it will be a horrible experience. BEWARE!!!! Do not engage in this nightmare! It was the absolute worst exprerience I have ever had with a company!   <br /> <br /> Now that I have read the other reviews I am concerned that more leaks are going to come in the near future. We spent extra money getting the better shingles but we were had!!! Please heed my warnings and keep yourself from the heartache and anguish of such a horrible experience.

I thought a 30 year roof would last longer than 7 years. Now every time it rains, I just wait for another leak to start.

After they were done doing the work, they did clean up well. The roof looks wonderful and I have had no leaks since it was done. It took them about 1 week to start the project, but they were very fast. There was a huge crew working on my house that day.
