He did the inside of the fireplace the new logs and the pipe the first day and was paid for service at that time .  He came back the next day, and finished up. He had booklets for me to pick out a fire screen.  I picked out the firescreen that day.  I paid full price up front and have not received the firescreen at this time.

Ben was a pleasure to work with.  He is the real deal in my book.  He clearly knows his stuff I have a 100 year old house which always comes with challenges.  He put in a lot of effort and diligently  worked through all  the issues.  His prices are definitely competitive and he deserved every penny!  I would highly recommend him to everyone. <br />

Ben responded right away to our inquiry, and came to the house within a few days to give us a bid.  He was very patient and flexible (schedule-wise) as we waited for our fireplace to arrive.  We were so pleased with our experience that we asked him to return to help us with some electrical issues that we had identified (or needed help identifying!).   Ben is the consummate professional, friendly, and honest. The visit went extremely well, the work was very thorough. Ben was apologetic about communication difficulties, prior to the appointment. He experienced a lightning strike that eventually eliminated his internet access from his business.

Ben is very trustworthy and does great work. He will text and call you back promptly. However, he typically does not arrive on time but he does keep you informed.

We had previously contacted other gas fitters, who did not know have the proper equipment, so we felt we had to find a fireplace expert. Ben is the only gas fitter recommended by Bromwell's and we were highly pleased with his work.

. We decided to convert three of our four fireplaces from wood to gas. They originally used to be coal so they are smaller than normal. Ben came out and gave us an free estimate and told us what we needed. The fireplace in the dining room did not have a basket so we bought a great basket plus three burners, starters and artificial coals. We called Ben after all the items came in and he set up a date to come out to begin work. He told us it would take two to three days. During the whole process, Ben always showed up on time, cleaned up after himself and was very professional. He completed the job on time and the work he did was excellent! I recommend him highly. Our fireplaces were small since they were coal, so he had a challenge to get the burners in. We chose artifical coal instead of gas logs in keeping with the period of the house. It turned out better than we could have ever imagined. <br />

This is a 90 year old house and the valve was original equipment. It had to be replaced but only from below by cutting a hole in the basement ceiling. Even then, the valve was built into the joists and the area to work in was about 6x10 inches and all overhead. Ben worked on this replacement for hours and he worked unbelievably hard. It was frustrating work, but I never heard him call out in anger (of course I was not with him at all times:)). He may be the ONLY tradesman capable and willing to take on a job like this in this area. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of all things fireplace. Price is very fair. Without a doubt, he is The Man. <br />

It took several months to find the part and for me to get the money together. He knew his stuff, prices were kind of high but there aren't too many specialists out there in that field.

We had used BC once before and was very satisfied, so I called Ben again this time.  He prepares the area very well with tarps, does meticulous work (not rushing to get done) and cleans up any debris caused by the work.  He explains what he's doing and anything he finds necessary to point out. <br /> <br /> Both the previous time and this time his work was excellent and the price was very fair. <br /> <br /> He is also very personable to chat with while continuing to work.  <br /> <br /> I will continue to use BC as needed.

Ben arrived when he said he would and worked on the fireplace and gas line for 2 hours. I left him alone in the house and went back to work. He called me when he was done, so I could pay him and lock up. I was very comfortable leaving him alone in the house. He was very professional and knowledgeable. I don't know if he was the cheapest, but he is definitely the best, and you get what you pay for. Plus I saved 10 % with an Angie's List coupon.

He is excellent. The price was a little high but he did great work and he was very personable.

The job of cutting in the middle of a Black Steel Gas Pipe is a very big deal in my mind. Ben took his time and did it right. He double and tripple checked to make sure all was perfect before he left. He was also super professional and respectful of my 4 year old daughter sleeping at her nap time. They did a good job at a reasonable price. We were happy with their work. Our experience with them overall was great.

This company was recommended by Bromwell's Firplaces. I called to set an appointment. Ben set the appointment for right away. He arrived on time and installed the logs within 5 hours. I had a coupon from that month in the Angie's List book. He did not want to honor it and said it should have never been in there. I told him that it wasn't my fault and that it was in there and he should honor it. He agreed to honor it. During the course of the install, he told me he needed to do extra work and it would be an extra $50.00. That was the exact amount of the coupon discount. It seemed like he was trying to make up for the coupon discount. Also, we had discussed the price on the phone previous to him getting to my home. After he left, I looked at the bag of left over items and noticed a part in the bag. Ben had told me it wasn't required for the logs. I called the manufacturer and asked them about it. They said it was a safety part and it should be installed. I decided not to call Ben back because I was upset about the extra cost and the part not being installed. I called Bromwells and explained the situation to them and they agreed to send their service person out to install the part. The man they sent had actually sold his business to Ben and was referring him. He installed the part. I showed him the install from the fireplace and the piping in the basement and told him what we were charged and how Ben had charged extra. He agreed that he thought I had been charged $50 -$100 too much. Overall, I was pleased with the quality of the work. Nothing was damaged or sloppy. Ben is a pleasant person. I did not like the fact that safety equipment wasn't installed and he raised the price to make up for the coupon. If I ever have another fireplace log install, I will call a plumber.
