Zero stars. This review is to warn anyone against hiring this guy. Please do not waste your hard earned money. So called contractors like Gabriel Bernal, or Bernal’s Construction Inc. Should not be allowed to use a platform like this, part of the frustrating process of Angi’s. He’s dishonest and won’t show up on time, nor finish a single thing agreed upon, let alone properly. He is not skilled, experienced or qualified. He cannot hire any help because he cannot afford it. Please avoid and look for someone else.

If I could give this contractor a zero, I would. I would not recommend this contractor to anyone. He lacks honesty and integrity. He gave us a verbal estimate. His first day on the job, he claimed he left contract at his home. We made the mistake of allowing him to start the work without the contract. Three days later, we asked for the written contract, his prices then doubled. He claimed that he now had to separate each job. As the work progressed everything costs extra. He was constantly asking for more money upfront. He had not completed the bathroom renovation and insisted that we provide him with 50% down for the kitchen demolition work to be done. We asked him to finish the bathroom first. When we refused to give him 50% down for the kitchen demolishing work, he walked away from the completing the bathroom renovation, although he was given most of the money upfront for the bathroom renovation. My mom had open heart surgery and now has to go to second floor because the bathroom on the first floor was not completed. I feel he low balls the job and then when he gets the job, does the demolishes, he then doubles the prices. The leveling work he did on the floor already cracked in multiple places, the wire mesh and roofing nails he used on the flooring are popping up.
