Went fine. However Google does not list the Same phone number that is on your business card. Well the manager was extremely nice, They absolutely never answer the phone and they have no voicemail. I find that extremely unprofessional and will look for someone else

I couldn't find a place to get my two lighting pieces fixed.  I found a wonderful electrician on Angie's list who did some work for me and he recommended Benko to do my specialized work on these lamps. <br /> I dropped off the two items at Benko on December 13, 2014. <br /> I got a call on December 19 that the light bridge was finished and ready for pickup. <br /> I got a call on February 25, 2015 that the torchiere with its new glass lampshade was ready. <br /> It took a while longer for the hand-made glass lampshade. In addition to crafting an entirely new lampshade, Benko improved the stability of the lamp base which was wobbly and added some weight to it. <br /> Considering the craftsmanship and how busy they are with custom work, I had no problem waiting a little longer for the new glass lampshade. <br /> They did a fantastic job and the end product is a result of classic, old-world European craftsmanship. <br /> You can always find a workman to do a job.  But finding a craftsman is an entirely different challenge. <br /> These lamp repairs were in line with my price expectations.  It would have cost me a lot more to replace them with the kind of quality I wanted. <br /> My husband has a pair of brass candlesticks his grandmother bought at an antique shop in the 1950's.  The owner at Benko very generously took a lot of time to talk with him about the pieces that had become dark and pitted over time, how they may have come to be in such a sorry state, what it would take to restore them, and offered a good education about the crafting and the care of different kinds of metal work. <br /> The couple who owns Benko Lamps are warm and personable.  They are passionate about what they do and justifiably proud of their skill and the business they built.  While I was there picking up my lamps, there were other residential customers like myself, a commercial customer, and a lighting designer waiting. <br /> I would recommend Benko Lamps in the blink of an eye and will return if I find I have any specialized lighting needs. <br />

Mr. and Mrs. Benko have been repairing lamps for me since they were located on 79th Street. There is NO ONE in the Chicagoland area like them. Mr. Benko is truly a craftsman. He and his wife know every intricate detail. They will help you find the perfect shade shape, material, and color. If you want your lamp brought back to perfection, there is no one who can match Benko. They have actually even fabricated new shades for me. Everything they have done for me has been, without question, exceptional!

<br /> <br /> While I was waiting, another customer came in to pick up some lamp shades that had been re-covered in silk.  The workmanship was top-notch.  Yet another customer came in with questions about the restoration of an elaborate chandelier; the owner spent a lot of time discussing the work that would be needed and gave personal attention to that customer - as he had done with me and my little repair job.  I would trust them with any work needed to be done on any lamp.

I am well pleased with Benko and the customer services provided by the owner and Rosemarie.  I will definitely recommend and use them for other lamp repair.  The company repairs lamps and chandeliers and you can purchase new lighting fixtures.  The new fixtures are all creative and unique.  Items you won't find anywhere else.  I would definitely recommend to anyone.

They repaired the lamp while I waited, which did not take long. Once the repair was completed the owner had his employee carry the lamp to my car. Benko has a great selection of lamps and I will go back to purchase lamps in the future. The owner took the time to talk about his products and how they can customize lamps for you.

Rosemary was wonderful and helped me select the appropriate materials for the shade I needed repaired (actually I ended up having them re-do the shade completely). She understood that the shade is a cherished possession of mine and had materials to re-create the original look of it, but improved! The work was done quickly and came out beautifully. Another lamp of mine was re-wired, which is relatively standard but also done very quickly. In fact, for the re-wiring she offered to have it done while I waited since I had to drive pretty far out of my way to get to the store. If the store wasn't as far away from my home/work (I'm in Downers Grove, the store is in Bridgeview, about 40 minutes away), I would definitely bring back some additional lamps I have that need to be re-wired. For certain, if I have a delicate or special job I need done, I will drive out of my way to get it done properly at Benko!

They are Factory Authorized Service for Rembrandt and Stiffel Lamps. All of their work is done in house, including the making of the lampshades. The workmanship is wonderful, and the lamps look like new.
