I got 4 estimates- all varied widely for a number of solutions I was considering. Decided to go with Beech Grove Electric for a number of reasons. First off, when I spoke to him on the phone, he was informative and not demenaing. Second, when he provided in person estimate, I happened to have another contractor here working on something else. He said I likely could save myself several hundreds of dollars by having contractor do the work instead of him. Thirdly, he was honest about what he could and could not do. Given that the 2 companies I had it narrowed to were close in price, I went with Beech Grove Electric because he was honest. I did not feel he was trying to "up-sell" me on anything and his price was competitive. PLus- he does the work himself. He was on time and finished the job on time. Aside from a stray screw, I could not tell he had been to my home working for 2 days. I would use him again and will recommend to others looking for an electrician.

Bid was competitive; he was honest (had another contractor here when he gave bid and he said contractor could do the same job for several hundred dollars less); he did not try to "up-sell" any devices or services. PLus he did the work himself. He was on time and finished in the time frame stated. Aside from 1 stray screw, could not tell he had been in my home working for 16 hours. I will use in the future, as well as recommend to anyone looking for an honest, conscientious electrician. <br />

He showed up time, called ahead and gave me a time he would be here. Quite punctual. He was informative and made sure to clean up once the job was completed. He explained the entire project before he started the job. I have used them in the past and will use them in the future.

Replaced GFI outlet and checked outdoor outlet.  Advised on possible future service.  It was a pleasure to deal with an honest and professional electrician.  Highly recommended.

It went extremely well.  Kenny arrived right on time, did the work in about an hour and a half and charged me less than his estimate. <br />

The workers did just as they said they would (called about 50 minutes before arrival, performed the job and cleaned up all in about an hour.  I now can turn on the bathroom light without the fan and vice versa. <br />

They were on time, professional, called in advance, cleaned up after themselves and friendly. I will hire them again in the future and happy they offered a senior discount.

May want to ask if there is a minimum charge before you book the work. I didn't see any mention of it on the Angie's List website, unless I was to infer that the company charges by the job meant there is a minimum fee, and I'm sorry I didn't ask.  The $175 charge took into account the $50 Angie's List Coupon.  For reportedly approximately 30 minutes of work I think this charge is too much.  Also there was a fine layer of dust on the counter and lots of finger prints on the mirror just below the light fixture.  I admit to being a bad housekeeper, but I know it was a result of the work done, not my poor skills.  On the positive side the work was done the same day as the request for service was made.  I couldn't be present when the repair was made so a friend of mine took care of getting the provider to my home and letting him in. She reported that he is a nice gentleman and this day had an assistant with him.  Given the rate charged, I don't know that I'd use this company again without first getting an estimate. <br />

Professional, detailed, helpful hints. Told us what was needed, gave us our paperwork and rescheduled a date to be done.

This was the first time that this was done in over 20 years. They were on time, friendly, and of course professional. They were very reasonably priced. He called the day before and 20 minutes ahead of time. I would highly recommend this company to anyone!

He put in a lamp pole and installed a new socket. He was excellent. I would hire them again.

The technician Troy showed up 30 minutes after I called.  He found all the shorts and problems with the breaker and outlets and had 47 years of experience.
