My basement drain was backing up and draining very slowly. What should have been a straightforward process (pull toilet, maybe camera, clean drain, re-install toilet) turned in to a 4 day ordeal, requiring 3 visits. The issue was incorrectly diagnosing the problem twice -- first he thought is was a vent issue, then he thought it was a septic tank issue. This caused a lot of extra, unnecessary work for me. Ty's attitude on the 3rd trip was definitely different than the first 2, and not in a good way. After the drain was finally cleaned out on the 3rd trip and the toilet re-installed, the toilet hold-down screws were left way too long for the plastic covers -- a detail that should have been taken care of. Ty seems like a good guy, but after my experience, I have to question his knowledge and diagnostic abilities. On the bright side, his prices are more than reasonable and he responded quickly when I called him.

Ty was wonderful. He returned my call within minutes and was able to come out that evening t deal with the immediate problem of the leak. He removed the wet drywall and cleaned up the damage, as well as the room he worked in. When he was finished for the night, the space was clean instead of covered in drywall dust. He arranged to come back to complete the repair a week later - the delay was in part to let the damaged area fully dry and in part my own schedule. He came back on the scheduled day, on time, and replaced my shower floor and completed the repair. It looks fantastic! <br /> Ty is professional, polite, and a very nice guy. He does great work, is honest with his quotes, explains the problem, and was patient with my questions. His sub-contractors were also polite, professional, and did great work. I highly recommend Ty and will call him again if I ever need any help with plumbing. <br />

We noticed a puddle of water under our sink Saturday morning. We gave Ty a call and he was out within 45 minutes. He found the problem with the supply lines, had replacements on his truck, and suggested a different kind to use to avoid this sort of problem in the future. He was very professional and in and out very quickly. <br />

Mr. Crawford was on time and went right to work looking into why there was a wet spot on the floor. In minutes he found it was coming from a near by toilet uptake and also that the toilet tank was cracked. He went to get a new toilet and was back in the amount of time he said he would be gone. Replaced toilet and cleaned up in about 40 minutes. Which is fast in my book! He is very personable and does quality work. It's nice to have found a plumber who does what he says, reasonably priced, and is close to where I live. Thank you very much for your work! <br />

This was a non-emergency plumbing issue and the second time we have called on Ty to help us.. Even tho' it wasn't a serious problem, when I called Ty, he came out right away. This was especially helpful to us as we were scheduled to have the carpets cleaned the next morning and would have had to delay the plumbing repair for several days if he couldn't fix it right away. <br /> Ty had all the parts needed with him and he replaced all the stuff that needed replaced in the toilet. He even found and fixed another problem we didn't even know we had. <br /> Ty is a highly experienced and skilled plumber, who from our experience, is very reliable. We trust him with both big and small projects in our home anytime. <br />

As always, he showed up on time, was very friendly and knowledgeable. It took him about 2 hours total to complete what needed to be done. There were a couple of options to solve my problem and he thoroughly explained each one and helped me make the best decision given the situation and my availability of funds. <br /> Ty is always quick to return my calls and is very helpful. Even when it is a little thing that does not require a service visit, he can give me advice over the phone. He is fantastic to work with, takes pride in doing it right and my go to guy for plumbing issues. <br />

"[member name removed] sorry that you feel you were lied too or stolen from, but you applied for charity work to be done on your home due to the fact you could not afford to fix it yourself. In all contracts that all of us contractors sign to do work for MHO at a discounted price states that we are to take all debris and construction material with us or we will not get paid. you had less than 5lbs of scrap metal and copper combined removed from you home. yes you did talk to someone at MHO and they told you that they did not care as long as i said it was o.k but you asked them after i was done and left your property. when i did come back for another issue through MHO and you asked about it i told you it was not on my truck and the rules i have to go by.i then told you they said you used up all your allowance on what was done to you 70's model trailer and well system, that you have to try other charities,then you got mad and said something under your voice. all products used were and are currently approved by the state of North Carolina plumbing board as well as any where in the United States. i did not lie to you or steal,defraud you in anyway. this is why non profit organization have iron clad contracts so if a contractor was to do something other than the contract states people like you cannot sue them or blemish their names like you are doing to my company. You may not lie but you are surly mistaken."

Water was gushing all over the place in the evening. They started immediately at 9:40 PM, hand dug the line and service box. Installed a new cutoff and repaired the line. Installed a cutoff with the water meter box and installed a post. It was an 81/2 hour job in the dark. I was extremely pleased with the work. If they didn't jump right on this job, my water bill would have probably far exceeded the repair. <br />

The toilet in our guest cabin plugged up and we couldn't get it flowing. Called Best Value Sewer and Drain Cleaning around 5pm and Mr Crawford came right out. We live out in the country and he had to come from an hour away. He knew exactly what to do based on the type of fixture we had. He had everything back in business right away and our out of town guests didn't have to move to the house. <br />

Ty solved the problem by putting in a new, wider drain for the washing machine and arrange to use the old one for a calcifier which neutralizes the acid water rom he well. It is a low crawl space and not easy to work in but it was fixed and works well now. <br />

He is prompt and when there is an emergency, will come right away. A <br /> pressure tank blew off my hot water heater and caused a minor flood in <br /> the basement. I closed the shut off valve and called him (on a Sunday <br /> night - that's when these problems tend to occur!). He called back <br /> right away and came first thing the next morning. He analyzed and <br /> fixed the problem quickly. He explains issues well. I've spent over <br /> $400 on various repairs he has completed and feel his prices are <br /> reasonable and his work is very good. He will handle simple as well as <br /> complex jobs and searches for a solution that is economical. <br />

Ty Crawford came out the next day after my call and had it fixed with in 2 hours. It only took an additional hour due to the fact that he had to leave and go find a special part. Ty was very friendly and professional and fixed the problem. <br />

I was having issues with my hot water not staying a steady temperature so after looking up information on the internet, I thought I might have a mixing valve problem. So I tried turning my mixing valve but couldn't turn it by hand nor with tools. While trying to turn the mixing valve, I also noticed that my pressure-relief valve was occasionally dripping water. I called Ty late on 1/10/2013 and although he was busy, told me that he would try to fit me into his schedule the next day (1/11/2013). He came out and checked my water pressure and it was way too high - my pressure regulator was on its last legs. After doing a few more tests, Ty said I needed to replace my mixing valve too. He quoted me $500 for the job. He didn't have the parts he needed on hand so he told me he'd at least fix the pressure regulator on the same day. He ended up coming back the next day (on a Saturday) with a new mixing valve and installing it. My water pressure is at normal levels now and the hot water stays hot so I'm a satisfied customer. And I'd like to add that I was asking him questions the whole time and he took the time to educate me on everything I asked about. As usual, it was a very positive experience.

The hot water heater portion of my Apollo Hydroheat system was having problems. Due to the severity of the issues I decided to buy a replacement hot water heater instead of trying to repair the old one (that was nearly 10 years old). I have used Ty Crawford before on a few other jobs and he has always been courteous, informative, punctual, and produces quality work. <br /> I called Ty on the evening of October 31st to tell him I needed a replacement water heater for my Apollo Hydroheat system. I contacted him again the following day and he determined that there was a compatible water heater in stock at his supplier. He quoted me a price for the job that was cheaper than another quote I had received. He asked me if I would like him to come out the same day and I eagerly said yes because I had no heat in the house at the time. <br /> Ty showed up with a fellow worker in the late afternoon with the replacement water heater. It turns out that the pipes running from the old Apollo Hydroheat water heater were located in a different spot on the tank compared to the new one. Also, the height of the new tank was a little different so the vent had to be extended. So Ty had to do some extra work to get everything to fit together properly. After more than 4 hours of work, they finished and I paid him the fee that I was quoted on the phone (even though the work took much longer than originally thought). <br /> Seeing as how I was fairly desperate to get the heat running again in the house, and seeing as how the job had him at my house til 9pm in the evening, I would have expected to pay much more for his services. I told him that I felt like I was taking advantage of him but he said he quoted me a price and that's what I should pay. <br /> I have only had very positive experiences with Ty Crawford and will continue to use him for all my plumbing issues. <br /> <br />

Ty was the first to respond to my emails through Angie's List for my plumbing project. I had only two other people even reply out of about 12 emails I sent. I knew when he came to my house to look at the job that he was thorough and very knowledgable. I had an instant trust in his character and workmanship, but I obtained other bids because I was encouraged to do so. The other men didn't compare to Ty in any way. I am so thankful I was fortunate enough to have Ty do the bathroom conversion because I know the job was done right and I was not over charged. <br />

It did not go well. The outside bibs were replaced successfully when the water was turned off, but leaked later. The leak in the master bath was difficult to find and Mr. Crawford did not really know what he was doing. He caulked areas that did not fix the leak, using material that cannot be removed. He removed the faucet, and chipped away the bath tile to reseat it. That did not fix the problem either. In doing so, he broke the old shower diverter and said he could not replace it without replacing the whole faucet and shower head. Overall, it was shoddy work. He took hours to get the work done and then did not honor the Angie's list coupon I had printed out, stating that I needed to have told him up front.

"sorry once again you feel that way, you had a bad tile job and i told and showed you that, as well as old problematic plumbing fixtures. i tried to help you out as much as i could and did not charge you. you said you have had real bad issues with Males Contractors in the past and i told you that i would try to help ease that issue. the problems you had was not from me or my company and you wanted as cheap as possible, and when i told you again that you needed a new valve and tile repair, you just started yelling and crying and told me to get out of your home,you said you thought i was not helping you solve your issues. i still came back to try to help you. when i left that same night that you threw me out and after fixing all your plumbing issues you seemed happy and like i said before i did not charge you. as far as the leak on your hose bibb i also advised you not to leave a hose connected to it during cold weather as it will freeze and break or start leaking. i hoped that i would never get stuck with a client like you again and so thats been going well, its not about the bad report or the lie's you wrote. it's about haveing a strange person in mid conversation start yelling and crying at you when your only trying to help. thank you for not ever calling me again."
