Guyaux Jr. Roofing was on time. Did a tremendous job on my roof. There was rotting wood underneath my old roof and they replaced it. There were absolutely no delays on anything.

Bernie was very helpful and knowledgeable about his field from day one. Of the 4 quotes we got Bernie was the only one to mention replacing the under laying wood. I know this comes at an additional cost, but it showed that he actually got up on the roof and inspected it before giving me an estimate. Personally, I'd rather know up front what my costs are going to be than to have surprises half way through a project. With Bernie the estimate was the cost at the end of the project and we were more than pleased with the work done. Very well. We called in February to ask for an estimate. The estimate was dropped off and the price was great. They said they would add us to the schedule and we would probably be done in June. At the end of May they called to say they would be in the next week. They came when scheduled. When they ran into extra work and had replace a lot of the plywood under the roof, they explained that there wasn't enough air flow and the moisture was staying in the crawl space and the wood had rotted. They replaced it which took an extra day to do and they did a careful professional job to see that the same issue would not happen again. The additional cost was very reasonable. I would use them again and would highly recommend them.

I contacted Mr. Guyaux for a quote to replace a 20+ year old roof that was losing shingles during windstorms. I was very pleased with the price I was quoted, so I decided to move forward. The crew arrived at approximately 7 AM on the day work was scheduled to begin and left somewhere between 3 and 4 PM. On day 2 they were there for about the same amount of time and at the end of day 2 the work was completed. On both days the crew left the property clean and free of debris, and I was very impressed both the quality of the work and the professionalism of the crew. The project couldn't have gone more smoothly. I would absolutely hire Mr. Guyaux and his crew again.

They were here from 18th to 20th. Excellent. It went very very well. The cleanup was wonderful. They cleaned up everything.

We originally called this company because of a word of mouth recommendation. Bernie came right away to give us our free estimate. After we compared several companies, we decided on Guyaux Roofing. They were about 4 weeks out, but we were in a position to wait due to the help of tarps on the roof. Two workers showed up promptly at 7a of the first day of work. The only request was for an outdoor power source. Only once through the process did they need access to the interior (we had to turn off power as we were getting a new attic fan installed, so they needed the breaker box). My husband works from home and he was quite impressed with the professionalism and ease of the accommodation. It took about 2.5 days to finish the whole roof. There were no hidden costs associated with the estimate. Everything was included in the estimate with exception of any replacement wood that would be needed (they wouldn't know how much until they got off the old shingles). It took about 2 days per response requested, so don't look for an immediate phone call after you leave a message. They do leave a sign in the yard for about a week, but we didn't mind as we were happy with the service. Overall we were very happy with the service.

I searched through Angie's List and found 5 "A" list contractors in my area. Of these, I received 3 priced proposals. I selected B Guyaux Roofing for their time in business (26 years), their workmanship warrantee (5 years), the product line they handle (Owens-Corning), the manufacturer's warrantee (lifetime), and a competitive price. I also got the impression of great competence and professionalism from Guyaux during the interview. It took a few weeks to get on Guyaux's schedule and there was some minor starting delay due to rain (it is Pittsburgh, after all), but once Guyaux set a start date, they actually started a day early. The job was forecast to need 3 full days, and that is exactly the time it took. The work crew appeared every morning at 7:00 am on the dot and worked continuously until 2:30 pm every day, except for a short break for lunch. The period 2:30 to 3:00 pm was used for job site cleanup, every day! The site was never abandoned while the job was underway. Guyaux supplied all new materials, all as per the job plan. They stripped the old roofing down to the decking, gathered up all the old materials and hauled them away. There was damage found to two deck sheets, which were removed and replaced for a trivial cost over the original price (I liked the fact that a forecast of damage-expected was not included in the original cost, which would just inflate the cost if no damage was actually found). I found that the new roofing materials are much better today than they were the last time we replaced the roof (35 years ago). For instance, roofers don't use tar paper anymore, instead, they use a fiberglass film that is much tougher, is waterproof, and doesn't degrade in the sun. As well, they use an ice blocker today which wasn't available back when. Also, the shingles are heavy duty fiberglass with less bitumastic (so you don't have tar bleeding out of the shingles in the summer), plus they are treated for mold prevention. In addition, the shingles are guaranteed to withstand 110 mph wind, which should be good in Pittsburgh. At the end of the job, Guyaux walked me around the house, pointing out what was done and how it was done, made sure I was happy with the finished job, accepted payment (note - no 1/3 upfront), did final cleanup of the site, and left me with a brand new roof. Yes, I would hire Guyaux roofing again, and I would recommend them to my friends.

After hiring Guyaux Roofing, they started job in a few weeks. They arrived early morning and worked until mid-afternoon. About four men worked daily until the job was completed. They cleaned-up each day before leaving. They were reasonably priced and completed work as contracted.

Perfect. Guys arrived before 7 AM on Monday, As scheduled. Worked straight through. Completed roof on first day. Returned and finished bay window and front stoop overhang early Tuesday. Patio furniture placed back. No tar, shingles or nail anywhere.

He returned my call right away. Was here two days later. Would of come sooner but weather was bad. He repaired the roof within a week of my first call. Pleasant to deal with, reasonably priced.

Good crew, came on time, worked until quitting time, did a great job of keeping the work area cleaned up each day. The finished product looks fantastic.
