We got the estimate and a proposed date to start. Due to other jobs they had to delay us a few days but called us often to let us know how it looked for our job. These are a great group of guys, from the estimator to the workers. Polite, on time, hard working, cleaned up after themselves. Why would you go anywhere else. Thanks Guys. Now I can't wait for it to rain.

It went very well, they were very professional and kind and helped answer any questions I had. They did a good job on explaining what and why they were doing things and could tell they had pride in their work. Would Definitely recommend them to anyone needing work done.

Circumstances with my basement caused them to do a system that they hadn't done before. Had some leaks that caused some reworking.

Our basement had 3 clay brick walls that were crumbling and one good wall that was rebuilt in the 1980's. We original went with a very well known local basement company that seemed professional. They came out to our house November of 2014 to give us an estimate. They said we needed to replace 2 walls and brace the 3rd. We were quoted about $36,000 for the work. We scheduled the work for April because the work can't be completed in the winter. When they came back late Feb 2015 to start the job, I was told that they no longer brace clay brick because it doesn't really work. Instead they would need to replace the 3rd wall and that would be an additional $15,000 o the original quote. Of course, I was not happy about this sudden change in both their recommendation and increased costs. I lost confidence in that company and called about 10 other basement places for quotes. Most of the companies were not able to do the work because it was too big of a job. Better Basements' quote was around $30,000 to replace 3 foundation walls and install a sump pump. The owners and crew were very professional. The work was completed correctly and on-time. There was one surprise during demolition when we discovered a bump out on the first floor was just floating. They had to add more footings to support this so the price went up by a couple thousand. I thought this was fair. The new basement is dry and stable.
Installation completed satisfactorily. Only surprise to me was that the portion of the water trek that sits above the cement floor wasn't flat against the basement wall. Not really an issue but not as clean of a look as I thought it would be
We truly enjoyed working with better basements and spoke to many other foundation companies before deciding to move forward with better basements. We met with Reo of Better basements first and they recommended replacing one of the clay block walls that was starting to buckle at the bottom and had many cracks. Although they install waterproofing systems and our basement could use one, they did not push them on us which many would do. They were able to squeeze our job in between other jobs and were able to completely demo a wall and put a new one up within 3 days. The workers were very friendly and professional and took very few breaks. We are extremely impressed with the end result as well as this companies ability to communicate with us. They were available at a moments notice through not only phone calls but texting and were quick to respond to any missed calls. We would definitely recommend this company to others.
The work was completed in one day. The crew was courteous and tried to minimize the dust generated by the process of cutting out the basement wall, to accept the new window, and installing the braces. Very satisfied with the results.
Our outside drainage tile failed and we started getting some water in our basement in the spring of 2013. We contacted Better Basement Technologies LLC and liked what we heard and decided to book them. The wait was a bit longer then we wanted, but they did explain that to us ahead of time. Job went well. They came a week ahead of schedule which was fine.Whole
job was finished in about 5 days. That includes concrete drying, drywall, baseboards and plumbing. The main installation only took one day. Had a few minor issues that happened. But they were on top of it right away and fixed the issues. Everyone we had contact with was friendly and informative. Not sure if the price was right, never had this type of work done before. I am happy with the work that was done. Also if your basement is finished you need to get all your belongings out, because of the dust factor and be prepared to replace any carpet. Once it gets pulled up from the floor and the all the dust from the concrete it is just not worth keeping. I gave three A's and Three B's and since I can not pick in between grades I gave an overall of a B, but I really wanted to give an A-. Great work overall

The crew was very professional, arrived on time or early, and work was completed as described. When unexpected things were encountered along the way, they were good about explaining the issues and working with me on a solution. (Example, I chose to add to the cost so the plumbers could fix additional items they discovered were not done to code) The one problem I was surprised wasn't found before they even started was that the grade of my land prevented them from having the water exit out front into a bubbler. It didn't affect the cost, but I would have appreciated knowing ahead of time.
Two basement (cement block) walls had cracks that ran horizontally and about two feet below ground level. During wet conditions these cracks tended to open wider as the walls slightly bowed inwards. During dry conditions these cracks closed as the walls returned to (almost) normal vertical position. There was no water problems but the cracks were aggravating. Better Basements recommended the power braces in order to prevent the condition from getting any worse and to keep the walls from seasonal bowing.
The cost was less than estimates involving "earth anchors".
The work was done according to estimate and without any delays or rescheduling. The entire process took about five hours. The crew was friendly and explained the process as they went along.

Overall, I would give this operation a D. I only hired this company because they said they could do the installation last fall. After I signed the contract, I waited for them to start. When nothing had happened and no communication by about Nov. 1, I called and they said they would start the first of December. When nothing had happened and no communication by Dec. 15, I called and they said they would be starting soon. Finally i did get a call Jan. 10 saying they had started excavating for the piers that morning. I went over to see the operation ( I live about 10 miles away) but they were just getting ready to leave after finishing the excavation. I asked when the installation would be and they said that afternoon. When I went back later that afternoon, they were already gone and the yard looked sort of like a battlefield. Of course the ground was frozen and there were big frozen clods of ground piled here and there, with dirt piled up in spots and holes at other places around the foundation and dirt scattered around the yard. Since I had already paid them (they certainly communicated very well in demanding payment. Two phone calls the day after they finished, wanting payment and when I didn't immediately pay, another phone call the next morning and then one of the employees stopped by my house, supposedly to give me a warrantee (and they did give me one) but obviously to collect. I called this spring to ask if they were going to finish the job (smoothing the soil around the foundation and they acted surprised and said they would go look. Then later that day they called to say they had finished and that any thing else was strictly up to me without me getting to see what they had done, if anything.
This company may do a good job installing the piers but I have no way of knowing. I, of course, have no way of knowing if they even installed the piers since all I was able to observe was the piles of dirt they left behind. If they do do a good job of installation, I would think they need to do a much better job communicating with customers or they may not be in business in spite of the fact that they may do a good job of actually installing the piers. They never explained why it took them so long to finish the job or expressed any concern about the length of time it took. Certainly finishing a job on January 15 is not doing it in the fall and not communicating cannot be good for business. They certainly will never get any more business from me.
"Professional installations & the best in customer service is always the #1 priority of Better Basements! I would like to clear up some mis-information reported here: The person writing is not the home-owner, although we appreciate his help communicating with his son, who is the home-owner. It is stated that we were to begin installation in fall, although we didn't meet with the home owner until October & the contract wasn't signed until November. Well past fall. It was clearly explained that we would not begin at the time of signing, although we began just a month afterwards, which is very quick in this industry. Some companies take longer than that just for an initial appointment. When signing we request a deposit, which the home owner, Mark, didn't have an issue with & all final payments are due upon completion. Which is also clearly stated verbally & in our contracts. The home owner's father also expresses concern with our product & installation; our piering system is from Hubbell/Chance/Atlas who is a $3 Billion company, the largest piering manufacturer in the world & invented piering. In over 100 years of business they, or any of their certified installers, have never had a pier fail. That is very comforting to all of our customers! I am sorry that the home owner's father is not happy with our work, but I can guarantee that everything that goes on with any installation from landscaping, (which we do not do), to installation to collecting final payment clearly explained & conducted in a professional manner."

In the beginning, it was fine. The follow up was not good. They did not complete all of the services that they said they would. They left the house messy. They had good communication, but the follow up was an issue. The C rating I gave for quality was rated on the quality of the sub-contractors they used.

Excellent experience. They worked with me to come up with a solution, and did the work exactly as outlined. The installation crew was very professional and efficient. They took care to minimize the mess from an inherently messy job and did the work in a timely manner. Would definitely use them again if the need arose.

These guys are great. They came out and performed the job so well. I've never had a better experience. They provide a lifetime warranty that stays with the home. The previous home owners had water damage and mold was under my stairs to my basement and these guys cut it out and did a great job.
