Ben Burris Paving

We really appreciated working with the guys at Ben Burris Paving for a new asphalt driveway at our residence. Ben Jr. stopped by personally and was very thorough in explaining the process of the total paving project and made me aware of advantages of doing the job right this first time for many years of trouble free performance. He prepared a proposal and followed up with me in a timely fashion, very professional. When we agreed to move forward, he kept me in the loop as far as schedule and weather permitting. Ben Sr. and sons did an excellent job and we are completely satisfied! They were extremely careful around our new stone paver walkway as well. You can tell they have many years of experience and know their trade. They are up front and honest. The new driveway adds so much to the curb appeal and it looks like we have a new house. Wonderful! We were scheduling for after roof replacement, so driveway work dependent on weather for roof guys. They couldn't have been more understanding & accommodating. Really nice group of guys came in, did the job, & cleaned up well. I delayed review, then forgot : ) It's been a year & driveway still looks fantastic! They were not the cheapest estimate I got, not the most expensive. But a solid, long term company that did good work right when we needed it done. What more can you ask!?!

I called and spoke with Ben, Jr. and was able to schedule for a free quote. Our driveway was chipping asphalt in many places so it needed to be resurfaced. Ben came out explained what needed to be done and what they would do and gave me a quote. He said they would excavate 3-4 feet from the edge of the garage door in the driveway and about 1-2 feet from the end of the asphalt of the driveway to the apron of our driveway. The quote came in line with another quote I got and lower than one other. I decided to go with Ben Burris because Ben, Jr. was able to take the time to explain exactly and how they would do the job. We did have some problems with his phone with not being able to leave a voice mail but he did called me right away anyway. The day of the job, Ben called me to say that they need to get into my garage so they could excavate the 3-4 feet of asphalt from the end of the garage door down the driveway. He never mentioned that he needed access to the garage and I was at work. Luckily, I was able to get my son to come over to open the garage for him. When I got home they were wrapping up. The driveway looked beautiful and I was very pleased with the job. When they say they will put 3-4 inches of new asphalt and compressed it down, they were not kidding. My driveway got a lift. They sloped the access from the driveway to the walkway and sidewalks. Ben said that I could pull into the garage in 1-2 days and will take at least 5 days to park the SUV on it as long as we don't turn the wheels while stationary. In about a week the asphalt should have cured completely and there are no restrictions. For extra precaution, we did not park on the driveway for exactly one week. I did pull into the garage after 2 days. There was a tire mark on the driveway after one week but Ben said that it was probably due to the oil from the asphalt that made the mark from the tire and should eventually disappear or lightened as the oil from the asphalt fades away. He said he would come by to take a look and would contact me if he thought it would be a problem so that they could come out and fix it. A couple of days later, it was hard to see the tire mark so I guess it was cosmetic. I waited at least a week to write the review because we were going to get several inches of rain and I wanted to see how well the rain runs down the driveway and not puddle. After a week of rain, everything was fine. I would definitely recommend Ben Burris Paving. Thanks Ben.

Ben Burris Paving was fantastic to work with. They contacted me 10 minutes after I submitted the online estimate request and, since they were already doing work in the area, were at my house less than an hour later to evaluate the job and give me an estimate. Even thought they were very backed up with work due to the recent poor weather conditions, they managed to squeeze me in within the two week window I was hoping for. The driveway came out great and they spent a lot of time making sure it was level and water flowed off it properly even though I think it required them to use quite a bit more asphalt than originally expected.

Brilliant, Superior service provider. I sent an inquiry for an estimate fearing I'd get turned down yet again because I didn't need a full driveway resurfacing but multiple patch jobs on a pipestem driveway I share with 3 other difficult neighbors. The driveway is in bad shape but we're getting ready to list our home for sale and the driveway had several truly bad spots that needed patching but all previous paving companies I called said the job was too small. Ben Burris paving not only responded to my inquiry within 24 hours, they were friendly, professional, and able to help me if I was able to be flexible and could wait a couple of weeks until they were in our area with other projects. I was thrilled, I was immediately assured that my job was not too small, that there was no such thing in their business minds, and that they were more than happy to help us with our odd project request. Ben Burris remained in constant contact checking in to let me know their schedule status. The crew showed up on the arranged day (barely 2 weeks after my initial inquiry) and worked the entire afternoon on removing old crumbling and cracked asphalt on a 40 year old driveway in 5 spots, leaving clean areas that were then filled, smoothed, and sealed. End result is the driveway looks AMAZING! and I am beyond thrilled to highly recommend this company. Professional, skilled, polite, efficient, superior company in every way possible. If I owned the entire driveway myself, I'd hire them in a heartbeat to redo the entire thing.

Excellent! They got there early ready to work. Assessed the current situation, Explained what they were going to do and started to work. The driveway looks good and is much easier to drive up to the garage. Family owned business and very friendly. They are very detailed and make sure the job is done right. Would definitely recommend them.

They do a great job, it’s just better have a contract prior to working because the prices go up.  They do superb work.  I don’t have a complaint when they finished the job, it was just the year and a half it took to contact me and do the job, and it was the price raise. Halfway through the job the price went up.

Superior service (driveway edging and prep; blowing off all debris; very even application of sealer via large squeegee); thick sealcoat product filled in all the crannies and has greatly improved the driveway appearance; quick drying.  Significant lower cost than a competitor bid.

Their proposal contained excellent details and attention to detail and quality of work performed are of the highest quality and standard.

I contacted Ben Burris after several recommendations from the neighborhood message board. It's a father and sons operation. Ben's son Ben came out at the agreed upon date and time. Ben was very personable and listened to what I wanted to have done. Before he left he was able to quote me a price and followed up within a day with a written cost and contract. On the day of service, they arrived on time. They dug up the area to the specified width. However once the area was dug up we could see a better view of the existing driveway. The existing driveway was a little less than half the depth that the addition was going to be. We did a closer inspection of the existing driveway,. Some areas around the edges were crumbling and cracks were beginning to form throughout. It was apparent a bad patch job had been performed to make the driveway look presentable. I just purchased the home just 7 months ago. My job changed from widening the driveway to demolition of the existing driveway and installation of a new wider driveway. They were still able to complete the work in the original 2 day time frame. .Ben was very meticulous about how the finished driveway looked. When the job was complete they cleaned the area so well there wasn't even chunks of clay dirt in the grass. They provided instructions on when I could park on the driveway and time table to have driveway sealed for maintenance. It was such a positive experience I will be using Ben Burris for the maintenance.

We could not be more happier with Ben Burris Paving and all the workers. They were willing to work with us on all our last minute adjustments and went above and beyond of what was required of them to complete the job. They are honest and very professional. We did not have to feel like we had to supervise their work at all. And the results? Our driveway looks better than expected. All our neighbors are giving us thumbs up. They even did all the edges by hand. Our walkway to the house was very high and we didn't think it was possible to bring the driveway up to the same level BUT Ben Burris Paving worked around all our challenges and were able to meet it perfectly. Beautiful work! The inspector commented on how our driveway now looks better than the road in front of our house. We would hire them again in a flash and recommend them to all our friends! This company is simply wonderful. After getting bids from several contractors, I decided to go with Ben for all the right reasons -- best quote, most comprehensive work plan, and reliability. The driveway looks beautiful -- everything done to perfection -- and it was such a pleasure working with a top-of-the-line, extremely professional and friendly company. I would highly recommend them without hesitation.

Very well. Excellent workmanship, well-crafted slope to the driveway (on a hill) to promote good drainage. Once the old driveway was dug up, it was evident that a deeper base was needed, but was given a heads up about this beforehand, and although it added to cost it all went well.

It went really well.  The driveway was done in 2 days and they worked very hard.  The father and both sons worked the driveway.  We were very impressed.  I only wish I new there was a 5% discount for Angie's List customers.  But I would recommend them for anyone in the future.  Really great!  Also, our neighbor had his done but the same company years ago and it looks great.  They also added a lip for the front garden so that the mulch won't flow down into the driveway with rain. <br /> <br />
