I called them to clean my storm drain which was filled with soil. They looked at on Saturday, and came back on Monday to clean it. The person they sent said that they don't clean this kind of clogged drain, and left. I called and let company know that job was not done. The person answered the phone said that he has to snake it and sent him back. I would assume, as soon as you remove the snake the soil would collaps, and clogs again, unless they remove the soil. This was about 4-5 ft long storm drain under the deck: only the entrance of the drain is visible to eye. <br /> <br /> He came back snaked the drain, and said that the pipe was busted because my front yard was flooded with the water he released.  <br /> <br /> Couple of days later, I was cleaning around the drain entrance and noticed that it was still full of soil.  <br /> <br /> I had another appointment with them for my leaky faucet; when they arrive I showed the storm drain still full of soil. He said that they don't do this kind of job and they would refund my money.  <br /> <br /> Fixing my faucet was another failure, and they neither return my calls nor refund my money. On 29 September, 2015, I had an appointment for my leaky faucet to be fixed; Big Angelo sent someone to look at it, he did not have the parts to fix it. He supposed to come back after 0600 PM, and never showed up. Next day, somebody called and explained that the night before, they had an emergency call. On 30th September, he came back and change all the parts including the handle; the faucet was still leaking. He said that he will try one last thing, and change the rubber ring, and the leak stopped. Everybody knows, when your faucet leaks, first thing you do is to change the rubber ring, not the parts of the faucet. The leak stopped, but, the water stream was too thin, he opened it again, thightened and pushed some parts, turned on the faucet and, the water stream was normal. This service fee was prepaid, I didn't owe them anything, he said they owe me some money, because he was deducting the cost of the parts from the money they owe me from the storm drain. He said, someone would call me and discuss the amount they owe me. Next day, on 1st October r, when I turned on the kitchen faucet, the water stream was like 1/8', not able to do anything with such weak stream. Next day, Friday afternoon, I called and left them a message, hoping they would come an fix it. Whole week, I was not able to use my kitchen without a water. Nobody returned my call. On Monday, I called back again, lefty a message, again nobody called back. Now, this is 3rd week, I am not able to use my kitchen, cook or clean anything. Not having a running water in the kitchen, has been extremely emotional stress and health concern for me. Big Angelo has to come and do jobs he has been paid for or return my $ 250, so I can hire someone else.

It was very good work in a tough spot below the tree roots - that was very impressive. The person who came out was Louis and he was very professional. He instilled a lot of confidence and took a lot of the worry away as he completed the work as it was a main to the house.

First time they were called they failed to see the very heavy leak.  Plumber didn't bother to walk all the way around the building. <br /> The leak continued for a week until my wife happened to be there and called me (the owner).  Then I called property manager. <br /> This caused a $1400 water bill that cal am lowered to $700.  Big Angelos refused to consider they were in any way responsible for allowing the leak to continue.  I paid the $700 as I did not want the tenant to pay for Big Angelos complete lack of professionalism. <br /> I called the owner twice and he basically blew me off. <br /> I will never use Big Angelos again ev en if I have to do the work myself. <br />
Response from Big Angelo's Plumbing & Heating
"called to replace your water heater. We replaced your water heater. You never mentioned a water leak. We don't just walk around people's houses and look for additional work. We show up on time, and fix the issues you call about. You never ever called me even once to discuss a high water bill or a leak in your yard. It's really a shame that people like you take advantage of these review sites to lie. How about blaming your tenants or property manager."

"You bought a coupon for furnace maintenance on Angie's list. We didn't charge you $95. We asked you if anything was wrong with your furnace, noises, smell, not heating correctly etc. you stated sometimes you get a smell. Technician crawled under house and checked all ducts and your furnace. Another half truth review."

We had a gas leak under our home. PGE turned off the gas and told us to get a plumber to find the leak and correct it <br /> I called my (at the time) go to plumber company - Big Angelo's. <br /> To their credit they were very responsive and to my house in less than one hour! <br /> Pretty much my satisfaction ended there and my previous glowing endorsement and referrals  ended. <br /> When their guy (Joe?) arrived we reviewed the situation. We checked for possibilities in the house (stove, dryer, etc.) then decided  that he needed to go under the house as originally suggested.  <br /> To find a gas leak, air is pumped into the gas line and hissing noise is sought out.  <br /> Joe was on his own and though he had a pump, his pressure gauge did not work, so he could not be sure that the line was holding air. I volunteered to pump the bicycle pump to ensure there was pressure in the line while Joe crawled under the house to find the hissing. In 5 minutes, the leak was found. He said he could hear it as soon as he got under the house. <br /> He did not have all the parts to fix the corroded line, so we agreed to cap it and fix it another day. The line fed a fireplace, so not having it working was an OK option. PGE returned to confirm the leak was fixed and returned our gas service the same day! <br /> Sounds like a positive story. So, why the poor review? Price GOUGING! Joe was at my house for less than 1 hour - Cost = $275! What an incredible rate! Certainly not the rate previously charged for other work at my home. No detail was given on my bill to break out the charges, so I asked what I was being charged for. He said "finding the leak", and that crawling under my house was an automatic $150 upcharge! I have never been charged that previously by electrician, contractor, plumber, etc.. <br /> I also asked for an estimate to run a new line and told him to assume he would again have to crawl under the house. His quote $750.  <br /> Knowing that I had already been charged an outrageous sum for this first call, I held off on making an appointment for the additional work. I got another quote for $300 - $350, which I had done and was charged $325 for 2 hours labor, under the house and 15 ft of gas line and fittings. <br /> Perhaps my previous positive reviews of Big Angelo's here on Angie's List had Joe thinking that I was a fan no matter what. The responsiveness was excellent and the work was done promptly, but the price gouge ultimately took away the previous good feelings and referrals. I might use these guys in the future, but I will be much more careful and on guard. <br /> <br /> AFTER READING BAs REPLY I HAVE AMENDED my SCORING: <br /> Everything BA said is true, still I don't think there was reason to attack me with " people like you take advantage of these review sites to write half-truth reviews".  If you view my previous glowing remarks about BA and my other reviews you will see it is not my pattern.  <br /> The responsiveness and punctuality was excellent - A <br /> Quality (since I include communication here) - B <br /> Pricing - C - IMO the fee was too much for one hour, whether I am desperate or not should not effect your pricing. Your quote for additional work , when considering the permit and additional time is NOT outrageous, but still higher than paid. <br /> Professionalism. - B Downgraded for lack of complete communication and for your comments that make me the bad guy instead of a customer that hasn't been given enough information. <br />
Response from Big Angelo's Plumbing & Heating
"It's unfortunate that people like you take advantage of these review sites to write half-truth reviews. My gas gauge worked perfectly fine. Your leak was so bad under the house that the gauge would not hold any pressure. I explained that to you. You volunteered to pump the air full of line while I crawled under your house to locate the leak. I never asked you for help. You called us late in the day at almost 5 o'clock because you had renters coming in and you had to have the gas turned on for them. We were able to disconnect the line that was not done to code and was leaking underneath your house and cap It off so your renters would have gas that evening. You were not interested in having the whole line replaced that day and furthermore there was no way to pull a city permit at 5 o'clock that day, which is required. There's no way another company charged you $350 for 10 feet of gas line replacement. Permits alone cost over $100 and approximately one hour to pull ,plus another hour of waiting for the inspector to check all the work when it's done. On average permit costs and the time involved cost roughly $350. I guarantee you did not have permits pulled for that job .Just like The previous job you had done on your gas line, somebody used materials that weren't code and you had to call us at 5 o'clock in a panic because you had renters coming in and a serious gas leak. Overall we responded to your emergency promptly, were able to quickly diagnose and fix your problem temporarily so that your new renters had gas and gave you a quote to permanently fix the problem. My professional recommendation is for you to call the company that installed your new 10 feet of gas line and have them pull a city permit to make sure it's done correctly unlike the people who previously did gas line work on your house. When they charge you an additional $350 for the permit and time spent to pull the permit and meet with the inspector that you will understand why we quoted you roughly $700."

Provider was prompt, friendly, and quickly accomplished the work. However, we were told he would install a convenient, hinged door which would close over the filter opening to make easy to change filters. We called about it and he agreed to come back out and do it. Unfortunately, instead of a hinged door, he installed a flimsy piece of sheet metal over the opening, held in place by a few sheet metal screws. This means having to unscrew and re-screw the cover every time we need to change filters. This is even less convenient than simply replacing a piece of duct tape every time. <br /> We should add that he was nice enough to come back out and investigate and solve a problem with a loud whistling sound in the duct work which was not due to the installation. <br />

"Thanks so much for taking the time to write this review. We appreciate your business and like to ensure that you are happy with the service provided. If you would like one of our technicians to install the hinged door, please feel free to call and schedule the service. Thanks again for trusting us with your heating needs. Big Angelo's"

Response from Big Angelo's Plumbing & Heating
"Our technician correctly assessed your issue the first time. It was not a plumbing problem that was causing the odor in your house. He also crawled under your house to check all the pipes to make sure there was no broken pipes that were leaking which would cause an odor. We sent 2 more technicians free of charge to do a video inspection of your sewer line."
