My husband took a 15 x 30 foot pool down and the land needed landscaping and dirt added. The owner Mike from Berkeley was really great coming and at listening to what we wanted done on the land. He called us the next day. The estimate and contract was ready to be read on email. We decided since we had a couple of folks not get back with us since they were so busy, we would take them. We were surprised when he said he had the week of 4th of July free. We took it. They removed and stored some retaining wall blocks on site. They removed some existing wood decking/posts/ and retaining walls. They had a excellent crew that worked on this project. They removed and disposed of 6 shrubs. We had a 30 yard dumpster delivered one day prior of the project to put all the stuff in. They did grading, delivered and supplied 7 tandem loads of soil. Also they seeded and put straw on area upon completion. This project took 2 days instead of 3 to complete. The only thing that I didn't like was that my husband took down some of the fencing down, decking and picked up some of the bricks to store in the area of the backyard. We were told that we would get some money off the project if he did this. We didn't. The project did turn out nicely even with the price we paid. Mike and his team were very professional. I would recommend them.

The workmanship on the patio, walkway, and steps was excellent. However when additional follow up details were identified, there was no response from the contractor in spite of numerous contact attempts by us. If you choose to use this company stay on top of work and proceed with caution.

On the plus side, they are very professional, flexible and the quality was reasonably good. I liked the sales guy very much, he had good suggestions, and we hired him partly due to his experience with the specific sod we elected to install, Zeon zoysia. The other bidder did not have any experience with that grass. For general landscaping projects, they would likely do a good job for you. However, my rating reflects a few things I wasn't completely happy with. First, one of my top priorities in my project was to fix how rain was pooling on my patio because it was lower than the ground around it. i was clear that the backyard had to be re-graded to run water away from the patio. The sales guy didn't communicate clearly to the crew about that, and they had to take up the sod they had just laid to change the grading for a section. It still isn't how I envisioned and expected it, but we'll see if their "fix' will work. Second, part of the hardscaping was not to my liking. Perhaps I watch too much HGTV, but I expected some type of design on paper to see beforehand. That didn't happen, and consequently I end up with a couple things I would have changed had I known it beforehand. But it would have been too much trouble to find a different way to do it, so I am having to live with it. Had I seen that on paper or screen beforehand, it would not have been built that way. Finally, during the sales review before selecting them, I clearly said I wanted a plastic construction fence around the sodded area to keep my dogs off of it. The crew was not informed of it and consequently not equipped to put it up when they finished. These guys seemed to be pretty good in general, but if you are discerning and detailed, if you use them you had better be very specific about what you want or don't want, and make sure you watch and ask questions all along the way as work progresses.

Berkeley Design was very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. The crew did an excellent job and cleaned up all debris afterwards. I would highly recommend Berkeley Design to anyone.

Mike Turkovick, is easy to work with. The overall quality of the work is about 3.5. I think his work crew are a bit less than professional. Had to have them come back to complete part of the job. They covered the water meter with mulch that had to be removed so the city could read the meter. Still pending them eliminating the weed on part of the project property. So the jury is sort of still out overall. I have sought to give them the opportunity to maintain the fedding and weeding schedule on the property.

Mike is really nice, and aims to please. He has great design ideas, and they are carried out well. I can't speak to the fairness of the price other than that he was about the same or less than two others. His team turned my yard from an embarrassment to something that I love. I only had enough money for part of the yard, looking forward to hiring him to do the rest at some point.

MIKE and his team very professional. prompt and went right to work and included me in their process. i had trim weed and seed, and mew mulch completed for a very reasonable price to boot.

They came out right away and did an excellent job. They even added a plant we hadn't planned on!

At this point I have had limited experience with the Berkeley Design Group. I have just hired Mike to do a small landscape renovation to my backyard. So far I have found him to be responsive in a timely manner, knowledgeable, and easy to work with.

Was very quick to respond to my request from Service Magic. Showed up on time. Very professional. Fair price for the work requested. We hired them. They showed up when they said they would show. They performed the work quickly. So far I am very pleased with them.

The Berkeley Design Group was wonderful to work with. Mike is very knowledgeable about local conditions and gave us a great landscaping design that we can work with that included hardscape and wonderful flowerbeds.

Mike returned all calls and emails promptly, arrived on time for meetings, and provided an awesome plan to turn our ugly side yard into something beautiful we will enjoy for years. We can't wait to get started on this project. Thanks Mike!
