They did well. They had several people there at a time. It took one day to do the work. They left the area clean. The quality and their time management was well.

We chose 5 roofing contractors from Angie's List. When they came to give us an estimate we told them that price was not our only criteria, we wanted a quality job. Honestly they all seemed fine except for one thing or another. For example , in 1 estimate the gutter had a grater type screen, I didn't like it. Another estimate the contractor did his math wrong and his estimate was half of everyone else. I think they would have been fine but.... In the end we chose Beams because of Brad Rigney. He came and gave an estimate and nailed down a shingle on the house next door for us, the estimate was competitive with the others and frankly Brad impressed us both. When the work crew showed up Brad was there to introduce us to the work foreman Ceasar and showed him specifics like the trim we needed replaced and that we were keeping our down spouts. Then the crew went to work and removed our old roof and laid down some sort of under roof that was waterproof and insulated. (I worried about rain noise. If you've ever been in a barn during a rain storm you know the noise can be deafening.) anyway, the next day they put the roof on and that evening we had a rain storm, no noise, not a whisper. So they came ,they roofed, they cleaned up and a few days later(weather delay) the gutter sub-contractors came and within 2-3 hours had the new gutters on. Thru it all Brad kept in touch and on top of everything. One small snafu, the preliminary contract called for 5" white gutters, however by the final contract I wanted 6" green gutters to match our new metal roof. When the gutter contractors came , they had run out 25' of 5" white gutters. When we told them it wasn't correct they called Brad he talked to them and they said they would be back tomorrow with the right product. And they were, no fuss no muss no anger just kinda oops our bad. I have hated dealing with contractors in the past. ( we've all been through it ) With Brad as Beams representative we were in excellent hands. I only gave Beams a B on price because it wasn't the cheapest estimate, but I do believe it was the best and I would recommend them to anyone. the whole experience was hassle free and how many times can you say that about a contractor that has worked on your home.

Beams did an amazing job on all of our remodeling. The kitchen is now up to date and looks beautiful, and our master bath is gorgeous. The workmanship on our basement remodel is top quality! We're extremely happy with the job.

Excellent on all accounts. All work was performed on time and with excellent craftsmanship. Pricing was competitive. I most appreciated Brad's oversight and the personal interest he took in all the individual projects from beginning to end. All questions and concerns were promptly addressed to our satisfaction.

It has been a few years since work was done. There wereproblems that have occurred since. First, the salesman promised me that no nailguns were used yet I found the nails on a strip later in my yard. My Chimney cover came off right after they finished. Beams said they were not responsible so I had to hire someone else to fix that. My gutters covers began being raised by birds because Beams did not put them back correctly. Recently the shingles began to pop up due to NAIL POPPING .This occurred because they were not done correctly by Beams Roofing. I had to have them pulled up ,resealed ,and nailed correctly .This prompted me to write this review. The overall rating of A for this company is very deceiving for customers.
Response from Beams Roofing & Remodeling
"We ask all prospective customers and current customers to read this response as there are many things in the above review that are incorrect and unjustified. First and foremost, we did this roof 4 years ago. Customer has a 5 year Workmanship Warranty. Customer made NO attempt to call us and let us know she had an issue with nail pops. Our warranty includes nail pops and we would have gladly went to the customer's home and fixed the issue at no charge. I would understand the Customer giving us an F on quality and overall IF they had called and we refused to come fix it. However, we were never called or given an opportunity to fix it. We are still shocked to see this unfair review come out of nowhere after 4 years without so much as a phone call being made to us. Nails pops are common. Plywood (more than 1X8 boards) will expand and contract throughout the years. Due to this roofing nails back out from time to time. We can't help this at all but we cover it in our warranty because it is simple to fix and we want our customers to be happy. Pop nails happen on every roof to some extent. This has absolutely NOTHING to do with our workmanship. Again, we would have been happy to send a repair technician out to fix them but the Customer never called us. Customer states we used coil "air gun" nails on the roof. We did not. I have the invoice for the material ordered for and used on this job. We ordered 1-1/4" Hand Drive nails for this roof. If you remove a nail you will clearly see there are no coils around the nail. We do work for several residential builders that use coil nails on their roofs. We have no control over this and we often have coil nails in our vehicles because of it. Customer finding a strip of coil nails doesn't mean that's what was used on the roof. I would be more than happy to show Customer the invoice for their material order. I have no idea about the chimney cover (chaise cap). I don't recall this and have no notes on it in the file. However, the photos we have of your home show your chimney cap is nearly 6 feet above the roof line. We don't remove these or alter them in any [Member Information Removed]. We had nothing to do with the chimney cap. Our guys would have had no reason to touch it. I do have photos of the cheap, flimsy gutter guards that we had to remove and put back on while doing the roof. We put them back on to the best of our ability. Gutter protection systems like Leaf Relief, Gutter Helmet and Leaf Sentry are durable and very easy to reinstall in the same condition that we find them in. Unfortunately customer's gutter guards were bottom of the line and made of extremely flimsy material. Once again, we put them back on to the best of our ability. Beams Roofing & Contracting services hundreds of happy customers every year. We have Angie's List Super Service Awards for 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015 and were just informed we received the award again for the 2016 calendar year. We also have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. These things don't happen by chance. Had this customer called us to let us know they were having an issue they would have seen how we take care of our customers. Instead they became overly emotional to the point of writing an unfair and uninformed review. We did nothing wrong and now have to explain an unjustified "F" on our Angie's List profile to future customers. We hope customer truly understands that their unwarranted review hurts our business and all of the employees attached to it., We thank the thousands of people we have serviced in the past 17 years. We will continue to take care of our customer base and perform quality Roofing, Siding, Gutter and Remodel services. BEAMS BUILDS IT BEST!"

The roofing crew, Antonio, Mario and crew boss, Carlos were the some of the hardest working guys I've ever seen. Antonio and Mario worked from early in the morning into the evenings to get the job done. They were very friendly and offered a cheery "hello" each morning they arrived. The gentlemen working on my chimney were Javier and his helper Ruben. They did a fantastic job making my chimney look like new. I sincerely appreciate the attention to detail and enthusiastically recommend Wes Beams and his crew for your next job.

In Fall 2015 Brad from Beams Roofing inspected my mother’s house for storm damage. Brad was very respectful and knowledgeable and worked great with my insurance company. He felt the insurance company’s quote was too low and submitted revised measurements to obtain an additional $600. The weather became too cold to replace the roof so we agreed to wait until Spring. In Spring I called to schedule the installation but Brad was no longer with the company so I met with owner Wes Beams. Mr. Beams went over insurance paperwork and wrote up a new contract (some items slightly higher cost than in the Fall). I was a little concerned when several line items were left out of the new contract, but as I pointed them out, Mr. Beams wrote them back in. I was also surprised when he said I would have to pay for all the material upfront (because I’ve always heard not to do that – even from my insurance company). Due to the high rating on Angie’s List, I went ahead and agreed and provided $4200 up front. The work was expected to take less than day, and since my mother has Alzheimer’s and we would need to make special arrangements, it was agreed the work would be done on a Sunday (they do not typically work on Saturdays). It was also agreed that if the roof took longer than a day we would get notice (because we would need to make arrangements for mom). On installation day we returned home at 5:00 pm and the workers had left, but the roof was not done. We had not heard from Beams, but Monday morning the workers began hammering at 7:00 am. This was a hard day for my mother, since we were not given ample notice to make arrangements (they were supposed to schedule a time for a 2nd day – we didn’t know they were coming Monday morning). There were legitimate reasons the roof didn’t get done in 1 day (damp ground, replacing some rotten wood), but I wish the communication had been better. Upon completion of roof, Mr. Beams called me the next morning to tell me he had talked with my insurance company and that I was to go ahead and pay him for the remaining cost, and when my cancelled check came back to give him a copy and he would file it with the insurance company. That set off a few warning bells for me. I said okay, but hung up and called my insurance company. They had no record of speaking with him (they said they log all calls), and that this would never be the proper procedure. They agreed to let me conference in Mr. Beam while they explained how the insurance filing worked (fax in completion details and they would issue a check in a day or two). I met with Mr. Beams that same evening so I could go ahead and pay him our deductible share, along with some money for the boards they replaced. I had the checks ready for him based on our contract, but Mr. Beams spent 20 minutes re-adding things up again and again, eventually agreeing that the checks I provided were exactly what the contract said. He had a terrible attitude that evening. He said I should pay the last $1800 the insurance owed because the contract was between me and him – not the insurance company. I had already given him almost $6000 (most of it up-front), so I’m not sure why he was so upset over waiting an extra couple of days for the last $1800. I told him it was my understanding that most roofing companies worked with insurance companies since not every homeowner would have the money to pay for roof installations up front and then get reimbursed. He said he doesn’t usually work with insurance companies, and then proceeded to spend 20 minutes bashing the roof on my own house (which I had told him I had installed a couple of years ago). He then complained that he lost money on our roof, did me a favor by working on a weekend, that he was going to go back to my insurance company and ask for more money because the measurements were wrong (his company measured). In my opinion he was acting childish and trying to deflect from the fact he caught called out for saying the insurance company said for me to pay for the roof and get reimbursed. Used car salesman is the impression I was left with. The roof itself looks good as far as I can tell. They cleaned up after themselves, so no complaints in that area.

"Thank you for taking the time to share your review. I'm so pleased that you're happy with the quality of your new roof. I am very sorry, however, to see that you weren't happy with your overall experience with our company. I also want to apologize that your mother had such a difficult time during the roof installation. We pride ourselves on always having good communication with our customers, but we let you down, and we are sincerely sorry. We have taken to heart these issues you've brought to our attention, and we will work to make sure these things don't happen again. Thank you, Bettie"

I am very satisfied with my choice to hire Beams Roofing and Contracting and highly recommend this company. The work began only 4 days after I signed the contract, and it took a day & 1/2. Mr. Beams is very knowledgable and his estimate was one of the lower of 4 quotes. However, I was most impressed with him advising against replacing my custom skylights at this time. This ultimately allows me to get several more good years from my existing skylights, and I can budget the cost of replacement down the road. I feel his priority is to do what's right for his customer, rather than making the most money possible on a job.
It's been raining in our kitchen for years. We live in an older home with a clay french tile roof, and there aren't many companies in Louisville that work on those types of roofs. We have had several roofers come out - some we never heard from again, some performed work that didn't solve the problem. Some provided estimates that were so outrageous, they were laughable. We honestly wondered if we would ever solve our leaky roof problem. Beams Roofing returned our call promptly, sent a contractor very soon thereafter, provided a reasonable estimate, and performed the work on time and to our satisfaction. We had a deluge of rain recently, and I honestly expected to have to get the buckets out again. Not a drop fell, in our kitchen or anywhere inside the house. I highly recommend Beams Roofing. They are prompt, reliable and reasonable. Fingers crossed I won't have to call them again, but I won't hesitate to call them for any other roofing issues we may have.
Wes was the most professional of all that came out to inspect and quote this roofing job. I called only personal referrals from friends. Once I decided to use Beams, he called me to be put on the schedule.
The team showed up on time and worked until it was done. These guys didn't goof around one bit. Brad came out several times to check on the progress. The job was complete and Brad did one last walk by to look for nails or debris.
I was very pleased with Beams Roofing.
Brad was exceptionally professional. On-time, called with updates, and inspected all work with me. After3-4 estimates, they weren't the cheapest price, but the overall professionalism from everyone at Beam's convinced me to go with them. They've done 2 jobs and I am very pleased with their work. Highly recommend.

We suffered through trying to work with several other roofing contractors before we found Beams. The other contractors were either way overpriced, too cheap (and sketchy), or didn't bother to keep our appointments. In contrast, Beams was reliable, easy to work with, and quoted us a fair price right from the start. They did a great job replacing our roof, we love it, and are very happy to have worked with Beams!
Beam's installed our roof several years ago. They did a great job and addressed all my issues. I recently had an issue with my plumbing and had to replace the plumbing vent pipe (which protrudes through the roof). The plumbers noticed the lead boot on the roof needed attention. I called Beam's immediately and he remembered me right away. We discussed the issue and determined it was a warranty issue. He sent a worker out the next day and fixed it. I was very pleased.
