This project was started in February 2015 and was completed in June 2016.
Clint Hansen represented the company initially in February 2015; he presented himself and the company as professional with a high-level of integrity. I was excited about the project and felt confident working with Portico so I signed the contract and paid the deposit, which was 35% of my original contract price ($4800). It all went down hill from there.
When I had not heard from Clint for several months about the progress of my project, I reached out to the owner of the company. No response. There was a front line employee that I spoke with whenever I called the company phone number; her name was Denissa. She was very nice and kept assuring me that she was giving him my messages. In July 2015 I earned from Denissa that a building permit had not yet been obtained. At that time, I was dealing with some health issues and could not add to my stress by continuing to pursue this project so I requested that my project be placed on hold temporarily. I still had not heard from Clint or the owner of the company. I decided that I did not want to pursue this project with Portico. I requested a refund. There continued to be no response to my phone calls or emails until August 18, 2015 when I received this email from Clint:
Sent: Tuesday, August 18, 2015 12:05 PM
To: Portico MN
Subject: Re: Portico MN Form Submission
Jennifer,
I apologize that no one has contacted you. I had delegated the phone call, but obviously that call was not made.
I am on vacation this week but I have put it on my calendar to call you Monday. Again, I apologize about the lack of response.
Clint
Sent from my Verizon 4G LTE Smartphone
----- Reply message -----
Subject: Portico MN Form Submission
Date: Tue, Aug 18, 2015 11:56 AM
Item of Interest: - Porches/Sunrooms
How should we contact you? - By Email
When Should I Contact You: -
Your Message: - Hi Clint, I know your time is limited and your services are in great demand, but I was hoping to have a follow-up discussion with you about my situation. I requested that my project be placed on hold for now because of health issues. I did not foresee these issues and I am terribly sorry for the inconvenience. Of course a refund for the monies I paid to your company is ideal for me, but I realize that your company has invested in my project and I would like to know what I have paid for up to this point. Is there something you can send me that itemizes the project expenditures? I would have preferred talking to you about my project, but I don't know what to think about the fact that you have not returned my calls from 8/14, 8/6, 7/23, 7/22, and 7/22. Please call me or reply to this email so that I may know my options for canceling or concluding this project. Thank you, Jennifer
____________
After the Clint returned from his vacation he did not call. I reached out to him via email repeatedly. I did not give up. We finally coordinated a time to meet and discuss options for my project. Clint and I met on September 12, 2015 and came to an agreement on a 6' x 10' patio cover, which is what Clint estimated will be a project that fits the cost of what I have already paid to Portico ($4800). Here is how the communication, or lack thereof, went from that point:
From: <jennifer>
Sent: Monday, December 28, 2015 9:20 AM
To: denissa@porticomn.com
Cc: Clint Hanson
Subject: FW: Portico MN Form Submission

Hi Denissa,

I have not heard from Clint since
October 25.

I reached out to him a few weeks ago.
Do you know if he is on vacation or if there is someone else who can assist me
with information about this project.

Thank you,

Jennifer

From: jennifer
To: clint@porticomn.com
Subject: RE: Portico MN Form Submission
Date: Mon, 28 Dec 2015 09:16:08 -0600
Clint,

When may I expect my project to be
completed?

Jennifer
From: jennifer
To: clint@porticomn.com
Subject: RE: Portico MN Form Submission
Date: Tue, 8 Dec 2015 13:50:34 -0600
Hello Clint,

I have not heard from you and I hope
that we can still get the project completed within the next week or two.
Please let me know the status of the project and what is causing the
delay.

Thank you,

Jennifer
From: jennifer
To: clint@porticomn.com
Subject: RE: Portico MN Form Submission
Date: Mon, 26 Oct 2015 08:58:14 -0500
Great!
